TVB new drama "The Ultimate Addiction", with main leads Bosco Wong, Kate Tsui, Nancy Wu, Ben Wong and Toby Leung, will be airing next Monday. Yesterday, the cast gathered at a seaview restaurant to promote the drama. TVB even spent a heavy 6 figure amount to connect live at the event with the main lead, Bosco, who was filming at Hengdian in Mainland. The artists who were at the venue made fun of Bosco, how was on the big screen, making it a very funny moment.

Kate laughed saying yesterday was the largest promotional event in history; broadcasting live in two places seems like something that would only happen at anniversary events; therefore she is very happy to be able to participate in such a heavily invested drama. She also revealed that TVB will also produce souvenirs to gift to the audience. Kate expressed that it's been a while (since she's been in a big production), so she feels it's very rare opportunity. Will she have pressure for ratings because of this? She replied: "We'll try our best! We still have a lot of promotional jobs. We will be going to the Shanghai TV Festival in the beginning of June, and will also promote the insert song she will sing for the drama. It's been a while since I sang, but there is no plans for releasing an album yet." Kate also laughed saying Bosco is very busy making RMB in Mainland, so she hopes he can return to Hong Kong as soon as possible to promote together and attend the TV Festival. Asked if Kate has any intimate scenes with Bosco in the drama? She stated that they do not, but she does with Nancy, so she feels she made a breakthrough. She explained the scene happens because Nancy suspected that she was a lesbian; therefore there is a kissing scene: "It's pretty intense, challenging the boundaries of TV. It was a little awkward, but it was more awkward for Nancy because she was the one taking initiative, and it was also very quiet on set!"

Nancy laughed stating that kissing Kate was even more nervewracking than kissing Bosco, who plays her husband in the drama, because she has never force kissed someone else. She even had to push Kate against the wall. Because she was afraid of hurting Kate, they NG-ed two times. She expressed that she and her good female friends will often give each other small pecks: "But actually force kissing someone and being force kissed by someone is not a good experience, because it is only one-sided, not mutual!" Nancy, who also has quite a few kissing scenes with Bosco, continued saying that this time is one of the more intimate experiences in her whole career. Asked if Kate or Bosco is better to kiss? She laughed saying the two are different; with Bosco, they are very normal husband-wife kissing scenes, but force kissing Kate felt more intense!

Gigi Lai, who has retired from the entertainment industry for 6 years already, showed up in front of the media for the grand opening of the new Central location of her brother's lasercare medical skin centre, which she took over. She expressed that she has been taking care of her family and teaching her daughters these past 6 years, and managing the lasercare medical skin centre. She expressed her feeling of the past 6 years with a bright smile, and said that she is living her life very happily and blissful, very stable and enriching. However, when her brother, who was in a serious car accident resulting in needing to be in a wheelchair and having troubles with speaking, was brought up, she could not stop her tears to the point that she couldn't speak. She expressed that all of this made her realize that she must live life to the fullest. Gigi did not directly reply whether she would have another baby, but she stated that she really loves kids and want to have many, and that she will let it flow.

Gigi, who wore a back-revealing outfit, looked in high spirits. Although she already left the entertainment industry for 6 years, but she understand that the media still wants to know how she is doing and her lifestyle, so she took this chance to tell everyone: "I am living very happily and blissful; stable and enriching. I really enjoy my family life, taking care of my three children and my husband."

Her brother can stand up sometimes

Gigi expressed that she used to think that she could only act, until 2007, when her brother was in a serious car accident, fate led her to taking over her brother's skincare business, and right now, her brother still needs to sit in a wheelchair and has trouble speaking. Speaking up to here, Gigi's eyes were red, and tears welled up in her eyes, and even cried till she couldn't speak up twice. She said that her brother's accident was her life's low point. She knew nothing about how to manage a business. During the three months that her brother was in a coma, she often cried, didn't know what to do, so there were many times when she wanted to give up the skincare centre. But everytime she reported to her brother about the company's situation, employees, and his family's support for him, he would always have a reaction, and his eyes would be full of hope and would have a big smile. This helped her strive on, no matter how difficult it was, she wanted to continue her brother's hard work and sincerity. She said: "My biggest wish is you... I will quietly wait you to recover one day, stand backup, and tell everyone, I will try my best." She revealed that her brother can stand up sometimes, but movement is still hard, so he needs a wheelchair and a lot of treatment. She hopes that her brother can practice more in speech, to speak more and become more fluent.

Helping children in Mainland mountain areas

Gigi revealed that her husband was heartwrenched to see her working so late in the beginning, and did not agree for her to manage the skincare centre. She said: "My husband wished that I could have a comfortable and happy life after marriage, but knowing why I wanted to continue, and that my wish was to form a team to help the poor children in Mainland mountain areas to improve their skin conditions and find their self-confidence, he greatly supported me."

Competing with daughters everyday

Speaking of her husband and her three children (4 year old twin girls, and a two year old younger daughter), she showed a bright, happy smile, and said other than her 8 hours of sleep, the rest of the time, she has given to her family and the company - pickup her daughters after school, swimming with them, going to lessons, hiking, running, going to the park and taking care of her husband; even more enriching than filming. Gigi said: "Children grow so fast. Thinking back to when I was pregnant and giving birth, life seemd to have passed by in the blink of an eye, making me realize that we must live life to the fullest. Seeing them grow day by day, I also know I've grown old another day too. The feeling is miraculous. They start to speak more, and using weird ways to say "I want candy, want toys" and talking back to me. If they cannot win me, they won't give up. Don't know if it's because the milk formulas and food nutrition is good nowadays, they are very different from when I was 3, 4 years old. I have to fight with them in IQ and strength everyday, and teach them the principles of life. Other than saying it, I also have to show them."

Teach kids the most important thing is morality

Gigi revealed that she is not an overly nervous parent, nor would she accept herself to become one. She believes that what they should care for is for the children to grow up happily and feel that they grew up in a blissful environment. She stated: "I hope they can do okay in school. The marks aren't important, the personality is most important. They must learn the principles of morality. This is the number one thing when I teach my children." Asked if she will have more kids? She expressed that she really likes children, the skincare centre is also her "baby", and she also wants many "babies".

Enforced clearly: Will not return to the entertainment industry

In terms of whether she will return to filming? Gigi strongly and clearly enforced that she will not. Although there have been directors and crew members who have asked her whether she would make a comeback to filming or not, she is currently focused on her family, and she also has to take care of the business. There is no way for her to take time out. Everyone has different stages in life. At this current stage, she is very satisfied.

35 years old this year, Shirley Yeung, who was the 2001 Miss Hong Kong Pageant Champion, was with TVB for 13 years. Her personality is the type that doesn't know how to join the crowd, doesn't know how to bow and scrape to the executives; therefore the chances she's been given by the company has been quite little. In addition to her three sided love rumours with Gregory Lee and Hanson Wu, it's been rumoured that the company was not happy with her and resulted in getting frozen. In the past few years, she's continuously requested for some drama roles to the company, but they ignored her wishes. Recently, her contract with TVB has ended. TVB is willing to renew her contract, however the terms were not ideal. After some long and deep thinking, for her daughter, she's decided to take a risk and go out into the free world, and hopes to find her breakthrough.

Having recently returned to being "freelance", Shirley now does not have TVB as her patron. With no manager, her road ahead is still blurry, she must now depend on herself to earn money to raise her daughter. Yesterday, Shirley accepted an interview with our magazine, and admitted that she and TVB have terminated their contract. Regarding rumours that TVB's renewal contract terms are very harsh, such as a big drop in salary and being kicked out of the manager department, Shirley commented: "My decision to leave has nothing to do with salary. The truth is that it isn't as harsh as the reports say it is. In fact, they even increased my salary, but it's just that we could not come to a consenus in terms of drama filming, so I made this decision in the end."

Don't want to look back

Shirley expressed that she has constantly voiced to the company on her requests to film more dramas, but they never fulfilled her requests. She said: "They say they will try their best and arrange it. These past few years, I haven't had the chance to film any dramas, only been filming variety shows. My youth is limited, I think it is the right time now to try some new things." (Are you disappointed with TVB?) She said: "We should always look forward in life, and not look back and talk about the past. I believe tomorrow will be even better."

In the past few years, there have been quite a few TVB artistes who have left the company. Other than the salary being low and the lack of chance to grow, was her decision affected by this "trend" of artistes leaving? She replied: "Everyone is their own individual self, I don't think it's really about following the crowd, it's more about seeing what you need. It's just that at this moment in time, I've chosen to try another direction, learn some new things and enrich knowledge."

Shirley, who is raising her two year old daughter, Krystal Yeung Cheung Wing, by herself, has been struggling with her contract renewal decision for quite some time. She said: "When it's around the time of the contract expiring, you will start thinking of the direction of your path. This decision is like the intersection point of your life. One is a devil, one is an angel, which one should I listen to? But when you've made the decision, then you will feel really relaxed, and you know where you want to go." She expressed that there were quite a few friends who believed that "a big tree is a good shelter", and that not renewing the contract is very risky, but Shirley said: "There are also people who support me, and believes that I can do it. As long as I try my best, no matter where I go, it will be the same. If I take more initiative, I will try and strive for more different jobs." She continued: "In my 13 years with the company, I've learned quite a lot for a period of time. I want to learn some more new things, or go to different places to film and learn from others. You ask me if I'm taking a risk, it certainly may be a challenge. Where there's risk, there's a chance, this is an opportunity."

Finding opportunities in Mainland

Asked about her future direction, Shirley expressed that she does not have to worry for the moment. There are quite a few jobs being arranged right now, including some management companies who she is discussing with. She even said: "I want to try some new things right now. First of all is filming dramas, so I will go to Mainland to see if there are any dramas I can film. I believe if I open up, opportunities will come." In terms of family, Shirley had already made plans early on: "My mother and I have agreed, for now, my mom will take care of my daughter. Technology is advanced now, we can chat on the phone, so I will know what is happening with my daughter."

Let nature takes course and I wish to be simple. (Under great pressure?) We face stress regardless of the occupation and it depends on how we manage. I am okay but my memory is poor. (Did it affect your mood?) Ok. We film the Pilgrimage to Football Meccas for two months and the filming process is difficult. Thus, I feel quite touched upon watching it. (Edwin disclosed your relationship with him is better while you are filming in South America?) At that time, I am working hard and the wifi signal there is very poor. We do not get to chat everyday and I prefer to let nature takes course. (Worry any obstacles in your relationship?) It is hard for me to answer and let nature takes course."

Mother's Day is considered an international big occasion. While everybody was posting the photos with their mothers, Maggie Cheung (張可頤) wrote her thoughts about the Mother's Day and other holidays on her blog: "I am thinking how to celebrate Mother's Day, Father's Day and Valentine's Day and we should care more about filial piety or love? Is it because we are used to these 'business' ocassions and must post our photos on FB/ WB which is then considered big occasions? If we can love or being loved everyday, why we should exaggerate the occasion? Anyway, it is over and one feels sad if one cannot love any longer."

Edwin Siu and Gigi Ho's relationship has always been unclear. However, there were rumours stating that a relationship between Edwin and Priscillia Wong had sparked because of filming on set together. Afterwards, Priscillia was photographed going to Edwin's apartment; therefore being labelled as a "third party". When Priscillia responded to the rumours the day before, she did not deny the relationship, and asked everyone to give them some space. Yesterday, Edwin accepted an interview on "Scoop", and admitted that he is pursuing Priscillia.

Edwin stated during the interview that while they were filming for "Madam Cutie On Duty", he felt that Priscillia really puts a lot of effort in filming. When they finished filming, they still kept contact and their relationship is getting better and better and he hopes they can develop a relationship; and that everyone can give them their blessings.

Edwin continued: "This is the first time pursuing a girl in front of the camera, it's quite big news. I hope that these reports won't affect her because I always see the reports describing her as a third party. It is definitely not like that! I have been single for quite a while already; everything that has happened is only between us."

Praised as very innocent

When Edwin returned to TVB City to film for "Commercial War" at 7pm last night, he defended Priscillia the whole time when he was interviewed: "When I saw the reports, I felt helpless for Priscillia, having to face this by herself. I want to come out to say a few words." He emphasized that Priscillia is a good girl, very innocent. Asked if the two are dating? He said: "We want to. (Aren't you with Gigi Ho?) Actually I have been single for a long time already, but I don't want to talk about the past, because I don't like to talk about my relationships, but recently, magazines have been against us and being negative, so I want to help Priscillia get her justice."

About Priscillia and Edwin being intimate at his apartment, Edwin replied: "It's a bit overboard. (Living together?) Impossible. (Gigi Ho is a victim?) She may not be talking about this, many things are always taken from Weibo and getting twisted, I haven't contacted her recently, you guys can ask her." He also stated that he and Gigi are friends. Asked again about Priscillia's positive traits? Edwin laughed: "She is an otaku goddess, and I am an otaku! She is very very innocent, so that's why I can be so brave!" Since Priscillia is quite popular with netizens, asked if he will be afraid that she will be criticized? Edwin replied: "Have to take this risk!"

Last night, Gigi posted on Weibo saying: "I don't want to make any response, but suddenly, a phrase has floated inside my head: "The evil cannot win the good!" " Looks like the situation is not as simple as Edwin says it is.

Since winning the 2004 Miss Hong Kong Pageant, it has been ten years since Kate Tsui started her acting career. Yet, she still finds it hard to adjust to the many pressures faced as an actress. In a recent interview, Kate admitted she often cried behind the camera to relieve her inner state of anxiety.

As it was Kate’s first time acting in a comedy, Bounty Lady posed many difficult challenges. Adding to the pressure, she knew viewers had high expectations due to costar Dayo Wong’s comeback. During the first two weeks of filming, Kate was so nervous that she headed over to the side and cried once the camera stopped rolling. Fortunately, Dayo not only provided emotional support, but also helped Kate immerse in her character and adjust to the script.

Kate often cried a lot as a child, but her strict father hit her until she stopped. Throughout the years, she had learned to be strong, but things changed once again after joining the industry. Kate expressed, “It’s like suddenly turning on the water tap. I experience big emotional waves, but as an artiste, I must take care of my image. I can’t appear to be very fragile. With a large amount of pressure and such long work hours, a weak person would have to pick up her bags and leave within three days! So am I considered a strong person all the time? Not really!”

Recently, things have been looking better for Kate. She has turned to yoga practices in order to unwind from her busy work schedules. Through the sessions, Kate has mastered new breathing techniques in order to calm and relax herself. She greatly enjoys the activity, since it has been very beneficial to her well-being. Kate admitted it is hard for her to earn viewers’ favor, especially when she often portrays unlikeable roles. “The characters I portray always appear very rough. There’s a lot of room for me to develop, but the audience either loves it or hates it. It’s like that every single time, and so it’s hard for me to be accepted. Usually, family viewers prefer Linda Chung’s good-girl image. But if I were to play a good girl, viewers may say, ‘Why is Kate pretending to be all innocent?’”

Thus, it came as a surprise when Kate took home the My Favorite Female Character Award in 2012. In her acceptance speech, Kate expressed she has never thought she would be an audience favorite. She found the award to be highly significant, since it was a sign that people are finally starting to accept her. As a celebrity, Kate needs extra time to better understand a dating partner. One of her boyfriends in the past turned out to only like her image as an artiste, rather than her personality. Kate announced, “If I date anyone, I will inform the public for sure. It’s just that I haven’t found the man I can be with forever yet.”

Kate added that her ideal future boyfriend would be someone outside the entertainment industry. She revealed her main reason, “I can’t watch him hug and kiss other girls! Even if I know it’s only for filming purposes, I still won’t be able to stand it!”

After receiving live broadcasting permission of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, TVB recruited its artistes to help promote the event, which begins on June 12. To foster more noise and publicity, the station filmed a music video that will air in an upcoming episode of Scoop.

For the music video, a large group of TVB’s artistes dressed in colorful outfits to dance and sing joyously in front of the camera. Those present included Raymond Lam, Charmaine Sheh, Kenneth Ma, Moses Chan, Kate Tsui, Myolie Wu, Linda Chung, Priscilla Wong, Edwin Siu, and Vincent Wong.

Raymond showed off his “chok” looks as Charmaine and Sharon Chan festively circled around him. When Krystal Tin appeared, Wong Cho Lam and Louis Yuen suddenly popped out to join her in a hilarious warm-up dance. Cho Lam wriggled around with half of his jacket draped on, while Krystal was also in high spirits. Standing next to them was Kenneth, who is known as being shy and thus initially appeared awkward in the situation. However, he later joined the masses and dance along.

Edwin teamed up with beauty pageant winners Grace Chan and Eliza Sam in an energetic dance. Meanwhile, Priscilla partnered up with good costar, Tony Hung. In addition, a group of artistes from both "The Voice of the Stars" and "The Voice" sang songs to show off their musical talent. Among the group were Grace Wong, Fred Cheng, Ronald Law, Hoffman Cheng, Hubert Wu, Alfred Hui, and Jinny Ng.

Though their relationship seemed going nowwhere, but neither took the initative to separate. As Bosco was currently filming series in Mainland China and both were in different countries, thus they 'drag' their relationship. As such, Vanessa was under tremendous pressure and felt depressed upon facing the media alone. (Hao Bao) took a photo of Vanessa and her friends in the pub at the Central (中環) and it was evident that Vanessa was tired and deep in thought, as she had no knowledge even when her cab was snatched by someone. During the waiting, she kept yawning and looked like under tremendous pressure.

As for Vanessa's good friend who saw Vanessa was extremely unhappy, they accompany her and advise her to give up this relationship. Some of her friends believed in religion and hoped to use it to reduce her sufferings. Last Friday (2 May) around 7 plus, (Hao Bao) took a photo of her leaving from the apartment to Lei Yue Mun and had dinner together with her friends including the singer, Samantha Lam (林志美). Her friends were devoted in religion and during the dinner, they kept using religion to make her relax and forget her pain. Vanessa listened very attentively and looked happier with some smiles after the dinner, but returned to her apartment in Lei King Wan instead of Mid-Levels.

Currently, Bosco was filming series in Hengdian and was the one to 'drag' their relationship. While waiting to film, Bosco will play with his phone and go to supermarket to buy some groceries alone after the filming. Attending an event in Mainland China earlier, Bosco appeared to be flirty and wave his hands to his fans. However, when the reporters asked if his girlfriend, Vanessa Yeung visited him in Hengdian, Bosco appeared uneasy and said "Nope!" (Are you cooking because of Vanessa Yeung?) I cook for myself to eat!" He added on that he enjoyed filming in Mainland China and placed the food into his mouth which signified no reply to any questions.

Yesterday, Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) attended a mobile event at Causeway Bay (銅鑼灣) and many fans were waiting for her in the rainy weather. She said "My apology as everyone has to wait for me under the rainy weather and I will try my best to cherish them." Earlier, there was a report pointing that Kate Tsui (徐子珊) had recently replaced Linda to become the slimming celebrity spokeperson. Linda laughed and said "I did read the report and will not work with the advertisement company for 3 years if we are unhappy working together. I am happy working with the advertisement company and understand that the change of spokeperson is to match the new promotion campaign and theme. Also, it is normal to change to a new spokeperson." Linda then highlighted her manager had already informed her about their decision.

Does not mind wearing bikini

When asked if she minded wearing bikini for advertisement just like Kate Tsui, Linda said "Depends on the feel. Wearing a bikini does not matter as long as it is healthy and matches the advertisement company." Mentioned about Kate Tsui showed off her bust measurement in a bikini image, Linda defended her and said "The photo is very beautiful and Kate is very pretty. Perhaps the words used by the magazine becomes unrelated to the feeling of healthy image. I feel that the photo is indeed very beautiful and healthy."

The reporters continued to ask if she needed to obtain permission from her boyfriend to wear bikini, Linda said "I will make the decision if it is related to work. My family and friends trust me and I am not required to inform them." Finally, Linda denied that she lost the celebrity spokeperson fee of 3 millions dollars which was made up by the magazine only. She said "I am very contented with what I own now and currently negotiating with new advertisement deals."

Female artiste Carman Lee (李若彤) and Rachel Lee (李麗珍) and other members of M Club (Younger version) including Anjaylia Chan (陳嘉寶), Kandy Wong (黃山怡), Jeannie Chan (陳瀅), Annie G (吳燕安) and Winkilai (賴慰玲) attended the promotion campaign for the series, Never Dance Alone (女人俱樂部) in Tsuen Wan (荃灣).

Carman felt very high and expressed during the interview that she could feel the power of TVB City after filming the series and many audiences wished to share script with her, and even her relative's friend could recognise her. Carman said "My relative asks me daily about the schedule of my series as she really wants to watch it. Many small kids recognise me when I go to the kindergarden and mention they see me on the television too. Earlier, my relative also recognise Lawrence Ng (吳啟華) when he appears on the magazine cover and tells him that she is my friend. (Overjoyed and will continue to film series?) Not too sure but I will consider if there is a suitable role or even a motherly role. (Satisfied with the series' ratings?) As an actress, it does not bother me but many friends watch online. Moreover, many people go for a vacation on 1st May which is a public holiday. Hope the ratings will increase later."

Carman laughed and said the series reminded her of many memories especially when she had a crush on her teacher during secondary two: "It is silly of me that I keep thinking about him and tell him to remember me when I give him my photograph before he leaves. I do not think I will be that daring given the opportunity now."
