Elanne Kong, Leon Lai's favorite artist Janice Man, model Samantha Chow and Rose Chan attended the locally popular designer Ricky Kwok and Japanese brand ROSEBULLET's joint fashion show. Famous models Mandy Lieu and JM led the show.

Elanne expressed she recently rewatched her TVB series E.U. She laughed and said she rewatched her own acting from back then, she frankly said: "That time, I was so young, only 19 years old. I was still young and tender, spoke like a little girl." However, she felt back then her age matched the role, and today she actually won't be able to do it again. She smiled: "Currently in Love Lifting (高舉.愛) I already have a role as a mother. Each individual will have different phases where they undergo different experiences. (When will you be a mother for real?) When I'm 30, I've always had plans, but still have 6 more years. I should be able to find someone by then. Fate, if it's right then it will be that person, no need to go search." Also, she reveals she will be focused on producing her new album in the next half year. Currently she is discussing over several scripts and may have an opportunity to shoot another TVB series later in the year.

Raymond Lam, Ella Koon, Michael Miu and Ben Wong were shooting a police chase scene yesterday for TVB new series Dangerous Drug Raid. Raymond, who suffered from an injury on his sciatic nerve, expressed he has to go in for physical therapy one to two times a week. He said without hiding that there is pain when he walks and sits. As for Ella, a few days ago she sprained her ankle during filming, but yesterday she heroically continued to do the chase scene anyway. However, when the cameras stopped, she was limping and often rubbed her feet.

When speaking of EEG CEO Ng Yue's comment earlier at the EEG Spring Banquet teasing Kevin Cheng can take Raymond's seat? Raymond laughed: "I heated up the seat for him! Pretty good. (Compete for the Male Singer award with you?) I never cared about these things, most important is that we can reach our goals with the music crew. After completing this series, I will have two more films to shoot in the next half year and will participate in a Mainland series." Reporters teased and asked if he's had enough of the seat and is willing to give it to Kevin? He laughed: "I'm always on the run. (Tell Kevin to go back and be his TV King?) He's my role model, I hope to join the TV King club too."

Ella revealed she knew Raymond before this series, but they only got familiar when shooting this series. Reporters mentioned they have a common friend, Ron Ng. Ella said: "Common friends in TVB, turns out he can go down the comedic route! (He's provoking you?) We mutually provoke one another to chat."

Also, Michael praised that this series invested a lot of car chasing and gun shooting scenes. He said yesterday he ran up and down all day long, but he expressed he is able to handle the scenes himself as long as he does his warm ups. When speaking of good friend Felix Wong switching over to Ricky Wong's team, asked when he's going to do the same? Michael said: "I'm still have a contract with TVB for some time, will shoot 1 series per year. I spoke to Mr. Wong before, but didn't get to the price yet. (Felix feels unhappy at TVB?) No, he just wants to switch to a new environment. Also, the salary there is higher than TVB."

Hong Kong actress Maggie Cheung was said to be unhappy with the latter for enjoying similar treatment despite her seniority.

Hong Kong businessman Ricky Wang recently set up a new broadcasting company that is set to rival against Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB), and brought along with him popular actors and actresses like Felix Wong, Maggie Cheung, Frankie Lam and Bernice Liu.

At the groundbreaking ceremony of the new company last Friday, tensions were high at the event as actress Bernice Liu and Maggie Cheung were spotted giving each other the cold shoulder.
Maggie was allegedly poached to join the new company at a skyrocket price. Another actress who will enjoy such prestige will be Charmaine Sheh, who is also set to join the line-up.

According to reports, the reason for Maggie's hostility was due to fellow actress Bernice Liu, who despite being ditched by TVB last year, was signed on and given similar treatment in the new company.
On the day of the event, Maggie looked displeased as she stood next to Bernice on stage, and refused to make eye contact or any form of handshake with the latter.
At the media interviews later, Maggie proceeded to sit at the back rows despite being arranged to sit in front with Bernice.

"It is better not go over there, there's too much negative energy.... I really don't understand... (She had) such poor acting skills!" Maggie was overheard muttering, as she made her way behind.

Late last year, the 'Theresa Fu Gets Beat by Boyfriend' scandal broke out and the 'boyfriend' Him Law was known as the 'man of violence' since then. Initially, Him gained popularity for possessing a 40-inch chest and his future should run smoothly, but unfortunately the tides changed at the peak when the scandal broke out. He almost lost everything.

Several months after the scandal, 27 year old Him Law appeared in a chain of series including the previous L'Escargot, the current The Hippocratic Crush and Tiger Cubs, which will air later this year. Not only was Him entangled in a complex scandal, but his rumored girlfriend switched from the young to the older Tavia Yeung.
Eat too much salty fish, Deserved to be thirsty

FACE: If the media were to ask questions in regards to Theresa Fu, will you still answer them?

HIM: I won't talk about it anymore. I'm sorry, but I already explained everything that I had to explain. Also, if we keep mentioning it, it does us both no good and is not fair to anybody. What's important is that I am happy with my development and she is happy with hers. We will both add oil.

FACE: Has the scandal last year changed you?

HIM: Each industry has their own difficulties. Eat too much salty fish, deserved to be thirsty. I won't give an special explanation because what needs to happen will eventually happen. It is impossible that I won't be unhappy. Then I want to ask, what can I do? I will just continue to do my thing. Fortunately, at this moment I still have a lot of jobs coming in. I learned to cherish the things I have. (At the time, were you afraid that would be the end of your career?) I knew it was a crisis, but maybe I'm just really lucky, I had some friends...with their help, I was able to get through it. (How did they help you?) Encouragement. In fact, I think substance is difficult to say, the people I know aren't any bosses or anything. When you are feeling cheerful and calm, then it's like a smooth path. But when you are always worried, whatever happens won't be good. In the future, whatever happens, I will have a few ways to handle it, and think more comprehensively. I will no longer be simple minded as I used to be. Also, I'm not as active as I was before, I feel heavier.

FACE: Do you feel only one side of the public supports you?

HIM: I always believe that the palm of just one hand cannot make the sound of the an applause. The past is the past, I won't go talk about it in detail anymore. I'm not a piece of blank paper anymore, I already have a record and this record will follow me for life. Perhaps until I retire, get the 'Best Actor Award', the newspapers will still bring up my record, but I have gotten over that. Each individual has their own history, but I'm a public figure, so my file will also be public.

FACE: But people think of you and Amigo Chui as the representative of 'violent boyfriends'?

HIM: I can't change the past, even if people think of me that way, what can I do? Good news or bad news, I can only accept it.

FACE: Do you feel you are really lucky, can take a big leap over the tough times?

HIM: I won't go think about the tough times from the past because I really don't want to waste time. Perhaps a few years later, when I think back, I would feel why am I still thinking? Honestly, I experienced a lot in the last two years. I'm still sitting here chatting with you. So, why not just cherish it all and pave the future road!

FACE: Any news about yourself that struck you the most?

HIM: The most memorable report was the story that I had a lot of girlfriends (1 foot on 13 boats), that moment I was really angered that I became expressionless. My eyes popped out, but it's just anyone who I collaborated with, their name was on the list. I would think to myself, will anyone believe this? What does this have to do with me? Perhaps, 2 years later, when I do another interview with you, you will talk to me about this as a joke, but right now I'm not at this level yet.
Leaving to Fate isn't being Passive

FACE: The most recent headlines are about you and Tavia Yeung...I'm not done asking, why are you laughing already? Because you have a sweet feeling?

HIM: Actually we are just friends. It's just that we don't do any avoiding. (The day of the interview was Valentine's Day, what plans do you have?) After the interview, I'm going home and having dinner with family.

FACE: Interacting with the media nowadays, must always hold back and protect yourself? Will you speak frankly about your relationships?

HIM: I will leave space for my personal relationships. (Don't wanna be like Moses Chan and Aimee Chan, showing off their happiness?) If in the future I do have a partner, I may not be like them. First, a lot of it is about the right match. It's not necessarily about if I want it, then it will happen. (Your company opposes?) No, I may want to, but she may not want to. (If your other half is willing to make the relationship public?) We can make it work, I don't mind! Both sides should coordinate and decide for the best. If it works out, we will both share the happiness, but if it doesn't work out then we will suffer together. (Does your company prohibit you from dating to protect you?) Never, I am an adult that can distinguish between good and bad."

FACE: Then what about you and Tavia Yeung, any chance to develop further?

HIM: We did meet up for dinner, but everyone exaggerated the whole thing. It was just that we had a lot of scenes together and got along well. Later we went out for dinner with a group of friends. As for it there are chances to develop, really leave it to fate. (How are you and her getting along well?) No explanation, it's just like me and you getting along well. It's the fate of human relationships. (Do you accept 'sister-brother' love?) Feelings do not discriminate age, I personally won't oppose to it. As long as we can communicate, then it's ok. (But there's a gap between you and Tavia's careers? People will gossip, wouldn't that be hard to bear?) If there is true love, then that is not a problem. However, I can't say I won't think about it. (The woman is above the man though?) Hey, what is this above and below? In the end, it's all just air!

FACE: Why do you always say leave it to fate? Do you believe life is depended on fate? Or is it for some questions you're only brave enough to say leave it to fate?

HIM: Because there are a lot of things that we can say, but it may not happen. Just like work, I want to do something, but I wasn't able to do it. Success is on the person, but the plans is on the heaven. ....I've always believed in this proverb: "It takes a hundred rebirths to bring two persons to ride on the same boat; it takes a thousand eons to bring two persons to share the same pillow" (百世修来同船渡,千载修得共枕眠). Today we may be sitting here chatting, but perhaps in our past lives we owed each other money, so now have to repay it. (Does this include the ill-fated?) Can't. Cannot use these words."

No Longer Stubborn

FACE: After the scandal, was your family worried about you?

HIM: I know they are worried, but they won't directly talk about the incident, just would ask: "Are you coming home for dinner tonight? There's your favorite [whatever] food!" Sometimes we would go walk the dog and go for a scroll. In fact, I know their purpose, I feel it. That's how I feel guilty inside, and then feel sad, but I can't let them know I'm unhappy. Actually I'm a big boy now, I bear a lot of hope and I'm also a man, I feel that I have the responsibility to take care everyone. So, when I'm out working, I put my heart into it. When I'm unhappy, I would go for a swim or go look at fishes, makes me feel better. I have realized something after going diving, that the world is so big. I'm not considered anything, and when I think this way, I won't be so stubborn about it anymore. Why not think more about how I can do better. I am a son, a nephew, a grandson and in the future I maybe someone's husband and father.

FACE: Currently you are appearing on TVB series after series, and have hope to reach up top, your family can relax!

HIM: At this moment, I am happy because my family is proud of me, but yet I am unhappy because my family was worried about me. Even today they still believe that being an artist isn't a practical profession. Now that they see me more on TV and getting more jobs, they feel relieved. It would be best that they see you on TV every month, and prove that you are busy!

In fact, I am closest to my father. I understood long ago when I was young that even though my parents separated, they are still my mother and father. That won't change. So, my view on family is still complete. My father's view on family really influenced me, he's a very responsible. Although he didn't marry or have any more children, he still takes care of my brother's family.

Kevin Cheng and Adason Lo joined EEG, last night at EEG's Spring Banquet, the news was announced and a welcome ceremony was held for them. It was said Kevin was offered HK$3 million to sign a 5 year contract with them, which is just a little less than Raymond Lam's HK$3.5 million a few years back when he signed with the label. However, Kevin promises that he'll accommodate EEG in launching albums, films and concerts.

'TV King' Kevin and 'Asia-Pacific Most Popular Male Singer' Raymond are both Virgina Lok's favorites. At TVB, they have been heavily promoted all along, but now that the two are with EEG, a battle starts between them. At the Spring Banquet, Kevin did not avoid speaking up to EEG CEO Ng Yue, he said: "I really like to sing, and I hope my wish will come true, to have representative works in both music and film." Ng Yue said without the slightest hesitation: "I promise you that I will tailor a song that will be popular around the world. Mr. Yeung (Albert Yeung) will quickly start a new film for you." Ng Yue gave Kevin a sports jersey as a gift on the spot: "This is for you to wear when you go out jogging daily and prepare for your HK Coliseum concert."

TVB executive Virgina Lok then went on stage and said to Ng Yue: "Last year I handed over our daughter (Mag Lam) to you, you must take good care of this popular Siu Sang!" Ng Yue expressed: "Kevin go down and sit in Raymond Lam's seat, he left already, so take his spot, sit there until the end."

Later, Kevin modestly said: "He's just joking. Really, don't believe him. Raymond's position cannot be replaced by anyone. We each have our space, each will do well." When asked if he'll be competing with Raymond for the 'Asia-Pacific Most Popular Male Singer Award'? He said: "Wait until I get a representative work first. I admit to defeat when it comes to Chok. (Compete for Gold Song Gold Award?) I don't mean that. I just want to have my own representative work, it's just that simple."

TVB series Policewoman's Love Battlefield lead actress Niki Chow hosted a 3 table end-of-filming dinner on behalf of lead actor Michael Tse, who is currently busy shooting for a Mainland series in Hengdian. The cast and crew including Mandy Wong, Grace Wong, Queenie Chu, and Koni Lui attended. Koni brought her husband Dickson Wong along with her to the dinner, she laughed: "Because Niki said my husband is handsome, and really likes him, so I purposely told him to come along. Niki even asked my husband to introduce his brothers to her."

As for getting exposed to love Koni's husband, Niki laughed: "Actually I just heard Koni say 'Lo Gong, Lo Gong' (husband), so I'm just following her and calling him that too! I already knew her husband back when we were working as models. (Did you tell Koni to introduce guys to you?) Doesn't matter, I'm single now, but I'm not saying I'm a 'left behind girl', just I don't have a partner yet."

The guests included Stephen Chan, Alan Tam, Jennifer Tse and her boyfriend Andy On. At the banquet, EEG formally announced Kevin Cheng and Adason Lo has joined the company. Earlier it was rumored that Raymond Lam was afraid he'll lose favor and so secretly tried to stop Kevin from joining EEG by going to talk to executive Virgina Lok. Last night, Raymond was only at the banquet for 10 minutes because he expressed he had to rush back to continue shooting for his new series. He expressed he knew Kevin joined EEG and will be his junior: "After all we can finally be true 'See Hing and See Dai'. Back then, we were both students of Dai Si Chung, at the time I was his junior!" Based on Raymond's comment, it looks like he's implying that Kevin is under him. Raymond expressed when he and Kevin were shooting Yummy Yummy, they already knew each other well and denied the rumors that they are on bad terms. He feels that EEG singers are all like a big family, he absolutely did not try to stop Kevin from signing with EEG.

Yesterday Ada Choi, Sheren Tang, Alice Chan, Tracy Ip, Moses Chan and Kenny Wong attended the costume fitting for TVB new series War and Beauty II. The sequel has been completely repackaged with a whole new story, the relationships are tangled and complicated. Sheren will continue being the 'Yue Fei' in this series, but her role will be more friendly than the last series. She'll often have to help her younger sister Christine Ng patch things up for no particular reason. As far as her relationships go, she will be connected with a mixture of people including the harem's nanny Ada Choi and the playboy Chinese opera performer Moses Chan. In the Sales Presentation clip, a bed scene between Ada and Sheren was seen. Regarding this, Sheren said: "I believe we don't have those scenes anymore." Producer Jonathan Chik also said there won't be homosexual topics in the series.

It was rumored because the homosexual element clashes with Sheren's religion, Christianity, so she didn't really want to promote brokeback relationships and declined to do the scenes. The script had to be modified to accommodate her. She said a little upset: "No! Don't ask about these things, there's none. It's strange talking about this stuff. We, artists are very passive." She expressed the 'Yue Fei' in this series is a conservative person, and will not be frank about her relationships, so the series will rely on spiritual interactions. This has become her greatest challenge, Sheren laughed: "The most difficult is having to interact spiritually (i.e. using eyes), luckily I personally trained myself pretty well in the past few years."

Ada does not mind brokeback scenes

Ada is also Christian, but she said she hasn't received the script yet, so she doesn't know the direction of her relationships. However, she does not mind filming a brokeback relationship because she has done it before. She said each individual has their own limit, she will respect and admire as well respect all decisions made by Christians: "In fact, I don't accept ghost series or I may not even shoot intense bed scenes with men. Will have to see what the story line is trying to convey. If it's an vague sister relationship, then I can accept." She also laughed and said perhaps because she's a mother now, so this time she gets to play a nanny role.

Housing investment, not moving to a smaller home

It was reported Ada had to move from a big to a smaller house because of her mother, who loves to gamble. She clarified that because her husband wanted to use the savings to invest in real estate, but encountered high housing prices and when they placed in their deposits, the offer price was countered: "How can we live in a 500 square feet house! Aside from the children debt, we have no other debts. We are one happy family. My relationship with my mother is great. If the media wants to take pictures of my mother and I, then I can't help it, but please be fair to her, I don't want to comment too much."

From the moment Miriam Yeung found out of her pregnancy until she had a stomach ache and was hospitalized, her emotions went up and down. After experiencing prenatal depression, she had a lot of strange thoughts. Carrying a baby boy in her womb, Miriam cherishes all that she has and is prepared to welcome her son into the world.

[Miriam Yeung Speaks]

I'm currently 6 months pregnant, that moment when I found out about my pregnancy, I was very happy. However, the news didn't digest yet, so I felt so stiff. Mr. Ting (Real) even thought I was joking too: "Is it really that simple?" I never thought I would get pregnant that easily either because before I had a lot of end-of-filming parties, every week someone treated me dinner. I would be drinking champagne daily. It turns out that everything in life was set. I asked my mom and mother-in-law first thing, they told me not to tell anyone because the baby is sensitive. They even told me everything about the Chinese traditions for pregnant women, of course I remember it all!

Doing shows while carrying a child, gets scolded by elders

The less people that know about the pregnancy, the better. However, after a month, I had to do a show and my husband wanted me to cancel it. However, I said I cannot do that and so we tried to change the rundown. Of course, he was upset, but I said it's fine [because] I'm just singing, no biggie. The doctor said singing is not a problem and I'll be seated while singing, but I felt the pressure when I was doing the show, I totally overestimated myself. I was really scared during the show, but I was happy standing on stage. My husband, mother-in-law and my parents nagged me every night. Especially the next day after the show, I had to guest star in one of Pang Ho Cheung's films. What did you know, I didn't even finish shooting and I already felt unwell, then rushed to the hospital. The doctor said: "Miss Yeung, you really can't work too hard, you have to be in bed." That night, I was truly scared when I was in the hospital, I felt very down and unhappy. I was really scared that I hurt the baby in my womb. Turns out that the first three months danger period could get so bad, so I obediently remained at home to rest for a whole month.

Carrying my son for several months, I did a self-reflection, constantly thinking about the future. Many people have different views on life, and recently I started feeling his movements, my stomach is getting bigger and bigger. It feels interesting, but I'm always worried, each day when I wake up, I think: "Wonder if he's okay in there? Last night, I slept on my side, would that hurt him?" I had a lot of strange thoughts. Everybody gets pre and postnatal depression, so can't worry too much. It's just fast or slow, long or short and if there is enough people around you to give support. If, touch wood, something happens then that's all been set, it's fate, can't help it. Thinking of it that way, you will feel a little better.

Change in appetite, love to steal food

Many people say pregnant women are the boss, but I'm not. I didn't bully my husband, but I did tell my husband to get me this and that. In fact, I am not too nervous, but it's my family that gets me nervous. My domestic worker, would tell my husband about my whereabouts and then he'll cal me to ask me where I am. My mother-in-law and mother takes turns in giving me calls. Sometimes, I would get a little annoyed, but I know I'm blessed!

After I became pregnant, my appetite changed. I have major cravings for curry, but the Chinese doctor does not recommend that I consume foods with spices, so it's such a miserable feeling that I can't eat it. In the past, I liked to eat seafood, but now I can't have it because I can't stand the fishy smell anymore. Now, I love to eat instant noodles. My mother-in-law that something is wrong, so she went to buy me rice noodles because she believes rice noodles are better than instant noodles, but I still would sneak to eat some. I don't know why I like to sneak around and take food after becoming pregnant, perhaps because I'm always trying to lose weight as an artist, can't eat anything, but now if I don't eat, it's a sin.

Sacrifice Work is Worth It

After I became pregnant, life has become a pattern, I communicate more with my husband and we talk more because it is no longer a situation belonging to just the two of us. My husband's changes is more distinct than mines, when he learned he was going to be a father, you would feel he's work even harder to go do something. I know work is difficult for him. I can't imagine who our baby would look more like. If he resemble me, then it may be a tad better, but personality wise, my husband is better. He has a personality of independence, and is a strong leader when it comes to work. He pretty athletic and is attentive. If my baby personality resembles me, then that be a problem.

Putting down work, I don't feel I'm sacrificing a lot for my baby. I actually feel before when I sacrificed all my time for work, now that I have my own family, the heaven is giving me an opportunity to go do it. I will cherish this opportunity. I feel I didn't sacrifice anything, during this period, I would think why didn't I get married earlier, but if it happened earlier, I may not be able to handle it because I haven't gotten it straight yet. Some things, when I can't get it straight, then I may not be able to cherish it and this would render negative results. Eventually perhaps it may end in a divorce because timing is very important. If I became pregnant two years earlier, I don't know what to do? But now, I am all prepared!

Fala Chen, Sharon Chan and Roger Kwok attended the promotional event to TVB new series Queens of Diamonds and Hearts that will premiere on Monday. When Fala from 'East Palace' meets Sharon from the 'West Palace' to fight for the Emperor Roger, the actual 'East Palace Empress' Cindy Au crashes the scene with Roger's son Brad Kwok. The little Brad kept calling his father 'On Jai' and completely stole the two Empresses limelight!

Fala appeared in her Chung Mo Yim costume, she complained that the makeup takes so long to put on: "It takes a whole hour just to draw in the eyebrows!" As it was rumored Fala acted as if she's the 'Big Sister' teaching Sharon how to act and led to them being on bad terms? Fala denied: "On my birthday, Sharon and Christine Ng celebrated with me. (What did your boyfriend give you?) He came along too, and brought a birthday cake with him. (Gift?) Secret."

Sharon also clarified that she and Fala are like sisters: "We go out shopping together in private life. Earlier Fala cooked Western dishes for me to eat. (Did she teach you acting?) No, we just come up with ideas together! Fala really has talent for comedy, she can be a scriptwriter."

As for Roger, he reveals 4 year old son Brad calls him 'On Jai' at home: "He's just following what his mom calls me. I won't be a strict father, but instead have a relationship with him as if we are friends. If he wants, he can even flip the house upside down, so he really clings onto me. (Go for another baby?) Nope! That's enough." Roger also explained the reason why he took his son to this event: "Because he doesn't know I'm an actor, so when he watched the promotion clips, he always asks me why I'm vomiting. So, I decided to take him along with me to work, and later I will bring my 8 month old younger son out too."

Also, Louis Yuen and Oscar Leung both mocked Henry Tang and Sir Donald Tsang (HK politicians). Oscar said: "The King has both a East and West palace, then would it be considered a lack of feelings?" Louis joked: "But the King has a shoulder bone and a backbone." The two then joked that the King's dungeon has red wine and a horse carriage to travel around the world. Soon after, even Roger came along and joked with them: "We would all get red wine as gifts then! Haha!"

Three award winner TV King Kevin Cheng won both fame and fortunes after his role in TVB series Ghetto Justice. Kevin debuted as a singer, and today he charges right back into the music scene. Today, it was announced that Kevin will be joining EEG and tonight, a contract signing ceremony will be held.

Kevin entered the industry as a singer in 1993, when he signed with PolyGram. He charged into the music scene with his 'baseball boy' image, but unfortunately his development was only mediocre. Later, he and his manager Dai Si Chung were in a disagreement, and he gave up on the Hong Kong market. He switched over to Taiwan and developed from there. In 2002, he came back to Hong Kong and signed a TVB management contract. In 2006, Kevin was crowned TV King, the 'Best Actor Award' at the TVB Anniversary Award based on his role in Under the Canopy of Love. However, the actual peak of Kevin's career lied in his role LAW BA in last year's Ghetto Justice, which was highly rated and acclaimed. Not only that, he became a three award winner TV King, scooping up the 'Best Actor Award', 'My Favorite TV Male Character Award' and the 'tvb.com Weibo Most Popular Artist Award'. Also, the popular broadcast of TV drama Starling Step by Step in Mainland turned Kevin into a best seller in both China and Hong Kong. He was paid nearly $250,000 per episode!

Bid Farewell to Music Scene 6 years ago

Since Kevin's release of the Mandarin album No Way Out (無可奈何) in 2006 (and New+Best Collection album compilation), it has been 6 years since he bid farewell to the music scene. Late last year, there were many record companies interested in this three award winner TV king. Earlier, the media photographed Kevin having dinner with TVB executive Virgina Lok and EEG CEO Ng Yue and at the same time it was rumored that good friend Myolie Wu recommended Kevin to join her record label, Neway Star. After 3 months of consideration, Kevin decided to join the 'bigger dock' EEG. EEG will be hosting a spring dinner tonight and from there it will be announced that Kevin is joining them. A contract signing ceremony will also be held, and EEG artists Nicholas Tse, Joey Yung and Twins will be at the scene to witness it all. It was understood that this year, aside from launching a new comeback album, EEG also plans to hold a concert for him and make arrangements for him to advance into the film scene as well.

Raymond Lam lends a helping hand

EEG initially already had Raymond Lam and Leo Ku as their first line male singers, now that Kevin has joined them, it would be hard to avoid the 'Fight for the First Brother Spot' rumors. Earlier it was also rumored Raymond tried to prevent Kevin from signing with EEG, but at the time Raymond denied: "If Kevin really is interested in joining a record company, I will strongly recommend him because we were both students of Dai Si Chung. We are considered 'apprentice brothers' (See Hing/Dai)!" In reality, Raymond has given Kevin a lot of suggestions. As for Kevin and Leo, they collaborated in the film Super Fans (甜心粉絲王) and their relationship had been pretty good all along. In addition, the three of them have different singing styles, so they can take in different fans.

As “TVB’s Top Treasure,” Liza Wang (汪明荃) defended TVB’s strengths and challenged the qualifications of new rival television station, City Telecom (CTI). The day before, CTI held a ground breaking ceremony to mark the construction of their production facilities. Liza stated, “CTI is a new company with nothing. Let’s produce some results before we discuss further! There is no need to talk about anything right now! TVB has come a long way and will not be brought down through slander!”

Liza continued, “Despite ATV’s long existence, they could not garner ratings! It is understandable that a new television station needs to recruit staff. I wish CTI well! Ricky Wong (王維基) said that there will be new dramas released at the end of the year. I want to see what kind of dramas they will be!”

Bosco Wong: “I Grew Up On TVB’s Milk!”
TVB’s biological artists, Bosco Wong (黄宗泽), Kate Tsui (徐子珊), and Michael Tse (谢天华) strongly supported their maternal home. Indicating that he found his first job at TVB, Bosco said, “I grew up drinking TVB’s milk and have served TVB for over a decade! As a TVB artist, I feel absolute attention and respect from outside parties. There are numerous benefits, such as higher appearance fees for TVB artists! TVB’s reputation is quite renown! Last year, Myolie Wu (胡杏儿) and I filmed a mainland drama together; we have a high degree of freedom as well, with numerous opportunities!”

Kate Tsui stated, “From the point of no one knowing who I am, to entering the Miss Hong Kong Pageant, and to having numerous fans, these are all things which TVB bestowed upon me. I even had the ability to film movies! In fact, TVB artists have a lot of freedom!”

Michael Tse noted that without TVB casting him in E.U. "学警狙击" and Lives of Omission "潜行狙击", his popularity would not have reached its current level.

Virginia Lok: “No Need to Reveal Mutual Scars!”
Regarding Ricky Wong’s ground breaking ceremony held inTVB’s Tseung Kwan O district, Virginia Lok (乐易玲) said sarcastically, “The stakeholders in the entertainment can flourish together and there is no need to reveal each others’ scars! The audience wishes to see good shows and not this (exposure of scars)! I congratulate him upon his ground breaking. I have a message for the cast and crew members: Without crossing the pond, the fish will not get fat; without competition, it will not get popular. I truly hope that they can get ‘fat’! I was especially happy to see Yue Mo Lin (余慕莲) sign with CTI and still have opportunities with her advanced age!

Asked whether TVB would accept staff who left the company and decided to return, Ms. Lok said, “The world is round. We have the disposition of a large station and the heart for tolerance!”

Recently Ella Koon has been busy shooting for TVB new series Dangerous Drug Raid with Raymond Lam, Kate Tsui and Michael Miu. Yesterday she attended an online charity auction event and exposed a few days ago she was shooting a police chase scene at To Kwa Wan Market. Ella plays an anti-drug police officer and perhaps it was because the scene was too realistic, but an actual off-duty police officer, who witnessed the scene, misunderstood that Ella actually encountered a 'criminal'. He righteously went to chase after the 'criminal' for her. Ella said: "A man helped me chase after the Pork Man (the 'criminal' in the series), the man grabbed him and even gave him a little punch. Then he fiercely asked the actor what he was doing. It really felt like a hero saving the beauty. (Then did the actor that got punched have any injuries?) No, the Officer didn't hit him that hard. He just grabbed him really tightly."

Ella believed that Officer was off-duty because she saw him purchasing roasted foods, but when the officer learned she was only shooting a scene for a new series, he quickly got in the car and vanished. That Officer was quite fierce? Ella defended him, she said the camera man and the staff were pretty far from her and she was under cover, so won't be that easy for passer-byers to notice. She also felt the Officer was very righteous and he is the pride of Hong Kong. "There was a little girl in Mainland that got rolled over by a car and no one cared, but in HK we have such righteous people. (Did you want to praise him?) He left so fast, I didn't even get a clear look of his face. Initially I wanted to tell him the people of Hong Kong relies on him."

When asked if shooting TVB series is too difficult that she lost weight? Instead, Ella said she deliberately gained weight since the director said she was too thin and doesn't appear cute enough on-screen. So, she ate a few bags of potato chips and other snacks without any restraint. Also, to portray her anti-drug police officer role, she especially dyed her reddish-brownish hair back to black. She claimed: "I recently have been looking quite pure."

In a blink of an eye, TVB 'little FaDan' Elaine Yiu is entering her 10th year in the industry. What hasn't changed is her baby face, but what has changed is her acting has matured. We see that there are more and more new talents bouncing out behind her, but Elaine remains calm: "Love and career are the same, can be found but not sought!"

Elaine entered the industry 10 years ago, by her young and pure look, she was casted in several young idol series or roles as the younger sisters. In 2006, she was offered the lead actress role in Safe Guards co-starring Steven Ma. It was then when people started noticing her. Last year she participated in the average-rated series Bottled Passion, and got favorable criticism: "There were many people around me that told me I did very well. The series had a lot of sentimental scenes that had to be expressed from within the heart. The script was written very well, so I was able to easily get into character." In the series, she sacrificed everything because she loved Raymond Wong's role. As a Scorpio, Elaine is the same in real life, she is willing to sacrifice everything for love: "Sometimes acting is similar to life. Life is an experience. I've been emotionally hurt before too, so when there are areas of similarities in the role, it would be easier for me to act it out. Some of the dialogue, I was able to easily grasp the feeling." Elaine disclosed over a year ago, she went through a very profound relationship, but there was nothing that could be done to move forward, so it ended in a break up. Later, she couldn't focus on work, but after getting through that stage, she felt she was really stupid. Looking back, she feels the most important is her own feelings.

"Jump Off A Building" A Breakthrough

Elaine is naturally born with baby face, until today she still plays a lot of pitiful young girl roles, but didn't know she could be so bad! This year in the new series Policewoman's Love Battlefield, she plays a foolish woman: "Perhaps I look pitiful. Before, I always get those roles that gets bullied, but this time it's a breakthrough. They told me I had to be a crazy woman, it's quite challenging actually because there is no definition of crazy, it is boundless!" Elaine's role is a tragic character, she will be putting things on fire, playing with rats, jumping from buildings, burning cars... her personality is extreme. The disorder brings out the problems in society, she smiled and said her costume really stands out and it cannot be tied to the word "beauty" at all. However, the most challenging is that she had to play with rats: "I'm really afraid of rats! When I was shooting the scene, I had to hold the rat too! I was still really frightened after shooting that scene."

Take it seriously, no more 'playing'

In a blink of an eye, Elaine had filmed 20+ series over the 10 years she's been in the industry. She slowly turned her interest in acting into a career. From the beginning when she thought of acting was just for fun, but now she will put efforts into studying her roles and learn by interactions. She will no longer use the attitude of "play" to go handle acting. Instead, she replaces the playful attitude with a professional one. She takes it in the form of a serious pondering style: "In the past, I never thought that much when I'm acting. I just thought it was really fun, but now I have another type of experience, I want to really put my heart into shooting each and every series, shoot a good series and really do well on the role. It's a great sense of achievement, makes me very happy and I can get more into my work!" Earlier she collaborated with TV King Wayne Lai in new series The King Makers, she was very grateful of his advice: "He taught me what acting is, and even talked a little bit about his life experiences. Acting is not about following some method because then it won't have substance. I had a lot of scenes opposite of Wayne, he helped me analyze, like for example there was one scene where I had to be able express the emotions with rhythm, can really push up the feelings!"

The wave behind pushes the wave ahead. The rising 'little FaDan', Mandy Wong is a good example as she recently gained popularity after her role as Kwan Yee So in L'Escargot. Elaine believed that everything is about the right timing: "For example, the broadcast periods of the two series and L'Escargot initially was a more superior series. Some things, you have to slowly save up. I really want to be like Mandy Wong too, having a role that helps me gain popularity, but if it's not yours, then there is no way you can force it!" At the moment, Elaine's favorite performance is the one in Bottled Passion. The happiest is that her family supports her by tuning in every night, and that is a great source of encouragement for her.

Tavia Yeung, Him Law, Kenneth Ma and Mandy Wong attended TVB series The Hippocratic Crush promotional event yesterday. It was announced at the event that last week the series averaged at 30 points and peaked at 33 points.

When Him mentioned the diving scene that broadcast last night, where he only appeared on-screen with swim trunks, Him felt his body figure was much more fit than now. Him said: "I think it's pretty good. (Did Tavia praise your body figure?) Yes, but she didn't touch." Tavia also greatly praised Him's sexy body figure and exposed that day when they were shooting the swim trunk scene, she couldn't help but: "touch him for behind." Asked if she thinks Him's amazing? She said: "It's good for men to have a built figure!"

However, Him will soon give up his built figure and switch to a slender figure to accommodate for his new series. Him frankly said he loves the built figure because he'll look better in his clothing.

When Tavia learned Him will be losing the muscles for his new series, she said: "Most important is to be healthy! At my age, I won't try to change my body figure for a series because I fear gaining weight just to shoot a series will affect my health. Also, Myolie Wu gained a lot of weight to shoot a series before, she's already a representative, so I don't have to go purposely do it."

As for Kenneth Ma, earlier he exposed his previous relationship with Nancy Wu. Nancy was displeased by the exposure and blamed him for trying to get publicity. Kenneth explained: "She probably said it in a joking way. (Did you ask her prior to exposing?) Yes, because the public said she's greedy for fortunes and has 'princess illness', so I wanted to help her clarify. Also, we are still friends now. (What is the reason to the break up?) I already explained, not going to talk about it anymore! I don't want to Nancy Wu saying I'm trying to get publicity again."

Last year TVB aired reruns of 2003 popular drama War and Beauty in the late evening and still got decent reception. It was then TVB decided to get the original cast back to shoot the sequel to serve as this year's TVB Anniversary series.

War and Beauty II will start shooting next week. Since the series is seen as TVB's secret weapon, the cast and crew have strongly declined to reveal anything. Reporters have been actively trying to obtain WABII's storyline via various channels. It was discovered that the sequel is completely unrelated to the first series. This time, Sheren Tang plays a concubine that gets thrown in the Cold Harem, while Moses is a performer in Chinese opera. He'll be in a subtle love triangle with Sheren and Alice Chan.

Gigi Lai married and retired from the industry, Charmaine Sheh and Maggie Cheung left TVB. It appears that the strive to get the four War and Beauty FaDans back for the sequel will no longer happen. As for the group of second line actresses, such as Nancy Wu and Selena Li, they 'glared' at WABII (uninterested), therefore producer Jonathan Chik had to invite his favorite Ada Choi back and Christine Ng, who had been on hiatus for 2 years to focus on her beauty salon business. Alice Chan, who had just signed with TVB, is fortunate to be able to battle Sheren.

Reporters showed initiative in obtaining the WABII storyline. In the last series, many people died in the end. Initially Sheren's role as Yue Fei had the chance to leave the palace, but she decided to stay behind to continue the battle with the Empress. As for the sequel, there will be an explanation of why Sheren was banished to the Cold Harem. She tries to overcome boredom in the Cold Harem and went to watch Chinese opera, where she then met the lead performer Moses Chan.

Meanwhile, Moses and the FaDan Alice Chan are childhood friends and had the romantic feelings long ago. To get closer to Moses, Sheren asked Moses to teach her acting and conveniently reduce the time Moses sees Alice at the same time. Christine Ng, plays Sheren's younger sister, who had always been a vicious person. She made an excuse to build Sheren and Moses' romance, then Sheren won't be able to make a comeback in the Harem, so she asked someone to go murder Alice. The Yue Fei this time has a rather weak personality in the beginning, but in the middle when she learned how her sister plotted against her, she started turning evil in order to protect herself.

Last year in the WABII sales presentation clip, Sheren and Ada Choi had a brokeback bed and kiss scene. It was understood that the actual version of WABII will retain the brokeback element, but it was only be explained through the dialogue.

Producer Jonathan Chik saved the role for Ada, she will be playing the 'GuGu', that is she'll be the boss of the palace maids. She is responsible for serving Sheren, so she knew about Sheren and Christine's secret. Aside from Sheren and the concubines fighting for power, the palace maids are also in a competition. In the series, Ada will be getting framed constantly by Tracy Ip. However, in the middle of the story, Ada will start unfolding a chain of intense scenes with Christine because they will be fighting over court warden Kenny Wong.

There aren't many restrictions, so they can all really use their imaginations."

TVB General Manager Stephen Chan will officially be resigning from his position at the end of this month (February 29th). The day before yesterday, TVB arranged a farewell dinner for him at a hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui East -- each member of management chipped in 500 HKD a piece to arrange a 5 table dinner for him. Most of the TVB executives were in attendance at the dinner, including newly promoted Deputy Chairman Norman Leung, Head of Production Catherine Tsang, Head of External Affairs Tsang Sing Ming, as well as the two execs who were rumored to be on bad terms with Stephen -- General Manager Mark Lee and Head of Production & Resources Virginia Lok. Even though Stephen Chan has stated in Media interviews that he has not decided on his future career path yet, Norman Leung revealed at the dinner that Stephen has promised that within the next 2 years, he will not work for any other multi-media company.

Looking relaxed and well-rested from having the last few months off, Stephen Chan arrived at the dinner dressed casually, smiling and happily greeting the waiting reporters. Asked about his feelings on leaving TVB, he stated: “In the 30 years that I’ve been working, 18 of those years were for TVB, so of course I will have sentimental feelings, but at the same time, I also feel excited about embracing a new way of life – the feelings are a little bit contradictory, but definitely not sad. There are many colleagues and people I’ve collaborated with whom I will miss dearly – even though at times, our opinions on issues differed, but our ultimate goal was the same.”

In early March, Stephen will participate in Pastor Lam Yi Lok’s stand-up comedy show, where he will perform 3 hymns, then after that he is planning to continue his studying abroad in Europe -- after that is completed, then he will consider future career direction.

Ever since the news of Stephen Chan’s resignation became public, there have been endless rumors of various media companies trying to recruit him to join their companies – in fact, he has admitted himself that throughout this time, he has received invitations from various organizations. Facing the departure of one of his GMs, deputy chairman Norman Leung expressed that Stephen will definitely be missed: “He was one of my most capable workers – his departure will definitely be TVB’s loss, however we respect his decision. Stephen did tell me that within the next 2 years, he won’t accept any job offers from other multi-media companies and I respect his promise.” Mr. Leung also expressed that he has not found a replacement for Stephen’s GM position yet.

Excerpts from his lecture at Hong Kong Baptist University and interview with Eileen Cha

What are Stephen Chan’s feelings towards leaving TVB? Working at the company for 18 years, does he have any experiences and lessons he can share with others? Stephen did not say very much at the farewell dinner day before yesterday – however, earlier on, during a lecture at Hong Kong Baptist University as well as an interview with radio host (and one of our [ND Daily’s] columnists] Eileen Cha, he had actually said a lot…..

.--- While introducing TVB’s history to students at HK Baptist University, Stephen Chan took the opportunity to show his ‘fondness’ toward his ‘maternal home’:

“Let’s pretend that I make a salary of $6 – if another television station were to pay me $10 but TVB only pays me $6.50, I would still choose to stay at TVB.”

.--- When a student asked him how he maintains his youthful appearance, Stephen went into a discourse about life principles (a discourse that appeared to have ‘hidden meaning’):

“In addition to the basic tenants of rising and going to bed early as well as not drinking or smoking, the most important thing is to maintain a pleasant state of mind when faced with other people’s idle gossip about you. In fact, there is no harm in taking the ‘ostrich approach’ [TN: meaning ‘bury one’s head in the sand’] – no need to take things too much to heart.”

.--- During the lecture at the university as well as his subsequent interview with Eileen Cha, Stephen expressed that he regretted hosting the program《Be My Guest》:

“If at that time I had thought things through more clearly, I would not have chosen to host the 159 episode 《Be My Guest》…. I never thought that the exposure in front of the camera would cause me to completely lose my privacy.”

.--- In addition to providing an ‘explanation’ for his decisions, Stephen also shared his experience working at TVB with the students at the university:

“Earlier, due to the dispute with the Big 5 record companies, the ratings for 《Jade Solid Gold》were very low. At one point, we were thinking about giving up on the program, but then we had to consider that it’s necessary for a television station to have a music program – it was sort of like ‘chicken ribs’ [TN: meaning ‘something of little worth or value that one is reluctant to give up’]. We already did not have too much funding invested in sports-related programs, so we definitely couldn’t give up music programs too!”

.--- During his interview with Eileen Cha, Stephen was asked whether going through the whole corruption scandal experience has caused him to be more ‘fearful’, to which he ‘firmly’ responded:

“Facing this world alone by myself, there isn’t much to be afraid of! The only thing I’m ‘scared’ of is cockroaches, especially flying cockroaches…truly very scared!”

All along, rumored couple Kenneth Ma and Nancy Wu didn't publicly admit their relationship, but it was aching for Kenneth to see gossips circulating about Nancy having 'princess illness' and went after a millionaire because she was greedy for money. It was rumored these are the reasons why Kenneth dumped her.

Kenneth had always been held back and rarely mentions his relationships, but this time he exposed himself that love sparked between him and Nancy in 2010 when they both participated in Strictly Come Dancing. However, the relationship only lasted a year before the couple broke up. Yesterday Kenneth confessed over the phone that they broke up because of their incompatible personalities. He said: "Personality wise, we don't really match. (She's too aggressive?) Actually I'm a flexible person, perhaps the timing isn't right, so we peacefully broke up. We are still friends now, but this time I spoke up about the relationship is because I wanted to clarify Nancy does not have 'princess illness' and it is not that I dumped her. She's a very good girl. We still go out for dinner and its nothing strange if you guys (reporters) catch us eating out because we are still a rumored couple, haha! (Reconcile?) Don't know what happens in the future! (You wanted to help Nancy clarify, but yet people are saying you are trying to get publicity and are upset at you?) Then I won't say talk about it next time!"

Yesterday the 'ex' couple appeared at the makeup room in TVB City one after the other, Nancy was asked about ex-boyfriend Kenneth, she laughed: "He was the one who said it, ask him! (Any embarrassment when you two meet?) Nope, we are friends. (Dated only a year?) You are all asking me so abruptly, personal matters will be handled in private. It is only the moment when I'm getting married that I will publicly announce. (Kenneth has been holding it for a long time before speaking up?) Haha... ... I suspect he's borrowing me to get publicity, his The Hippocratic Crush is doing well! (Upset?) I am upset! Borrowing me to do promotions!"

Also, Ricky Wong has successfully poached over TVB's veteran artists as well, including Yuen Wah, Yu Mo Lin, Rain Lau, Sin Ho Ying, Felix Lok, Lisa Lui and a group of current veteran artists waiting for their contract to end, like John Chiang and Peter Lai are confirmed to sign with CityTelecom.

Yuen Wah has been with TVB for 16 years and they have been delaying time after time on meeting with him to discuss contract renewal. Eventually Yuen Wah turned disheartened. Reporters contacted Yuen Wah and asked if he feels TVB is disrespecting him? He said: "A little, there is some confusion within TVB, perhaps its still the handover period and there are some changes of staff internally. It's like all those people in the artist department who started the contract with me are gone now." He admitted in the past, he would discuss the contract renewal 3-4 months before his contract ends. Now, his contract is up and there still hasn't been notice of the renewal. He said: "My contract ended for so long already and still no one coming to discuss with me. So what now? Should I turn down him (Ricky Wong) and then go talk to TVB? If, they (TVB) said they won't renew the contract, then it's going to be hard to bear! Since someone else is asking me to join them, then I'll go."

Last year Rain Lau's contract ended, and she had already joined CityTelecom, she said: "My contract ended, so I will be at the ground-breaking ceremony. I just feel it's going to be memorable." When speaking if her salary went up? She said: "Yes you can consider that. Ricky had very good contract terms."

The actress is reportedly selling her bungalow, sparking speculations of financial problems.

It might be more than baby blues for actress Ada Choi, who is experiencing a drastic decrease in jobs after childbirth. The new mother is reportedly in financial trouble after news broke that she had sold her Yuen Long bungalow and is looking around for a reasonable-priced apartment to rent.

According to an insider, Ada is putting her current home up for sale at HKD$9 million (SGD$1.46 million), and has set her eyes on a two-bedroom unit around 500 square feet in an old building located in the city area.
"Ada is planning on moving out of Yuen Long and back into the city, partly because of her daughter's future as the place has a lot of renowned schools," said the insider.

"But I don't understand why she is scrimping and look for a place that is almost as old as her," added the insider. It is rumoured that the 38-year-old is trying to increase her cash assets to handle the costs of raising her daughter and financing her mother who has zero income and a gambling addiction.

In earlier reports, Ada's mother was seen at casinos in Macau during the death of her maternal grandmother, leaving the actress to handle the funeral matters all by herself.
When asked if her relocation has any links to her mother's addiction, Ada replied sternly, "thanks for your concern but please do give me some personal space!"

Former TVB artist, Felix Wong, even appeared in a lion dance with Ricky Wong to commemorate the groundbreaking event! Facing a mass exodus of production staff and artists to CTI, TVB management have been separately talking to artists, even using the “friendship card” to persuade them to renew their contracts early! It was known that Wayne Lai, Ben Wong, and Angela Tong have demonstrated their loyalty by signing renewal contracts with TVB for several years!

In a telephone interview, Wayne Lai admitted that he had just renewed his contract with TVB under the guidance of Catherine Tsang, who had always favored Wayne. I am very satisfied with the salary.” (The terms offered by outside companies did not tempt you?) “My upcoming work is scheduled until August of this year. Afterward, the work arrangements are not finalized yet. I cannot commit to others’ offers. Moreover, I will not give up the Hong Kong market. While filming in mainland China in the past, I would be facing the wall [in the hotel] after getting off from work. I have a family and such working arrangements are not very suitable for me!”

With her first job at TVB, Angela Tong admitted that she had renewed a management contract. “I am unwilling to leave. I know everyone here and have a sense of belonging!” (Are you waiting to get married?) “Renewing my contract, of course I will work hard instead!”
