Yesterday Linda Chung attended the grand opening ceremony of Hong Kong Jewelry Outlet. Linda has been a heavily supported to become this year's TV Queen, good friends Joe Ma, Fala Chen, Ruco Chan and Tavia Yeung have expressed their support. Linda felt very happy to hear that, but she won't get too pressured. It was rumored Malaysia's Astro My Favourite TVB Awards on December 1st is a battle between Linda and Kate Tsui, but Kate is getting more support. Linda expressed: "Doesn't matter, just as long as the audience likes it. Most important is fairness!" Linda likes the idea of letting the public vote for TV King and Queen.

It was also rumored Linda and Tavia are on bad terms because Linda is getting promoted more, but Linda denied. She expressed her friendship with Tavia will not be affected. Asked who she supports? Linda stuttered: "I support myself! Actually I don't have the courage to say it, but this year I got so much support from the people in the industry, I really feel touched. This support in the entertainment circle is hard to come!" Asked if she'll tell her parents to come back to HK and witness her get the TV Queen award? Linda said: "My parents came to HK a few months ago. My father had an injury and rested for several months, so I don't dare to ask him to take anymore time off. I'm afraid he'll get fired." Earlier Linda told his father to retire, but Father Chung said he's not a man if he doesn't work. She said: "I wanted to tell my father to come back to HK and be my driver, every time he sees me he smiles happily."

Yesterday Lawrence Ng, Tavia Yeung, Kenneth Ma, Him Law, Mandy Wong and the rest of The Hippocratic Crush II cast attended the first promotional event. Last night, Netizens initiated a "No TV" night to support HKTV's licensing issue. Lawrence supported TVB won't get affected by HKTV. He said: "Why did they do that? There isn't ATV now, and the audience are watching TVB after all. In the past ATV had fought before, there was an ATV series by former TVB producer Gary Tang The Men of Justice, it was pretty high quality, but at the time why didn't anybody watch it? The audience were still watching TVB. If HKTV did get their license, they will have series releasing, but TVB will have The Hippocratic Crush III releasing as well. Then their destiny is the same as ATV, there isn't a difference! This incident, you can only said the government didn't grant them their license, it has nothing to do with TVB nor can you blame them (HKTV), its just not fair! TVB produced so many classics, the overseas audience enjoy their series too. If HKTV comes into the picture, is it guaranteed that they'll be better? I don't think so! I don't believe HKTV can defeat TVB!"

It was rumored Tavia Yeung and Moses Chan's manager Chan Ka Lei is leaving TVB to start her own company soon. Tavia was asked if she'll follow her manager and leave TVB as well? She expressed she still has a contract with TVB: "My contract doesn't end until next year. The news is just what the report said, I never said anything. I've been discussing with TVB on the contract terms now, but TVB will always be my first choice since I have been working here for over 10 years. I hope to spend more time with my mother and more opportunities to shoot films and develop in Mainland. I hope to go out and see the world." Tavia stressed she is unsure of where her manager is going, but hopes they'll have opportunities to collaborate again. As for TV Queen, Tavia won't give herself pressure, but this year she's supporting Linda Chung.

In regards to the rumor that Moses follow his manager and leave TVB, then TVB plans to heavily promote Kenneth Ma to the top? Kenneth joked: "Weren't they using an award to make Moses stay? TVB should first convince Moses to stay, then after two months promote me! (Compete for TV King title?) The competition is fierce. I'll be satisfied enough to make it to the top five!"

Last night, Raymond Lam, Janelle Sing, Karena Ng, Kate Tsui and Lo Hoi Pang attended the Baby Blues film premiere, which will start playing in theaters on Halloween. Raymond and Karena arrived in matching black outfits, but Raymond said they didn't deliberately match their outfits. He said: "Horror films, you will never go wrong wearing black." On stage, the couple was separated with somebody always in between them. Later when reporters asked them to take pictures, Raymond generously agreed and pulled Karena over for a picture. However, the staff then pulled Karena off the stage and when Raymond saw, he quickly followed behind and pulled her back up.

Asked why he and his girlfriend seem to have kept their distance on stage? Raymond said: "That's normal! Work is work!" Earlier when the crew went to Xiamen for the film promotions, did Raymond conveniently take his girlfriend to meet his family? He said: "Nope! Been too busy, just took everyone out for dinner once. Also my relatives aren't in Xiamen. (You usually take Karena to see your family?) Normal!" When speaking of the "No TV" movement, Raymond joked: "Of course because I won't be in HK!"

Karena was asked why she looked so embarrassed? She explained she attended the film premiere as an actress. Asked whether she's not willing to be on the same sage as her boyfriend? She said: "It's just work! (Usually more intimate?) Usually there aren't that many people around!" When speaking of visiting Raymond's parents in Xiamen, she expressed they were on a tight schedule and only had 4 hours of sleep. She didn't even get to celebrate her birthday. Asked what birthday gift did Raymond get her? She refused to answer. When the film premiere ended, Raymond took her to a night club to celebrate.

Just Gold designed a new line of gold accessories that will be launched on Valentine's Day. Niki explained the shamrock represents happiness and blissfulness. The three leaves on the clover refers to a man, a woman and a child, hoping the family will embrace happiness. Niki denied that its because she's dating Jeremy Jones that she had this insight. Is having a family of three Niki's ultimate goal? Niki said: "Not just one child, I want to have two children. Perhaps its because I have an elder brother and sister, it creates a very lively atmosphere. However due to the current society, having three children is already too many, so I hope to have just two, just like my great relationship with my sister (Kathy Chow)." Niki expressed she didn't buy gold to use as her dowry, but she has purchased gold while the prices are low to use as investments. Actresses Candy Chu and Annie Kwan, who were among the actresses who left TVB for a better future, recently appeared on an interview on Now TV to talk about their experience of working in the station, reported Apple Daily website.

Candy, who had participated in numerous TVB dramas by playing supporting roles and characters of no importance in series such as "Safe Guards" and "Divas In Distress", stated that she did not get the respect she wanted from the company.

Candy stated, "During the "Divas In Distress" celebration, I couldn't stand it anymore. I told producer Poon Ka Tak why I wanted to leave TVB. It's not because I was unable to do my job, but because I have worked for a long time but there is not a single poster with my name on it.

"How can the public get to know you when your name is not on any poster at all? Tommy Leung was there too when I spoke with the producer. I told them that what is the point of being an artiste and putting so much effort in something if people still don't know my name?"

Meanwhile, actress Annie Kwan revealed that she has been in the industry for 12 years before she decided to leave TVB due to contract issues.

"I left TVB because of the contract. TVB has various types of contracts. I was under the per-show contract, which means that I will only get paid when I work."

Although she received a few thousands for each job, Annie said that she cannot bear it anymore after five years. She broke down, "Actually I really couldn't live off what I was making, because I'm a grown woman who can't even support my family. To make it worse, they're the ones who support me and it made me feel useless."

Last night Charmaine Sheh, Raymond Lam, Charlene Choi, Khalil Fong and Ivana Wong attended the Hong Kong version of women magazine Marie Claire's 23rd birthday awards presentation gala dinner. In regards to the HKTV licensing issue, Charmaine frankly expressed she had been following the news as well. Asked whether she supports the government granting a free-TV license to HKTV? She said: "I think the government must give HK citizens a reasonable explanation. There is no need to hide it. All they want is an answer. (HKTV should get their license?) It is not my call. The government has their regulations and provisions, but HK should have more free TV channels because then there will be competition within the industry and the audience will have more options."

Charmaine frankly expressed she knows many of the now unemployed HKTV artists. She said: "Catherine Chau is a good friend, Bryon Mak is my little god-brother. I contacted them to show my concern and to let them know I support them. They are supporting their company and that's the right thing to do." She admitted she asked Catherine about the details on the whole issue. Charmaine said: "I asked her if she had any plans. She said after this is all over, she'll see what options are available to her. I believe TVB will welcome them back. (Doesn't TVB have a blacklist?) I don't think so. Nowadays TVB needs more artists. The temporarily unemployed don't have to be too worried, there will be a good scene later." Charmaine added in a joke that she's acting like TVB Director of Foreign Affairs Tsang Sing Ming. Asked if she thinks the current TVB artists popularity isn't comparable to the past? Charmaine said: "Of course not. In reality, it is true its not as great as before because there are a lot less 'greenleaf' artists and the dramas aren't as rich." Charmaine joked: "Actually since a group of greenleaf artists left and we can't have 'three generations under one roof', I may have to grow old faster."

When speaking of TVB's new music label "Star Dreams"? She said: "I'm not sure, I'm not a singer. (Did anyone invite you to participate in The Voice of Stars?) Nope. If they wanted me to develop in that area, they would have some 10 years ago. Let the newcomers do it."

TVB music producer CW Tang announced his resignation, as Tang's good friend Raymond expressed he knew about Tang's new plans before. Asked if they're starting a new company together? "Its not that simple. We're just simply collaborating in music. (New TVB music label Star Dreams?) Haven't heard about it. My singer contract just ended, but for now there isn't a new contract. I want to take a break from concerts." Karena Ng's birthday is coming up, as her boyfriend Raymond smiled and said they're lucky that they are currently promoting a new film Baby Blues together and have some time to celebrate. Yesterday Kenneth Ma attended The 2nd Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy with Fala Chen, Miss HK Grace Chan and famous model Jocelyn. Kenneth did the catwalk with Jocelyn and other models. During the pictures, Kenneth saw apart of Jocelyn's dress was stuck and helped her fix it. When speaking of succeeding Moses Chan as the next "seun poon"? Kenneth laughed: "I still have many unmarried men ahead of me. There are many seun poons in TVB!"

It was recently reported while shooting for Jackie Chan's new film in Mainland, several female artists were pursuing Kenneth, one of them being director Frankie Chan's daughter Colleen Chan? Kenneth explained: "Its really funny, the article said I'm making money with the help of Jackie Chan, I'm not qualified. I am earning money with the help of TVB."

Kenneth denied many girls are pursuing him: "Its fun to dream about it, but reality is cruel! Mainland girls have high expectations. Perhaps I'm not qualified in their hearts. (Colleen Chan is from HK though?) She's the most miserable, her photo was the biggest on the magazine report. I told her, just think of it as promotion. (Has any girl pursued you?) I'm such a big boy now and have never had that experience. It should be the guy pursuing the girl. (When?) When the right one comes along." When speaking of him being a gentleman helping Jocelyn fix her dress? He felt HK men had always been gentlemen.

Yesterday Kate Tsui attended a Honda motorcycle event wearing a black low-cut dress with a red jacket over. She disclosed she had always loved motorcycles, but because she doesn't have a motorcycle license, all of her motorcycle driving scenes in series were done by a stunts double. Kate expressed she had a boyfriend in college who drove a motorcycle, although she's frequently his passenger, she's still scared.

As for TVB implementing a new work hour limit policy, Kate has been busy filming Midas, but hasn't been mindful of the notice: "I've been filming so much lately I'm only half conscious. Yesterday I started working in the afternoon and just got off work this morning at 5am, so I haven't been following the news, but I'm happy to hear about the new policy. (What else do you want TVB to implement?) Everything, I'm a small employee that is very greedy. Giving me a pay raise would please me the most!"

When speaking of former Miss HKs Annie Kwan and Candy Chu disclosing that TVB work hours was dreadful? Kate said: "Really? Is it the year after Miss HK? The first year you get a paid monthly, how much you get depends on how many awards you get. I was lucky since I got to film series before my Miss HK term ended and I had other outside work. (Annie said its one show per year?) I'm not sure about other artists' work, I hope everyone continues to work hard."

Louis Koo attended shoe label LE SAUNDA's event held in Guangzhou with Eliza Sam (Heung Heung). There was a large group of Louis fans waiting to see their idol and at the sight of Louis, they all screamed constantly. Later, Louis and Heung Heung served as models and looked like a very good match.

Heung Heung was overjoyed working with Louis for the first time. Asked if she got 'electrified' by Louis? She said: "Nope. (Is he the type you like?) Men outer appearance is not important, the most important is how we communicate. You must feel comfortable with the person. I'm just waiting for God's arrangements. (Did you communicate with him just now?) Once I got out of the car, we went straight to work, we just had a small chat on stage."

Last year the shoe label invited Christine Kuo as their guest, but this year Heung Heung replaces her. Heung Heung expressed she just follows what TVB arranges for her and she personally hasn't really paid attention. Asked how much weight did Christine gain? Heung Heung said: "I hope you all don't give her too much pressure. We both came back from Canada, her figure is perfect in Canadian standards. The most important is her health and happiness. When I first came back to HK, I saw the girls were really skinny and I wasn't used to it. Sometimes its good to have some meat on the face."

Louis was asked how it felt partnering up with Heung Heung and Christine? He said: "I'm not sure, its a long car ride to Guangzhou and we definitely take naps during the ride. I saw Heung Heung hadn't got her side together yet, so I didn't really talk to her." Asked what he look at first when he sees a girl? He laughed: "I rarely glance at a girl, usually I look down to the floor."

A top actor with Hong Kong Television Network says his family will consider leaving the city if the government is adamant about refusing HKTV's free-to-air television licence application.

Frankie Lam Man-lung described himself as "a Hongkonger through and through".

But the government's defence of its licensing decision, without giving a reason, stirred up very gloomy sentiments in both him and his wife, actress Kenix Kwok Ho-ying, about the future of this city, he said.

Lam launched his tirade against the decision in an interview yesterday with the South China Morning Post.

"Hong Kong has turned into a mess. How can people still believe that justice can be upheld in our society?" Lam asked.

"There have been many failed policies, including his [the chief executive's] own illegal structures, since he took office. But still I thought we could give him some time if he admitted his mistakes sincerely.

"If the national education [curriculum] is introduced, I can still choose to send my daughter overseas to study. But now, this dispute is simply forcing people to turn political," the father of a three-year-old said, during the interview at Hotel Icon.

The couple had agreed to leave the city if there was no turnaround, he said.

Lam said the HKTV rally outside the government headquarters was the only protest he had joined in more than two decades. The last time he joined a protest was in 1989, after the June 4 Tiananmen Square crackdown.

A leading man in countless television dramas, Lam has been in show business for 20 years. He left TVB two years ago to join the new HKTV venture chaired by Ricky Wong Wai-kay and said he has no regrets. "I would never regret that because this is where I have found happiness through the quality of work," he said.

He worked non-stop for five days and nights shooting a TVB drama and sacrifices were made on the show's quality - in a network with no competition.

But at HKTV, he said, Wong would accept nothing but the best. "We are shooting dramas of movie standard. The equipment and the scripts are of the highest standards, and actors get enough rest to enjoy acting and ponder their characters."

Most of us have probably forgotten Louis Yuen started out as a singer. He debuted after participating in the 3rd New Talent Singing Contest in 1984. He has been in showbiz for 30 years. The 46 year old actor had always wanted to do some "homework" to sum up his 30 years. It just he never thought he'll have the opportunity to do it in a Hong Kong Coliseum concert.

"My initial idea was to do a standup comedy or standup 'singing'. Later I formed a crew, they told me: 'Louis, you started from the New Talent singing contest, why don't you do a concert at your 30 year milestone? Singing, it is your greatest interest after all!' I thought that's a great idea too, at least I could do something different from before or something that people didn't think I would do."

Today when preparing for concerts, it seems the most ideal things to do are to lose weight and work out, but Louis said: "I think it isn't necessary for me to lose weight. Aren't people going to concerts to listen to music? You have to strip too? Hahaha. I don't think its necessary to go to the Nick Cheung's extent, each individual has a different path. Others do it, I'm not doing it. I want something new! It must be like that!"

Never Given Up On Singing

During the interview, Louis didn't emphasize how much he liked singing, but as the interviewer sitting besides him, I really can feel his fire. Its like a fire that had been burning for many years that won't die out. In the eyes of most audience, Louis is a known comedic actor.

"You can say it this way, I have never given up on singing. Singing is not a dream or an ideal because 'it' has already become part of my everyday life. When I'm driving, I listen to the radio because I want to know who are this year's newcomers in the music industry. I want to know what new songs are out there or what the current popular songs are? Actually I've always had a close interaction with music."

A Path of No Return

"Basically, from primary school to secondary school, I have never lost a singing contest. One year it was crazy, nobody participated. The other people said: 'He's (Louis) is going to win for sure! What is the point in us participating!' Even the principal at the school tried to convince me not to participate in the contests anymore. That time I thought I was amazing! I saw I didn't have any competitors at my school, so I really wanted to see if I'm really that good. Why don't I try participating in the public singing contests?"

"I lost. The defeat was a huge impact on me because I never lost before! I finished performing and got off the stage. The staff, the judges and the guests that night like Anita Mui and David Lui said to me: 'Loius, you sang very well. Wait to get the award tonight!'"

"I know I'm not handsome, but I can't help it. I tell myself: 'Today you aren't used to seeing me, but if I'm on TV everyday, perhaps your thoughts will change?' That's why I entered TVB."

At TVB Louis hosted a few shows before recommending himself to join Enjoy Yourself Tonight two years after he entered TVB. At the time, Louis just hoped to get more exposure, but he never thought that was a path of no return. It is not that he's unwilling to be funny, just he never thought "once entered the comedic door, its a deep sea".

"I started being funny after entering Enjoy Yourself Tonight. I started doing disguises and the audience really liked it. One time, fans said I was really funny. I thought to myself: 'Oh no, its getting into their heads!'. Even when I'm on more serious shows, such as a show about physical education, everyone still thought I was really funny. How can I use such a comedic image to go on stage and sing Jacky Cheung's love songs? I began to feel I was drifting further and further away from music...."

In between, Louis had left TVB to get away from that image and had planned to release an album. Unfortunately the record company had some issues with the staff and his plan went out the window. After some twist and turns, Louis finds himself back on the television set, back to filming TV comedy series. After so many years, Louis has finally understood the concept of "don't force it".

"My mentality is just to share. I'm currently on social networking sits, sharing my own works online. I don't have to actually launch music albums."

It was revealed that Hong Kong actor Eric Tsang recently decided to resign from his post as the president of the Hong Kong Performing Artistes Guild.

As reported on Oriental Daily website, on 23 October, the 60-year-old actor made the announcement after the Guild faced numerous criticisms from the public for failing to act during the free-to-air license protests.

While more than 120,000 people gathered to rally against the Executive Council's decision to eliminate HKTV from the broadcasting race on 20 October, it was reported that two out of the 10 organization members in the Federation of Hong Kong Filmmakers were missing from the rally - Hong Kong Film Arts Association and Hong Kong Performing Artistes Guild.

Since Eric was the president of the Performing Artistes Guild, many accused him of being afraid to show his support due to his close relationship with TVB. Film producer, Stephen Shiu also alleged that Eric has contacted the Federation Chairman, Ng See Yuen, prior to the rally to ask him to withdraw from the protests and influenced the Film Arts Association to withdraw their attendance.

Eric has denied Stephen's allegations and stated that he has no say in the decisions made by the Film Arts Association.

In regards to the Guilds absence, Eric said, "Usually the Federation would not issue statements until its members reach a unanimous decision. I was in China at the time, but I also agreed to the call for transparency, not because of Ricky Wong and HKTV. I asked the Federation to meet and discuss the issue but Chairman Ng and Hong Kong Film Directors Guild's president Derek Yee continued with the press release without my consent."

He also denied having any special bond with TVB, saying, "From an actor's point of view, more TV licenses means more opportunities with us and the Guild has always been eager to help our members in that sense without having any political affiliations."

When asked why he still decided to resign, Eric replied, "I feel like I did not handle the matter satisfactorily. But my resignation has nothing to do with my relationship with TVB. I just want the ability to express my own opinions freely."

About 120,000 protesters dressed in black attended a rally led by HKTV staff members last weekend to protest the Hong Kong government's decision in regards to the free-to-air television licenses.

Although HKTV's Chairman Ricky Wong did not attend the demonstration on 20 October, he recently released his own statement of gratitude for the support of Hong Kong citizens.

Mingpao website reported that Ricky wrote, "12 million people were calling and it was truly inspiring. Today, we stand out, and everyone is concerned about whether the Hong Kong authorities have any respect to the wishes of the Hong Kong citizens, or whether or not Hong Kong really follows its laws and institutions.

I hope that after today, we can understand that there must be unity in Hong Kong, and not let the handful of extremist thinkers affect our mind. We will [work together and] strive to maintain Hong Kong's justice and rule of law.

On behalf of the company and colleagues, I thank you for your care and support. We will never give up and will fight to the end."

Among celebrities that attended the rally include Maggie Cheung, Frankie Lam, Yoyo Mung, Rain Lau, Shek Sau, Ursule Wong, Sam Chan and Power Chan.

Rumour has it that TVB is making Moses Chan their TV King this year, in a bid to make sure the actor will renew his contract with the company, HK Channel website reported.

Sources claimed that the decision to annul the implementation of one-person-one-vote system and return to the use of panel of jury is just a way for the company to award the actor the TV King title in addition to making his series "Will Power" an anniversary series.

An insider alleged, "Moses' contract is expiring early next year and TVB doesn't want to lose another one of their senior stars. Thus, [TVB General Manager] Mark Lee has arranged for him to win the TV King title, despite other popular contenders such as Francis Ng, Julian Cheung and last year's winner Wayne Lai."

Previously, TVB executive Virginia Lok stated that she has discussed the contract renewal with Moses, saying that things are going well. However, the company is starting to get worried as Moses has yet to make any decision and gave a lot of excuses not to discuss the renewal.

Meanwhile, it was also reported that Tavia Yeung, Ron Ng, and Raymond Lam may not be receiving any main awards at the ceremony in December, allegedly because they planned to leave TVB and pursue their careers elsewhere.

The 2013 TVB Anniversary Awards ceremony will be held on 16 December.

As reported on HK Channel website, source claimed that the Canadian restaurateur and his younger brother, Louis Kong failed to pay nine months' worth of rent for two of their restaurants, which totalled CAD 182,843 (approx. USD 177,414).

Both are located inside the Aberdeen Centre shopping mall in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. The brothers have been issued a warning in February by the property-owner, Fairchild Developments Limited, to pay the rent within five days.

The brothers had failed to make the payment and are currently being sued by the company.

When asked to comment on the issue, Fiona, who just gave birth to their daughter Alycia in August, replied, "I have never meddled in my husband's business. There is nothing for me to comment."

Meanwhile, Tropika's other branches in Cambie Street and Robson Street in downtown Vancouver are still in operation.

Rumour has it that while TVB is welcoming home their runaway artistes from HKTV, the company may not be as forgiving to certain stars, like gossip magnet, Maggie Cheung Ho-yee.

According to Oriental Daily website, the actress, who used to be one of the top actresses of TVB, fell out with the company in 2012, when she did not attend the promotional events for her series, "The Last Steep Ascent".

Sources claimed that the actress was acting difficult, and allegedly demanded a TV Queen award in exchange for a contract renewal. However, the company turned down her request as they had decided to implement a one-vote-per-person system that year.

Insiders stated, "TVB intended to create transparency to retain public interest, so it is believed that the company hesitated about negotiating with Maggie."

Other stars that allegedly may not be welcomed home by the company include Yoyo Mung, who was not very well-received by viewers in the first place; Felix Wong, who has been very vocal in criticising TVB; as well as Frankie Lam, who is known for his outspokenness.

However, when asked about the rumours, TVB Executive Virginia Lok dismissed such notions, saying, "TVB has always maintained a positive relationship with its artistes. These are pure speculations."

It was rumored back in the day Maggie Cheung demanded for the TV Queen title in exchanged for a contract renewal with TVB, but that didn't work out and her chances of returning to TVB declined significantly. It was also said she just purchased a new home, but now that HKTV failed to get their free-TV license, she's now unemployed and has no money to pay for her mortgage. Yesterday Maggie wrote a letter to fans and shared it on Weibo. She denied all the rumors and explained her thoughts.

Maggie expressed in the letter that she still has options. She has the courage to do the things she believes are worthwhile and meaningful. As for the speculations in the public, Maggie expressed she believes the people that understand her will understand. "I have never publicly defamed or criticized any individual, any corporation or entity. Of course I'm talking about TVB. It was my personal desire to leave, but we still have a good relationship, but for now I will not consider my personal direction. Neither I or my management has ever asked TVB to give me an award in exchange for a signed contract. TVB has never used awards to discuss the contract with me. I am not perfect, but I deeply believe the true way. I believe through hard work, my colleagues and I can create new hope and a turn for the better. I have never regretted choosing to develop in a new world and I won't regret it in the future. Success or failure, is not determined by me. As a Hong Konger and a member in showbiz, because of acknowledgement and intuition, I must and absolutely support and defend this belief."

Maggie finished off the letter with: "Teardrop is not because I'm unemployed, not because I have regrets, not because I have no money to pay for mortgage, not because I cannot pay for family expenses, but because my heart and my warm-blooded colleagues' hearts are broken together!"

Sharon Chan and Ben Wong were filming for TVB new series Midas at Tso Wo Hang Pier in Sai Kung. For the scene, Ben personally drove the motor boat and got into a minor accident with another boat. He almost injured Sharon's male stunts double, while Sharon shouted: "Scared me to death, a murder!" when she saw the crash. Sharon later joked: "I don't film these types of scenes, my poo will come right out!"

Ben expressed at the time there was about two seconds he didn't know how to react. "Initially I wasn't scared, but when Sharon screamed. Actually when I was parking the boat, there were waves that pushed the boat forward. (Was the owner of the motor boat upset?) No because there were life jackets in the boat. I didn't actually hit anything.

Later, the crew got back on the boat and went out to the sea for an in-water scene. When Ben pulled Sharon up from the water, another minor accident happened, she accidentally bumped her head on the boat. However, Sharon joked after her head bump, she got smarter: "I'm always hurting myself, its not a big deal." Asked if Ben scared her? She said: "Yeah! When the camera rolls, I look very brave, but behind the cameras I'm myself."

Also, Miriam Yeung and Taiwanese actor Vic Zhou (Zai Zai) were also shooting an in-water scene for Johnnie To's new film in Sai Kung. They were shooting in the water for about an hour. Miriam shouted at Zai Zai in the water: "Oh no, oh no!"

Hong Kong actor Moses Chan, who was recently spotted shopping for health products, has reportedly spent HK$500,000 (approximately S$80,000) on Chinese herbal tonics such as cordyceps and fish maw for his pregnant wife Aimee Chan.

At an event yesterday, Moses was reminded of his 'sweet proposal' to Aimee after he witnessed a man professing his love to his girlfriend in public. The actor, however, declined to divulge on the details of his proposal, claiming it to be 'too personal'.

'I spent a lot of time preparing for [the proposal]. Since it's something so private, I'd have to discuss with my wife before sharing about it,' he quipped.

In addition, the father-to-be said that he hopes to pass on his coffee-making skills to his son when he grows up. 'I make really good coffee. Aimee misses it very much because she is forbidden from drinking coffee now!'

When asked on his plans after his contract with TVB expires, Moses admitted that he is still considering his options as he is 'not young anymore'. The 42-year-old also named his family as priority when it comes to arranging his work schedule now.

Rumour has it that many HKTV artistes and employees are making their way back to TVB following HKTV's failure to obtain its free-to-air television license.

According to HK Channel website, TVB producer Lee Tim Sing recently admitted that he has been calling some of his former colleagues in HKTV since TVB needs more experienced crew members.

He stated, "I really hope to have my former buddies to return to TVB and help around. It's best to have experienced people in the business."

The producer had a difficult time filming "Bullet Brain" last year, when nearly half of TVB's crew left the company to work in HKTV, leaving him with inexperienced workers.

However, Lee stated that the decision depends on TVB, and added, "TVB offered them a raise but they decided to leave. If they come back, I reckon they will not get the original offer. But they have to understand that."

When asked about his thoughts, HKTV actor Frankie Lam stated while he will not reject the idea of returning to TVB one day, HKTV will always be number one in his heart.

While Al Wei admitted that TVB executives had approached him recently and will consider returning to TVB, Zac Kao stated that he will only return to TVB when he is desperate.

Rumour has it that actress Christine Ng has boycotted the promotional activities for her latest TVB drama, "Will Power", to show her dissatisfaction towards TVB's preferential treatment to Fala Chen.

HK Channel website reported that the 44-year-old actress was nowhere to be seen during the two promotional events last week, allegedly due to TVB's decision to emphasise Fala Chen's role in the drama rather than hers.

Sources claimed, "Christine is unhappy. In the series, her role is linked to lead stars Wayne Lai and Moses Chan in that her character has had relationships with them. Christine thought she would get more screen time. But TVB instead asked the producer to add more scenes with Fala and cut Christine's in a bid to get Fala to renew her contract with the company."

As a result, Christine spent her time vacationing in Paris with good friends Julian Cheung, Anita Yuen and Calvin Choy instead of attending TVB's activities, and said that TVB intentionally gave her roles in smaller productions despite the fact that she has stayed with the company for 17 years and starred in over 20 TVB dramas.

However, the producer of "Will Power" denied the allegations, "Although I do want the whole cast to attend the promotional events, [Christine] told me that her husband has some business in France and she needs to help him."

Jason Chan has been in the industry for 8 years and is one of TVB's currently heavily promoted artists. In the currently airing TVB series Will Power, Jason Chan plays a new lawyer in training "Ching Ka Ming", who came back from England and works in the same law firm as Wayne Lai's role as his apprentice. Jason said: "Ka Ming grew up in a single parent home, he is very filial to his mother. Will he turn bad? Not really, he later makes impulsive decisions and cause some conflicts at home." As for his other series Semi-Evil Person, which is currently filming now, Jason also plays a lawyer. "When I first heard the title of this series, I thought I had an opportunity to portray a villain, but it turns out my role just has a bad mouth. I'm often bickering with Roger Kwok and to get up top, I start spreading rumors. It's not considered a villain role." Many people have asked Jason whether he feels bored portraying the same well-behaved guy time after time, but finally no need to ask anymore, Jason expresses his thoughts: "Although I do hope to portray other types of roles, actually I don't mind continuing as a good boy nor will I purposely pursue a villain role."

Jason was born and raised in England, his family owns a Chinese restaurant and has two brothers -- one older and one younger. His elder brother is a dentist, while his younger brother is an optometrist. Jason is a graduate at the University of London School of Oriental and Africian Studies (SOAS). His family wanted him to become a professional too and had previously worked in administration at the a hospital in London for two years, but he thought the work was too boring. At the age of 25, Jason's childhood dreams of becoming a celebrity came back. Since he grew up watching Hong Kong TV series, and seeing stars like Daniel Wu and Wang Lee Hom joining the entertainment industry after coming back from oversea, plus he knew Cantonese, Mandarin and can read Chinese, Jason decided to give it a try too. Back in HK, Jason started out as an English tutor, then entered the 20th TVB Artistes Training Class in 2005. After graduation, he was sent out to TVB Pearl, the English channel, to host a life program. The pure and simple looking Jason later got the opportunity to participate in TV series, such as Be Home For Dinner's pastry chef and his first leading role Missing You as the social worker. With his excellent educational background, healthy image and good looks, no wonder Jason has so many school girl fans.

Late Entry in Showbiz Benefits

"Actually I think the most important is to work with seniors in every series. Just like this time in Will Power, I got to learn from Wayne Lai and Ah Mo (Moses Chan). I was really excited. Wayne has more scenes opposite of me, he frequently gives me pointers, like how to study the script. His wife and son often visits us on the set, I could see how much he loves his family and how great their relationship is. Compared to Wayne, Ah Mo is a funny person, like a big kid."

35 year old Jason started his acting career later than most artists, but fortunately he possesses a baby face and his personality is like a big kid. He's full of expressions when he speaks and the experienced he gained from society before entering the industry is a benefit too. "Many have said its easy to follow bad examples in showbiz, but I didn't enter until age 26. I've seen a lot more of life and know my direction in life, so its a benefit."

At first Jason used going to Mainland to find development opportunities as an excuse. He went back to HK without his family knowing and after entering TVB, he didn't have many jobs, and his elder brother had to financially support him. Jason frankly expressed his family started worrying about him: "I remember what my father said to me on the phone, if I'm not happy in HK, then come back and open up a restaurant." In the recent year, Jason is finally getting promoted, he's busy hosting a travel show and shooting TV series. Of course now, his family in England does not need to worry about him anymore. "My parents read all my news, but they usually give me a few 'kicks' as an encouragement, like they would tell me to get better in acting and when I have time, learn singing and dancing." Jason's family support is his driving force.

The New Generation "Seun Poon"

The previous "seun poon" Moses Chan is now a father, Jason Chan and his peers Kenneth Ma and Ruco Chan have been seen as the TV industry's "new generation seun poon". Jason laughed and said he's not like Moses, who can brew such nice coffee, but he isn't a gamer either. He is considered the type with taste, his greatest interest is researching watches. "I like to find out different brands of watches, their designs and history. I'm not up to the point where I'm collecting watches, but I like to go to watch stores to look at them. I do buy watches, but the most important is if it fits my liking. I don't like how some people just buy watches just because other people have them." Jason is still renting a home now, he hopes to save up quick and buy a home for himself soon, then find the 'seun poon' in his heart. "But the housing prices are just too high now, so I haven't been looking, haha."

When interviewing Raymond Lam, it is inevitable not to mention Karena Ng. Its like the couple is inseparable, footprints of their romance were left in Toyko, Okinawa, Milan, Los Angeles and of course Hong Kong. Raymond said: "A friend asked me before, will we take a walk on the streets? I asked the friend back, 'you don't take scrolls on the streets when your dating?' We are people too, how can we just stay at home?" I take scrolls on the street, but I'm not a celebrity.

Raymond and Karena's relationship surfaced in February and its been eight months of the couple continuously on the headlines or seen in the newspapers since then. The most memorable headline was Raymond's "7 love" declaration to KarenaBB. Does Raymond think his relationship is too high-profile? He answered in an angered tone: "When have I taken initiative to talk about my relationship? If the media didn't ask me, I wouldn't mention it. Every time I come out, I don't answer the relationship questions, but the media still asks anyway. I can only thank them for their concern. I cannot tell the media not to write about the course of my relationship. They write some and don't write some, its hard to find a balance. If you don't say anything, then others will be writing nonsense nonstop, but when I make a comment, some people will ask why I commented. Some people will even bash you. Will you speak up?" Once Raymond finished talking, his colleague quickly reminded the reporter in a warm voice: "Why don't you ask about his movies."

Forced into Haunted House by KarenaBB

Back to Raymond's movies, his new horror movie Baby Blues in which he stars with Janelle Sing, Kate Tsui and Karena is releasing soon. However, his girlfriend KarenaBB doesn't portray his wife, rather she's his sister-in-law. "I've never thought of participating in a ghost or horror film before. I like watching these types of movies, but I'm really afraid of going to watch it in the cinemas because there are so many people, I can't just scream out loud and if I don't scream, its not good for my health. I think haunt houses are great too, but never been to one because I don't like something suddenly popping out to scare me or something touching me. I'm afraid of the sudden and unexpected feeling. This year, I'll give it a try because I have someone forcing me to go." Raymond later admitted the "someone" he referred to his KarenaBB.

Longing to Work on Movies

In the movie, Raymond is a husband who loves his wife dearly, and in reality he believes he'll too be a good husband. "A good husband must have a sense of responsibility, placing his family in first place. Its a fundamental quality to have. If I wanted to go out to play after marriage, then its better not to get married in the first place."

Raymond longs for a married life, but in the past year he started developing more in the film industry and has high expectations. "Filming movies is a learning phase, I will portray any type of role because I never done it before. I don't want to be fixed on one type of role, and I don't want a movie to come out predictable. A good movie must present the features within a limited run time and let the audience be able to pick out any scene and remember which movie it came from. That is what is satisfying. An actor shouldn't choose the most convenient acting style to portray his role, otherwise its better to just work at a normal job." He's not an average worker, nor is he your average person.

Yesterday (10/20th) Yoyo Mung, Maggie Cheung, Frankie Lam, TVB artist Power Chan, his daughter and wife Mimi Lo (no longer TVB contracted) joined other HKTV artists in a large demonstration involving nearly 120,000 civilians wearing black and carrying large banners that read, "Give Me My Justice, Give Me My Television" and "Dissatisfied by Unclear and Unexplained Cause of Death" in front of the government building. Leila Tong rushed to the demonstration at around 5pm. Some supportive artists like Sheren Tang and Kelvin Kwan couldn't make it, but posted photos of them in black on Weibo to show their support.

Yoyo sat on the ground with thousands of other citizens in front of the government building and when asked about the HK$600,000 compensation? She said: "My manager and I have consensus, that is to give HKTV their space. They didn't break the contract. I'm more concerned on what's going to happen with the HKTV employees. I have no regrets, I bleed TVB's blood, I want the best for TVB, but that does not mean I don't want others to do well either." Power was asked whether he feared TVB might be unhappy that he's participating in the demonstration? He said TVB Chairman Norman Leung mentioned many years ago he appreciated Ricky Wong. He added: "I'm afraid of the government more than TVB."

Many artists took turns on stage to express their views. Rain Lau emotionally said in tears: "I never thought a housewife ("see lai") has to be in a demonstration! Relax, HKTV's Night Shift will continue filming tonight at Sham Shui Po." Some other HKTV artists sobbed that their dreams have been destroyed and that the government is unfair. Director So Man Chung expressed: "If the government doesn't provide an explanation for us, we won't leave! They aren't even giving us a chance to start. We'll be opening up the TV station tomorrow night right here!"

Kenix: How to Explain to Next Generation?

Frankie's wife Kenix Kwok made an angry comment on Weibo: "It is ridiculous that HKTV didn't get their license! The government stopping a major improvement in society is outrageous! Hong Kong is a city with a political system, but I'm afraid its being obliterated completely! Support the HKTV demonstration today; Support the HKTV artists with dreams and passion; Support the HK citizens that are fighting for justice! Through this licensing issue, I can see how unreasonable the Hong Kong government can be. How can you explain to the next generation?"

At the demonstration, there was a large screen airing TVB's cooking show Cook Away Lady hosted by May Jeh, the demonstrators shouted: "Change the channel! Change the channel!" Yesterday May Jeh responded in an interview: "My show's ratings has been very stable. TVB said I'm the longest running cooking show." One Netizen exclaimed: "Hong Kong people are so miserable, they don't have any choices. I'll just have to watch May Jeh or Super Trio!"

Ricky Wong had been preparing the new television station HKTV for a year now and on Tuesday, the government announced HKTV will not get their free-to-air TV license. Many HKTV artists and civilians were shocked to hear the disappointing news. A group formed "The People Lifts the TV Ban Movement", a protest that will be held tomorrow (Sunday). The organizers urged protesters to wear black as they march around the government building in hope to change the government's decision. Many HKTV artists have decided to come out to voice their dissatisfaction by joining in on the protest. Frankie Lam, Yoyo Mung, Dominic Lam, Noel Leung, Zac Koo and many former TVB veteran actors such as Al Wai will be participating. Unfortunately 'HKTV First Brother & Sister' Maggie Cheung and Felix Wong won't be able to make it.

Noel Leung accepted a telephone interview and disclosed she felt heartbroken while watching the HKTV series trailers. When speaking of the protest, she'll be supporting and even started sobbing as she spoke: "I'm just a simple artist, I don't want to participate in some political movement, but I want to get an understanding and be clear on why the government didn't approve the license. Everyone and the Hong Kong civilians should know what the reason was."

Al Wai expressed the moment he found out about the unapproved license, he was so upset he wanted to break the TV and disclosed he will be participating in the protest tomorrow.

Zac Koo and Zoey Shum urged civilians on Weibo to participate in the protest as well. Zac said: "We bring respect and passion. Saturday's protest, support the government in issuing the 'HKTV Friends' a license. Please come out and support us!" Zoey said in English: "This is our life. This is our dream."

As for Felix Wong, his assistant expressed on his behalf that Felix has to work on that day and won't be able to participate. However he will still be wearing black to show his support: "I wear it every day as a silent supporter." As for the "Celebrity Children" including Felix Wong's daughter Adrian Wong, Paul Chun's son Benji Chiang and Sek Sau's son Sam Chan expressed they have work on hand and have not decided whether to take part in the protest or not.

Yesterday Matt Yeung was at TVB City shooting for new series Semi-Evil Person. Earlier it was reported Matt and his girlfriend of 3 years were planning to get married at the end of the year, but unfortunately they broke up right before the marriage. In response to the rumor, Matt admitted since May of this year, after he finished shooting Outbound Love in Malaysia, he and his girlfriend separated. He disclosed during the course of the wedding preparations, the couple had too many arguments. He said: "We had too many arguments while deciding where to get married, she wanted to hold the wedding in the US, but I had to work and couldn't fly over there. (A pity?) Yeah, but it would've been a bigger problem if we decided to get married and then divorce, so its fortunate we split before signing the papers."

Matt also expressed because he didn't has as much time, thus he didn't contact his girlfriend as much. Asked how they're going to handle the wedding photos that they have already taken? He said: "Keep it for memories. (Do you feel like crying?) I do feel unhappy, but work can distract me from the unhappiness."

Moses said: "Its not about money, such a big event, I feel very honored to have the opportunity to be part of it." It was rumored he didn't want Aimee to go back to acting after childbirth? He said: "I'm her fan! If she's not going back to acting, then that's such a loss!" Aimee expressed modern women can handle both their career and family. Aimee disclosed her baby is most active when she's eating breakfast. Asked if she's attending more events to make more milk money? Moses answered on her behalf: "That is my responsibility!" She said: "I want him to choose a special time to see us, then at that time we can see how he actually looks like." Asked if her husband is really accommodating her? Moses answered for her again: "Of course! (Are you responsible in cooking too?) Yes! I'm a good cook and an excellent coffee brewer!"

Since February 28th, HKTV employed 561 full time employees, but after the government's decision that HKTV will not get their free-to-air license, Ricky Wong announced about 320 employees will be laid off.

Yesterday TVB chairman Norman Leung was asked if TVB will hire those HKTV artists whom were laid off? He said: "We will have to see if their work fits with TVB. It depends on whether it is necessary, if so TVB welcomes them back. We have many executives in the company, and the administrative staff switches here and there. We accept this fact, and there is no say that the cannot come back. The most important is being able to contribute to TVB."

Asked if he thinks this TV license issue is a black market operation? Norman Leung frankly expressed he does not dare to criticize the government. Norman expressed the two new free-to-air licenses were issued to large corporations, which is absolutely big competitors to TVB and encourage employees to make better programs.

Charmaine Sheh: "Never give up hope, everyone has expectations, just as long as you have strengths, there is nothing to fear. (Are you worried about your good friends Catherine Chau and Bryant Mak's prospects?) No worries, they are hard working artists. There will be a TV station who needs artists."

Fala Chen: "I'm more concerned about my former TVB colleagues. I'm very concerned about their prospects. (Recommend them to join iCable or Now?) I'm a junior, they should know how to handle it."

Chilam Cheung: I saw the news and didn't feel good. I am part of TVB, I have mixed feelings. As an artist, I want to shoot TVB series, but I'm also part of the audience.

Priscilla Wong: I have some friends working at HKTV, two of them have been laid off. They have a whole family to raise. As an employee in the TV industry, I hope everyone has a job. The HK TV industry is not easy, most important is to find jobs. (Help your friends to get into TVB?) I hope I have that ability too."

Felix Wong frankly expressed HKTV's failure to get their license is truly disappointing and hopes the government can explain the "death sentence". As for 300+ employees getting laid off? Felix said: "I would call it peaceful disband because there was no license to begin with nor was their normal operations. Disbanding is best for everyone. (How does this impact you?) Nope, I signed a per-series contract and all my work was done. I'm actually more worried about the 800+ employees." Felix disclosed his daughter Adrian Wong signed a 2 year contract, but is not in a hurry to find a back up.

Frankie Lam expressed when he learned the bad news, his jaw dropped completely. He said: "The chief said its all fair and public, but later said some things cannot be publicized. This government is contradicting."

Ha Yu does not have a contract with HKTV, so he is not worried, but asked if he'll return to TVB? He laughed: "That's all on TVB."

Leila Tong said: "Ricky Wong still has the heart and has faith on what he's doing. At first, I joined HKTV because I thought they really had sincerity and unanimous ideals. Regardless, I will not regret my decision."

Yuen Wah hasn't filmed a series with HKTV yet, he was initially scheduled to start shooting next month, but it was suddenly cancelled. He said: "I haven't received notice on the lay offs yet. I just think there some kind of black operation going on in the government this time and that they were just too harsh."

Deno Cheung & Al Wai Considers Changing Professions

Former TVB green leaf actor Deno Cheung left TVB after being with them for 18 years, and went over to HKTV. Yesterday Deno expressed he's helpless and stuttered he might consider changing professions: "I initially thought there was a lot of hope in being an actor, but now I'm getting strangled. I still have an 8 month contract with HKTV, I don't want to think about the prospects and I've thought about going into construction before." Asked if he'll have financial difficulties? Deno helplessly said: "Yes. Thanks to the government letting me apply for public housing."

Al Wai, also a former TVB artist, expressed the worse case scenario is to change professions. Al Wai disclosed Ricky Wong apologized to him, but Al is still positive and feels it is not Ricky's fault. "I was prepared to fight the war when I went to HKTV. There are causalities in wars, I don't think its that bad. There are two new TV stations, perhaps there are more opportunities."

Former TVB artist, Eddie Li, expressed he's grateful of Ricky Wong. "At my old company (TVB), I was eating 'tree bark', I had to compete with thousands of people, but at the new company (HKTV) it is a little better. I get to eat 'congee', at least this is something humans can consume and can be filling. I want to thank ricky Wong, thank you Mr. Wong for keeping me full. Respect."

Beniji Teared Up When Heard Bad News

Benji Chiang spoke to his manager on the phone about HKTV not being able to get their license and when he saw Ricky Wong in tears during the press conference, he teared up as well. he said: "Put so much effort into it and when I heard the news, I felt so sad and down. This TV license issue can really cause some artists to disappear in the HK TV industry forever. I still have 6 months left in my contract and the money I earned from filming their series before, I already used it to make music. If I don't have income in the future, I will use the money I saved before for living. My father (Paul Chun) comforted me. My sister (Lesley) is overseas now and knows about the issue and has very complex emotions."

Yesterday Niki Chow and DJ Eric Kot attended the event for Adidas Originals Superstar 2013 Autumn & Winter Collection. Niki complained she lost quite a bit of weight recently. Asked if her boyfriend Jeremy Jones' heart aches? She smiled sweetly: "I don't know how to answer. I think girls need to be slim and have a good figure."

Then Niki changed the subject and started talking about exercising. Niki expressed she's been very active lately and started getting into the habit of eating breakfast. Asked if she'll have breakfast with her boyfriend? Niki said: "If I see him, but we're thousand of miles away, how can we eat together?"

When speaking of HKTV failure to obtain TV license and announced they'll be laying off 300 employees? Niki said: "Too bad, but I signed with TVB and can only appear on TVB in Hong Kong. To me, it does not really affect me." Niki later accepted an iCable interview and oddly used did the interview in Mandarin.
