With the fate of HKTV's free-to-air licenses is still blurry, a lot of former TVB actors were welcomed back to the station, except for a few artistes, which have been rumoured to be banned by the company.

According to HK Channel, despite HKTV's attempts at releasing several interesting looking trailers for their series, the lack of a TV license caused issues for the company, as interests of the media and public began to wane.

This resulted in a lot of former TVB stars whose annual contract with HKTV will be expiring any time soon, deciding to return to TVB instead.

The news was received with a warm welcome by TVB Deputy Director of External Affairs, Tsang Sing Ming, who stressed that the station will accept any stars with the desire to return.

However, it was rumoured that this is not the case for everybody, and that several names such as Felix Wong, Wilson Tsui, Ha Yu and Lo Hoi Pang, who left TVB after accusing the station of unjust treatment, will not be accepted into the company.

Nonetheless, Wilson is positive that the ban will be lifted, seeing that the old TVB management has been replaced by new people.

The actor stated, "Of course, nobody would be happy being blacklisted. I only had a problem with the old boss [General Manager Mark Lee]. The company has a new boss now. I'm actually free at the moment and they can call me if they need me."

TVB actor Ron Ng revealed that he has no intentions of settling down at the moment, but hopes to marry a non-celebrity when the time comes.

As reported on HK Channel, the "Triumph In The Skies II" actor, who recently dismissed relationship rumours with actress Kelly Fu, disclosed that he has no intentions of dating anybody at the moment.

"I want to focus on my career," said the 33-year-old actor, who confidently added that he will be able to get married regardless of his age.

However, Ron revealed that he wishes to marry someone outside of show business, saying that being with an actress would narrow their scope of interaction.

"We will have nothing to talk about at home. I already know almost everything about filming. There is no need to be with another person who knows the same thing. What else there is to do then? Gossiping about other artistes?"

Although he would not completely reject the idea of dating another artiste, Ron is not convinced about being in a relationship at the moment, as his busy schedule will only cause trouble for his relationship.
The actor further added that he dislikes clingy girls and that certain types of women may not understand his personality and ways of thinking.

"I like to keep things to myself and women whom I dated in the past thought that I kept secrets from them. That's when the conflict begins," he said.

Actress Mandy Wong denied her relationship with Tse Sui Luen Jewellery's Deputy Director, Anthony Jim, for the second time after being caught having a dinner date together recently, and stressed that the two of them are just friends.

HK Channel reported that the "Sergeant Tabloid" actress was seen having a candlelight dinner with Anthony at a restaurant situated at The Peak a few days ago. The couple were seated at a quiet corner, presumably to avoid attention, and spent hours talking to each other without realising the presence of the paparazzi nearby.

They left the premise separately around 11pm, but then met each other to walk to the parking lot before exiting the area in Anthony's Mercedes Benz, heading for Happy Valley where his Villa Rocha apartment is situated.

However, Mandy insisted that it was just a simple meal between friends.

The actress exclaimed, "I have been busy with work and had no time to go out for lunch or dinner with friends. It has also been a long while since I visited The Peak, so Anthony called me and invited me for a meal. It was not a romantic dinner. The restaurant lit all the candles to light up the place since it was night time."

Mandy admitted that they have known each other for nine months, but disclosed that they are not in a romantic relationship with each other.

When asked why she left the place with Anthony in his Benz, Mandy explained that she left her car at his place as she did not know how to go to The Peak from the island area where she was working the same day.

However, Mandy hinted that she does not rule out the possibility of dating Anthony in future, saying, "I have been filming nonstop this year. If I have the time, I will try to understand the 'script' first. One can't know a person after just a meal."

Actress Joey Meng finally addressed rumours about being bullied at the set of her period drama in mainland China in June, Oriental Daily reported.

Previously, it was alleged that the actress had been experiencing a hard time shooting her mainland drama as she was reportedly given scripts at the last minute.

Although the actress declined to talk about the rumours earlier, she finally made clarified at an event in Sheung Wan recently, saying, "It was not as bad as how it was reported. Actors should communicate with each other before filming. That way we can all prepare our roles according to script."

In regards to the food situation, Joey said that it was only a misunderstanding, as she was the only vegetarian on the set.

"The food crew forgot about that, but it's not their fault," she humbly added.

Yesterday Priscilla Wong, Raymond Wong, Cilla Lok, Whitney Hui and Fred Cheng attended the promotional event for TVB series Karma Rider. Cilla appeared with a low-cut top, she showed off her shoulders and career line. Whitney was dressed rather conservatively, but Cilla got a 'discount' from the fat seen on both sides of her waist.

Cilla just turned 27, she smiled and said she deliberately started dressing more maturely, but the public's reaction is only average: "Everyone said they aren't used to it. I was just too much like a little sister in the past. (Do you not want to play little sister roles anymore?) No, see how the director wants it. I am lifting dumbbells at home to keep fit and my figure isn't as great as Whitney's."

Priscilla Wong was excited to hear Chow Yun Fat publicly complimenting her. She said: "So touching. I've been really pressured lately, there has been a lot of criticisms on the series, but when I heard his compliment, I felt so sweet at heart."

Fred has had a major job increase since The Voice of Stars. Asked if he received a "big check" as a reward? He laughed: "I'm not sure how much yet, the most important is to keep the jobs going."

Yoyo Mung recently signed a per-series contract with HKTV. Yesterday she attended the press conference of her debut HKTV series Sky Net with the lead actor Frankie Lam. At the press conference, the event organizer sent out two young "Q version Yoyo" out to give Frankie a kiss and pushed out a birthday cake to celebrate Yoyo's August 3rd birthday. Yoyo laughed and said there is a rumor in the public that she signed a million dollar HKTV contract, she said: "That's just a rumor! After all, I'm satisfied! Actually the sincerity is more important than the money. I know I have fighting scenes this time around, they signed me up for boxing and shooting classes. They're trying to brush up my skills in this area! (What's your birthday wish?) Have work continuously." According to HKTV, the company especially hired an instructor to teach Yoyo Close Quarters Combat.

When speaking of the TV license issue, Frankie and Yoyo both expressed they are not worried. Frankie said: "The license will be issued sooner or later." Ricky Wong is thankful for Chow Yun Fat's support of obtaining TV license. He denied the rumor that HKTV artists are leaving the company in groups. "Just one or two artists left. We have 250 artists, later the number will increase to 300." He does not rule out the chances that he may do more "poaching" of artists.

Also, HKTV's other series My Mother is a Black Rose went through a huge cut of already filmed scenes, wasting HK$2 million. The serial was originally 30 episodes, but has been cut down to 9 episodes. Ricky said: "Actually its not just that amount, but we have to control quality. There is no reason why a glass of orange juice should be forced diluted to three glasses."

Wong Cho Nam's new film THE MIDAS TOUCH (CHIU CUP GAING LEI YUN) will soon open. In the film he is rich. In one scene he went topless into the swimming pool to cheer up 8 pseudo models.

The always funny Cho Nam made a variety of "seductive" poses to display his masculinity and attract pseudo models; he used all his strength to suck in his gut. Already thin he displayed his ribs. With an expression that was more chok than Raymond Lam Fung, pseudo models laughed so hard that they almost could not work.

Cho Nam joked that this scene was quite sad. "As soon as everyone saw me they just kept laughing. Imagine if Gum Sing Mo (Takeshi Kaneshiro) did the same move, the ladies' reaction probably would b 'how cool'!"

Hong Kong actors Chow Yun Fat, Nicholas Tse and Chapman To attended the press conference of director Wong Jing’s new film From Vegas to Macau at TVB’s headquarters yesterday.

At the event, Chow Yun Fat said that the last time he acted in a Hong Kong production was almost 30 years ago. The international film star helped lighten the mood at the press conference by making jibes at his co-stars, especially Nicholas. “I watched Nicholas grow up. 30 years later, he is already married with kids,” he said.

Nicholas immediately responded to the veteran’s comment by exclaiming, “I’m divorced!”

His reply prompted Chow Yun Fat to continue with his friendly banter as the 58-year-old teased, “Sorry I’m not sure about your affairs. You’re faster than me even in divorce [matters]!”

Although the veteran actor plays a highly skilled gambler in the film, Wong Jing emphasised that his latest project is not linked to the classic hit movie God of Gamblers. The director revealed that all characters in From Vegas to Macau are unique and that Nicholas Tse will star as a man who hopes to become the gambler’s disciple.

In addition, Chow Yun Fat also shared that one of the reasons why he took up the role was because of Nicholas. “His father (Patrick Tse) treated me very well when we used to work together. Now I will return the favour. I will bully him on set whenever I can!” he joked.

I'm going to really busy in the next half year and I'm currently shooting Tiger Cubs II. Its just a normal dinner with a friend." The reporter mentioned the two were having a candlelight dinner? Mandy laughed loudly: "No! We just finished taking pictures. Lately didn't have to go to work as much, so have some time to eat out with friends. She was also spotted going to her "boyfriend" house to chat all night? Mandy denied: "Of course not! Whatever we needed to talk about, we could during dinner!" She explained that night, she didn't drive to The Peak because she wasn't familiar with the roads, so she parked her car at Anthony's place and they carpooled there.

Asked if the chances are high that Anthony may become her boyfriend? She said: "Need more time to get to know him. I'm been filming series after series in the past year, most of my time is spent on studying the scripts and just having a few dinner dates won't be too helpful."

Fala Chen had always been a tough one, but she also has her weak spots. During Triumph in the Skies II filming, Francis Ng made her cry for the first time since her entry into the industry and Chilam Cheung pointed out to her that she should learn to be a woman all over again. Fala admitted she had been too tough in the past and its time for her to learn to be a little weaker.

FALA: Collaborating with Francis Ng, people say he's very strict, but in reality I am even stricter than him. Perhaps I was stubborn before, I cared too much about the details and always asked why? It may be because Francis has more experience than me, he really understood what advice I needed. That time when we were working together, I felt like I was taking a class. Sometimes he would come up with something new and creative on the set. If I didn't get it, then I would have to go back and write down my notes to reflect on it. One time we were filming in the studio for a scene where I have to break down facing towards an imaginary sky. I thought the first take was ok, and I could do better. The director was actually pleased and told everyone to go change, then move on to a new setting. Francis said to me, "you are like that, there may not necessarily be a take two every time. You have to hit it as soon as the cameras roll. Finish speaking and leave." Then I left the studio and was packing my suitcase, but my tears just came running down! That was the first time I cried since I've entered the industry. The guys came over to comfort me, but I held it in and hid in the restroom to cry some more. Later I did another intense scene with Francis. We rehearsed the script on the side and when we felt it was right, the cameras rolled. Watching the playbacks, Francis, the director and I went for a group hug because we really felt pleased with the results.

Chilam Reminds Fala to be more "Woman"

Chilam plays a relaxed character, and had given me a lot of space. We communicated well. Chilam is different from Francis, he doesn't directly point things out on the set, but actually he's been observing all along. After we got to know each other more, he came to me one day and said, "Fala Chen, whether you are an artist or just being yourself, you don't have to be so stiff and tough. Have some gentleness of a woman, then others will like you no matter what." Chilam asked me if I knew what was the most beautiful part of me. The most touching part was the moment I was crying while packing my suitcase. He said he watched me from behind, I was so gentle and pitiful, that's what a woman is. Chilam's comments gave me a reminder, I've always tried to be strong in my personality and my relationships, I don't want to show the weak side, but does a human being really have to be that tough? And not get hurt at all? Chilam made me understand that a woman should have a gentle and weaker side. I borrowed Holiday's lost moments, sometimes when a girl is exhausted, she can show others that you've been hurt. Thank you Chilam for your blunt advice.

Strenuous Being a Lead Actress

Taking a break from series filming for two months, I actually found my direction: I want to be an artist, there is no other job that is better than an artist! June 2013, I decided to take an acting class in the U.S. Many people thought this decision was sudden, but I actually had this thought for about 4-5 years. At first, I thought being a lead actress was too strenuous, so I skipped the TVB Artistes Training Class, I fumbled around myself and went down too many wrong paths. An artist consumes a lot of physical strength and brain power, even consume our own feelings to the audience, so you absorb and experience to become a better artist. I've read a book on acting, but the book I couldn't put the book's teachings into practice. Ultimately I waited for this time period to go take a course, the opportunity is rare because there are many people around the world registering for this course, but only a handful are chosen! I hope to become an even better artist and contribute to performing arts.

Many times words are like a sharp weapon, like spilling water, once its out, you cannot take it back. Before you say it, you are the master, but after it comes out, it is the master. From Miss HK until obtaining the TV Queen title, Myolie Wu has endured through the entertainment industry for over ten years. Aside from her one relationship with Bosco Wong, she did not have other rumors. She frankly expressed: "I am a cautious person."

Although Myolie portrays loud characters, the real Myolie is actually very very quiet. Regarding her ex, she wasn't aggressive about it, even saying half a word about him was considered too much. Regarding her career, she takes up the TV Queen title with many threatening gestures, but that does not mean Miss Wu isn't ambitious. Myolie's next goal is hoping to reach another level, "I want to be Maggie Cheung Man Yuk the most....while she's serious towards her work, she also enjoys life."

Its difficult for Bosco Wong's name not to come up during the interview. The two met during Triumph in the Skies filming and then love sparked during their War of In-Laws collaboration. Bosco had a playboy image and the public didn't support their relationship. It wasn't until Myolie made her "love declaration" in her TV Queen acceptance speech that they publicized the relationship. Unfortunately, they officially broke up last year. It was shocking news, is the 7 year itch really a curse? Myolie said with an awkward smile: "I'm not talking about my ex!" What about their group picture earlier at a TVB event? "I'm not talking about it anymore, its been so long, the readers aren't interested anymore."

Likes Summer, Finds Zoe Annoying

It's hard to force relationships, but at work, she can make her own decisions. In the current popular hit Triumph in the Skies II, Myolie plays the familiar outgoing Zoe for one episode, but then she changes into the cool Summer. The two characters have different personalities, its clear-cut, but to this TV Queen, its not too challenging.

"I really like the role as Summer, she's similar to me. She's very quiet and calm; she just communicates through her eyes." The majority of the audience like Zoe more because of her outgoing nature. "I don't like that. She's just too outgoing, is there a person that positive?! She's always so loud and talkative, its annoying. Zoe's personality is the complete opposite of me."

Earlier another cast member Kelly Fu praised this senior of hers (Myolie) isn't arrogant. Myolie was pleased to hear this. "Just give some advice! Kelly is a very pretty girl. When I first met her, I thought such a pretty girl probably won't put much effort into her work, but she really worked hard. I watch people carefully, since we're able to click, then I will treat her well."

A Strong Independent Woman

Now as a TV Queen, Myolie has reached the peak and will have to think of something, "I know the TVB directors and crew too well. It's hard to create any new sparks, therefore I'm giving Mainland dramas a try. I will be heading to Mongolia soon and I'm really excited, but I cannot focus entirely in the Mainland market, after all I want to keep my Hong Kong popularity. I want a balance."

Before showbiz, Myolie studied in Northern Ireland and developed a self-reliant personality, "I'm used to independence." Not just that, she's getting stronger and strong; she won't rely on other people to survive. "After I finished my studies, I was preparing to go back to HK and carried around five big suitcases myself. I carried them from the bus to the airport and when they weighed my luggage, it was about 100kg (220lbs). Luckily the staff were really nice and didn't count it against me."

I Live In the Mid-Levels

After graduation, Myolie relied on herself and recently she moved into a joint unit Cheung Sha Wan neighboring her sister. We teased Myolie asking her why she didn't move into the Mid-Levels after becoming TV Queen to show off her new value? "Aren't I living in the Cheung Sha Wah Mid-Levels?!" Sticking to her elder sister, isn't that like a little girl? "I just moved next door, more convenient. I love my family, I don't have to stick with them all the time, just as long as I know they are safe and sound."

Caring for both her family and career, won't rely on others? "I want to be Maggie Cheung Man Yuk. I know I'm still far from that, but I really admire her 'make the way she lives her life'. She's serious about her work, but she also enjoys life as well."

To be Maggie Cheung, you have to hold up to being lonely. Myolie said: "I'll be working hard to earn money within the next few years, then I'm moving to a place where nobody knows me. I could be gone for continuing studies or work at a convenience store, I just want to really experience life." How about getting married? "Wah! I'm a workaholic. Supporting a husband and raising children isn't right for me, at least at this moment, that won't happen!"

Myolie's Tips

Q: What type of dress code do you usually like to wear?
A: I'm very tomboy, I like leather, jeans and boyish styles.

Q: How do you maintain your skin to its best state?
A: Sometimes I use a facial mask. Eat healthier foods. Maintaining inside and out.

According to Hong Kong media reports, Julian Cheung have gained so much weight in recent months that he had lost the lean figure he had during his latest drama Triumph in the Skies II.

The 42-year-old, who showed off a suave image as pilot “Captain Cool” in the drama, won the adoration of many fans, some of whom were amazed at how fit he looks even in his 40s.

However, during a family vacation to Singapore recently, the actor was spotted with a pot belly while having a swim with his son. The photographs showed a rounder looking Julian with obvious love handles – a stark difference to his image in Triumph in the Skies II. It is speculated that he has gained about 9kg of weight.

Julian’s weight gain was said to be because of his wife, actress Anita Yuen, who is afraid that her husband would stray if he maintained his lean and mean body.

The older Anita, who lost her svelte figure after having a son, had set out to keep him well-fed after filming for his drama ended seven months ago. The actress also reportedly takes charge of finances in the household and has the final say on the female co-stars her hubby could collaborate with.

An insider source said, “If Julian had to do intimate scenes with flirty or well-endowed female artists in a drama, Anita will never agree to it.”

On the other hand, Anita is said to feel more at ease if the female co-stars were people with relatively little scandals, like Myolie Wu and Fala Chen.

Actor Raymond Lam has not been focusing well during his filming in Hendian, as he missed his girlfriend Karena Ng, who is in Hong Kong, which caused the filming crew much distress.

As reported on HK Channel, a production crew member of Raymond's upcoming drama, "The First Empress" recently complained, "The weather has been really hot and it's hard to film period dramas in a 40-degree weather. The lead actress Wang Luodan also does not get along very well with Raymond until now."

He revealed that Raymond suddenly took leave to go back to Hong Kong, allegedly to meet up with Karena, which caused more issues on set.

The crew member stated, "When he is not around, we had to use a body double. Action scenes may be easy to film with body doubles, but not other scenes. Even when we use one, we still have to re-shoot when he returns. We're not happy with this."

It was also reported that Raymond finally decided to take Karena Ng with him to Hengdian after his return to Hong Kong on 13 July, so that they can spend more time together.

The actress was spotted accompanying Raymond to the film set on 15 May and stayed inside his car while Raymond worked.

Yesterday 21 year old 'lengmo' Keiko disclosed to [Oriental Daily] she had a relationship with Steven Cheung 4-5 years ago. At the time, the 24 year old Steven went on a few dates with Keiko and then got her to sleep with him. After their one-night stand, they broke up because Steven neglected her.

But yesterday Steven denied several times of ever dating Keiko in a phone interview. He only admitted their one-night stand, but does not acknowledge her as a girlfriend. He said: "There was indeed an one-night stand. I've done a lot of bad things in the past. (It was with Keiko?) Actually I don't know her Chinese or English name. It was only after a friend send me the article that I remembered this incident." He admitted Keiko was his "one-night stand" sex partner, but after that one night, they were not in contact again. Keiko teased he "completed the work" in a few minutes. Steven helplessly said: "Whatever, its just a matter of opinion."

Asked if he's upset with Keiko for disclosing his privacy? Steven generously expressed he is not upset. He will face his mistake with courage and be responsible for what he did. He said: "I blame myself. Men has their needs, its just too bad I was lascivious! But after I started believing in God, I've been striving hard to change my bad habits. Give me some time." Steven expressed he's currently busy filming series and preparing for his new gospel album, so he has no time or interest to look at the Lengmos' photo books. Steven expressed if he does see Keiko again, he will feel awkward, but will still greet her or he can be friends with her too. He is not worried of other Lengmos exposing things.

Keiko accepted a phone interview as well. In regards to Steven denying ever dating her? She insisted: "I have dated him before. I'm not afraid to admit it. Guys are just lowly! (He said he just had one-night stand with you!) He has bad memory!" To prove she's not lying, Keiko recalled how Steven pursued her. She said Steven used the excuse of him being a public figure and it wasn't convenient for him to go out in public, so he wanted her to go to his house. When they were dating, Steven called her nonstop expressing his love and kept telling her: "I really love you, I really miss you." He told Keiko his rumors with Sherman Chung were just for entertainment news.

Turned Cold After One Night Stand

Claiming she really loved Steven, Keiko said: "We dated for a month before having sex. He was the first guy I had an intimate relationship with. At the time I was just 17 years old." But then Keiko turned around and criticized he was heartless and was a two-timer. "After that night, he was really cold to me. He even called me and said Sherman Chung got very upset because the media found out we were dating. He wanted me to call Sherman to explain. After I called Sherman to tell her Steven and I weren't together, me and Steven were no longer in contact." Keiko expressed after she was miserably abandoned, she felt so heartbroken she fell into depression and thought about committing suicide. She was fortunate to have family and friends comfort her, that she was able to get back up and start over.

Sherman Chung: Don't Mention the Past

When Sherman learned about Steven admitting about his past relationship, she said: "I'm proud of him. I've watched him grow and after all I've known him for too long. When I saw his news, I knew the people who love him won't be happy about this. Also, I don't want to talk about the past." Sherman greatly supported Steven is a true man. "He is very brave. He just bluntly admitted it. I know he's learning to be a responsible man. I will pray for him, it's a part of growing up and the process of maturing. The Steven today is not the same as the Steven from the past."
