After years of marriage discord and divorce rumors, Hawick Lau (劉愷威) and Yang Mi (楊冪) have finally announced their divorce in an official statement today. The two got married in 2014 and had a daughter, Noemie, in June of the same year. The divorce rumors were especially rampant this year when the two former couple’s online interactions were reduced. Not only that, Yang Mi had posted a picture of only herself during Mid-Autumn festival, making many question why Hawick Lau and Noemie were missing.

The official statement says:

“Thank you to everyone for your love and support for Hawick Lau and Yang Mi. Through both parties careful consideration, they have decided to relay the following message through our management company: The couple have already signed the divorce papers, amicably splitting up this year and ending their marriage.

This decision was carefully considered with respect by both parties. Although they won’t be living together as a married couple anymore, both parties will take on the role as a family member to take care and raise their child together. At the same time, they will wish well of each other’s future as friends.

Both artists used the media’s public resources for their own personal affairs, troubling everyone. For this, we extend our sincerest apologies. At the same time, in order to protect the child and both families, after this statement is public, both parties will no longer respond to this matter. We hope the media and the public will respect their wishes and give them their own space. Please don’t bother their child or either party’s families.

Once again, thanks to the media and the public for their concern, support, and love. The both of them will continue to work hard and live well. Thanks!”

Leanne Li (李亞男) has given birth to baby girl, Gabrielle on the 17th. The new mother posted the good news on Instagram yesterday. Wong Cho Lam (王祖藍), revealed Gabrielle is 7.1 pounds. He shares, “During the delivery, the doctor put on Jacky Cheung’s “Love You More Each Day.” So it felt no different than her getting gel nails done. The whole process only took 10+ minutes or so, when I finally saw her. I cut a bit of the umbilical cord ceremonially because the doctor had already cut it during the C-section.” Wong Cho Lam also jokes, “Her eyes look like mommy’s, but unfortunately, her nose and mouth looks like mine. I’ve heard daughters change when they turn 18. I will pray for her, hoping she will look more like mommy.”

Wong Cho Lam revealed he didn’t carry baby Gabrielle until a week later. He says, “I’m afraid I will cry if I carry her. I have to nourish my voice for the musical. So after the musical ends, I will have a good cry. On Leanne Li’s condition, Wong Cho Lam shares that she was still in pain after the C-section and had to take pain killers. However, he says that Leanne Li looks really happy looking at their daughter while she’s breastfeeding. He says he chose the right wife and said Leanne Li is a good mother.

When asked what push present he plans on giving to Leanne Li, he says, “After her postnatal care, we will go to Japan and eat sashimi. She hasn’t eaten it for a year.” On their plans on having another baby, he shares, “I’ve heard you have to wait 6 months after the C-section. I want to have one sooner because I’m getting old.” On whether he wants to have a boy, Wong Cho Lam says, “It’s up to fate.”

Jackie Chan’s (成龍) daughter with Elaine Ng (吳綺莉), Etta Ng (吳卓林), recently returned to Hong Kong as a married woman with her Canadian wife, Andi.  It has been quite tumultuous for her and her family as she came out as a lesbian and left home to be with Andi in Canada last year.  Her struggles in Canada were also documented when she and Andi were publicly asking for financial assistance and even tried to look for Jackie Chan as a last resort.

“He’s actually not bad or good in my eyes because I don’t know him.”
Etta Ng and Andi recently sat down with Apple Daily for an exclusive interview.  They talk about their relationship and future and also bring up Etta Ng’s relationships with her father, Jackie Chan.  When asked if she’s ever seen her father before, Etta Ng, who has been given the moniker “Little Dragon Girl” by the media, responds, “I’ve never seen him.  You asking me if I’ve ever seen him is like me asking you.   The level of familiarity I have with him is about the same as yours.  He’s actually not bad or good in my eyes because I don’t know him.  I won’t judge a person I don’t know.  I know when I was younger I said some impulsive things, but right now my mental health is much more balanced.  I believe people will do wrong things sometimes.  However much wrong you did, is your life, not my life.  I don’t even care.  But it’s really weird.  Once I was born, everyone knew who I was.  I don’t even know who I am.  Everyone is looking at me and waiting to see how I die or how I end up.  I’m thinking to myself, what?”

When asked if it was stressful being Jackie Chan’s daughter, Etta Ng says, “It’s true.  That’s why I was really unhappy before.  It was the hardest for me when I was going to school in China.  People thought I had a relationship with my father and would say things like “rich girl, rich girl.”  I don’t even want to talk about that school, but those teachers are also useless.  I was on the ground being kicked.  A teacher passes by and says, “Don’t be like that.”  They stop and the teacher leaves, but they continue kicking.”

“I’ve never thought about getting anything from him.”
Jackie Chan once revealed in an interview that he was leaving half of his estimated 3 billion HKD fortune to his wife, Joan Lin (林鳳嬌) and son,  Jaycee Chan (房祖名), while the other half is being donated to charity.  In Jackie Chan’s latest memoir, there was no mention of Etta Ng at all.  On these comments, she expresses, “I don’t want anything from him.  And I don’t mind,  I’m not hurt.  It’s really none of my business.  It’s good that he’s donating to charity, but maybe I think too much, like where is his money going and how is it being used?  In the end, I don’t care.”

About the video of her searching for Jackie Chan, Etta Ng says, “When I was looking for my father, there were a lot of things I didn’t know.  I wasn’t trying to get money from him or money from anyone else.  Everyone who watched the video said, “You want money, you want money.”  No, I was confused.  I was scared.  I have mental health problem sometimes.  I feel like a lot of things have made me lost.  In a way, yes, it was a cry for help, but it was a cry for help for information.  If I meet him, I’ll say, “Yo, what’s up dude.  That’s cool.  Can you give me some info? Like what happened when I was young?  Why is my mom like this? I need answers.”

On Rumors of Jaycee Chan Reaching Out to Help
On whether she has met her brother, Jaycee Chan, Etta Ng says no, but the reporter presses on and mentions the rumors of him once helping her and even going out to have dinner together.  To this, Etta Ng says, “No, there was no such thing.  I don’t know him.  We have blood relations.  Like Mr. (Jackie) Chan, I don’t know you.  I don’t hate you.  I don’t love you.  I don’t have any feelings about him.  I only know if his existence.  That’s all.”  On why she changed her last name from Ng to Zen, she says, “I was never a Chan.  I want my own identity.  Zen is really just to remind myself to be calm.”

On Her Relationship with Andi
Etta Ng says about her relationship with Andi, “I understand everyone’s thinking. “You’re only 19 and don’t know what you’re thinking.  You’re rushing to get married.  You don’t know what you’re doing.  You guys will break up in a few years.”  No way.  I know what I’m doing.  She is perfect.  I don’t know how you want me to explain it.”

On the public’s opinion about Andi only being with her for money, Etta Ng says, “When we first met, she didn’t know I was the daughter of someone famous.  I tried my best to explain myself.  As for people saying she’s after my money, I don’t have any money!  So I don’t know what people think.  It’s funny to me.”

Etta Ng also shares she already knew she was gay in the 6th grade.  In order to appease her mother, she had once tried going out with a boy, but she felt it was wrong and hard to accept.  On Elaine Ng not accepting Andi, Etta Ng says, “I don’t think she would dare say it to the media, but I think she’s a traditional woman, it’s hard for her to accept.  When she sends me a message, it will say, “Tell your friend” not “Tell your wife.”  Andi is the person I love the most in the world.  My mom is my mom.  Every child wishes for their mom to accept their significant other.  I think this takes time to slowly adapt.  Maybe it’s too shocking all of a sudden for her to accept change.  So give her some time.  Of course I hope she accepts her, but we have to take it slow.  We can’t force things.”

It has almost been two weeks since the lascivious behavior of TVB actor, Hugo Wong, was revealed by his female fan and occasional hook up buddy, Michelle.  Hugo Wong was accused by Michelle of impregnating her, who is currently 18 weeks along, and then “disappearing” and ignoring her after she told him about it.  Shortly afterwards, another “victim” of Hugo Wong’s sexual advances, singer, TikChi, exposed previous conversations she had with the actor, which shows him asking her to sleep with him on multiple occasions even after she declined.  Yesterday, the actor appeared in good spirits at TVB’s annual artists dinner and even spoke with reporters about his recent news.

Hugo Wong expressed he is taking a short vacation after filming for “Airport Security Unit” is finished.  When asked about TikChi’s recent claims about his sexual advances, he said he didn’t have anything to say.  When asked if his image has been affected, he says, “We first have to be ourselves and do our best.  Actors are role models.  As actors and as normal people, we need to do our best.”  Reporters asked if he is scared of women now, he says, “There’s nothing to be scared of.  You can’t avoid fate when the right timing comes.”  When asked if TVB scolded him for this, he says, “I was frank with them and they have an understanding on what happened.”  On whether he’ll be more careful in the future, he chuckles and says, “Of course.”

After this interview came out, Michelle was livid and cursed him out.  She also shared pictures of her at the hospital with Oriental Daily.  She reveals she is having an abortion in Guangzhou today.  As for Hugo Wong denying he is the father of her baby as he claims they only had sex once over a year and a half ago, she says he’s lying.  Michelle reveals, “A man who makes the woman pay for the room when he is the one asking for sex, what do you think?”  Michelle also shared pictures of the hotel where she and Hugo Wong allegedly met to hookup in July.  She says, “I want to laugh at all his previous comments.  Saying we hooked up at my place and not a hotel.  The next day, I must’ve scared him off.  He was smoking downstairs and quickly came up to make me delete our conversations.  He should get a best actor award for his acting.”

Pissed at TVB and Virginia Lok
Michelle also shared, “A person who has prior history of wrong doing, how can he continue to be in front of the camera?  Even after the news came out, he hasn’t contacted me.  I tried to look for him around the end of July.  He doesn’t respond to me through any platform or text messages.  He’s always like this.  What is TVB’s attitude on the matter?  Didn’t an executive say they wouldn’t be giving him new work right now? But yesterday’s news said he will continue working hard.  The company even told him to be more careful.  My god.  Are they telling him to be more careful the next time he hooks up with someone?  I can’t deal with much right now.  I just want to know what the hell Virginia Lok (樂易玲) is doing.”

Michelle says after her body recovers from the surgery, she will continue to make him accountable.  Because of the countless times he has hurt her plus the judgment from netizens, Michelle says she is suffering from depression.  She sent a clip of her crying to Oriental Daily and said, “Lately, I’ve been crying every day.  I’ve been depressed for more than a year already.  He once cried and told me he regretted making me suffer.  Now that I think about it, it’s very ironic.  It seems like I’ve never understood this person, it’s very strange.  Regarding the Hiromi Wada incident, he said he was sad for a year.  In the end, he was already hooking up four months later.  Reality is cruel.”

If you watched the 2018 TVB Anniversary Awards show, then you would have witnessed the unexpected bomb Edwin Siu dropped.  In his thank you speech, he thanked his “wife”, Priscilla Wong, stealing the show from everyone else, even if everyone was shocked/upset that Ali Lee won “Best Actress” over Alice Chan.

After the ceremony, Edwin Siu shared they were already married since April/May of this year in New Zealand.  He also shares his first proposal to Priscilla Wong failed.  He says, “The first time, I proposed to Priscilla while we were on the rollercoaster.  We were on the fastest rollercoaster in Europe.  Who knew I would get so scared when I got up there.  I took the ring out and told her to look at it, but no matter what she wouldn’t look at it.  I was afraid the ring would fall, in the end, this mission was not successful.”

As for the second proposal, Edwin Siu says, “Why don’t you guys ask her? I am a bit shy.  I don’t want to reveal too much.  I wanted to use a simple way to complete the mission.  I’ve been wanting to tell everyone since we registered our marriage, but things happened along the way.  Kevin (Cheng) got married, then it was Ruco’s turn to get married.  All of a sudden, Grace (Chan) got pregnant, but I couldn’t say anything.  So I think today was an auspicious day and good opportunity to announce it to the entire Hong Kong audience.”

Edwin Siu shares it was only them two at the civil ceremony, but they told their family afterwards.  When asked about holding a wedding banquet, he says, “We will see.  We wanted to do it privately by going on vacation and getting married.  I don’t know why we chose New Zealand, but Priscilla is a travel expert.  She was the one who chose it.  It was hard to sync our schedules.  Even the witness was a local person.”  Edwin Siu also reveals Priscilla Wong didn’t know he was going to announce their marriage tonight, but he couldn’t keep it a secret any longer.

As for the second proposal, Priscilla Wong reveals, “I proposed to him by the river.  There were no pretty clothes or setting.  We couldn’t even find a pair of fitting rings.  We arrived at a small village and found a pair of rings made from kitchenware…just like that.  At that moment, we didn’t have anything, but we had each other.  The witness asked me, why is it each other?  He said, “She is a person, who if she forgot about me in the next lifetime, I will tap her head, then she will remember me.  Then we will be together again.  She is that person.”  I said, “He is a person, who is always by my side whenever I fall, comforting me while I’m crying and bleeding until I calm down.  Then he picks me up and continues leading me.  He is that person.  What we gave each other is the promise to be there for each other.  There was no extravagant romance, but it’s enough.  We are Edwin Siu and Priscilla Wong.  That day, a rainbow appeared in the sky.  This was the best blessing.”

Another actress is off the market as Niki Chow (周勵淇) announced her marriage on Instagram today.  The 39 year old actress posted a picture of her with husband and Chinese actor, Fu Hongming (傅浤鳴), with the following message:  “We got married. We’re heading into the next chapter of our lives.  Everything is turning out to be the best arrangement.  Sharing the news with everyone here.”

Niki Chow’s company, EEG, also released an official statement on the news: “Thank you to everyone who has always supported and cared about Niki Chow.  Niki Chow has officially announced to all her friends that she has gotten married.  She and her husband, Fu Hongming, chose to have a simple wedding ceremony with only their families present.  They are opening a new chapter in their lives.  The company would also like to congratulate the new couple.  Wishing them a happy marriage and at the same time, thank those who have supported and congratulated Niki Chow, on her behalf.”

When reporters dug up information on Fu Hongming, it was discovered the 45 year old actor was once married to Chinese actress, Cheng Su (程愫) for twenty years.  The two also have a son, but in March last year, the two suddenly got a divorce.  Three months after their divorce, he was rumored to be dating Niki Chow, painting her to be the third party in his marriage.

The couple met in 2014 while filming a Chinese series called “卧底” (Undercover?).  The two played a couple in the series.  It was reported the two would often meet up and talk on the phone to get into their characters.  Fu Hongming was once seen flying to Hong Kong to see Niki Chow shortly after his divorce.

Third Party and Shotgun Wedding?
When Oriental Daily reached out to Niki Chow’s older sister, Kathy Chow (周汶錡), about her marriage, she revealed, “The wedding was actually last month.  You’ll have to ask her about the wedding details.  She’s always wanted a simple, but grand wedding.”  As for her brother in law, Kathy Chow says, “He’s very good.  We all like him a lot.  He treats Niki very well, loves her a lot.”

About the rumors of Niki Chow being a third party to Fu Hongming’s marriage, Kathy Chow vehemently denies it and shares, “Of course not.  People will circulate all kinds of rumors.  We won’t care about what people say.  The most important thing is they’re happy.”  On whether Niki Chow had a shotgun wedding, Kathy Chow also denies it saying, “Definitely not, but I do want her to have kids earlier so they can play with my kids.”

It is reported the two were dating for some time before deciding to get married.  They had their wedding overseas at the end of November and went on their honeymoon afterwards.  The couple just returned to Hong Kong yesterday.

Up and coming TVB actress, Tiffany Lau (劉穎鏇), attended a Christmas function yesterday with good pal and “Fist Fight” (兄弟) co-star, Kaman Kong (江嘉敏), in Tsim Tsa Tsui.  Tiffany Lau revealed she will be having a get together with her fans during the holidays.  Kaman Kong also says she wants to hold a fans gathering and invite Tiffany Lau as her guest.  When asked if her fans have increased on her social media accounts, Tiffany Lau says, “A lot of people have noticed me through “Fist Fight.”  I hope it’ll keep on increasing like the series rating.”  When asked if she will be giving any goodies to compensate for the good ratings, Tiffany Lau says, “I’ll take more pretty pictures.  Kaman and I will help each other take pictures.  In England, we even took pictures in bed.”  On whether she’ll be taking bikini pictures, Tiffany Lau says, “It’s winter right now, I’m afraid of the cold.  I’ve been keeping it to myself long term.”  As for Kaman Kong, she says, “Don’t bother me!”

When asked about the rumors of TVB forbidding Tiffany Lau and Wu Fei (胡㻗) from dating, she says, “From the beginning, I’ve always clarified we were good friends.  I don’t know why so many stories have been fabricated about us.”  On whether TVB has asked them to avoid seeing each other so much, Tiffany Lau says, “The company wouldn’t specifically say that.  They totally understand what happened to us.”  When asked about Wu Fei’s earlier comments to avoid driving her home, Tiffany Lau responds, “Really? I didn’t know he said that.  Maybe he wants to respect everyone so it doesn’t impact everyone’s work.”

Dicky Cheung’s (張衞健) “The Learning Curve of a Warlord” (大帥哥) is gaining popularity after originally being passed over for TVB’s other anniversary series.  Many netizens even said Dicky Cheung has what it takes to compete for “Best Actor” with TVB’s “own sons.”  However, it was once widely rumored 22 years ago that after he got popular portraying the “Monkey King”, he requested a pay raise from TVB.  It was alleged TVB told him, “You’re nothing without the hair.”, insinuating Dicky Cheung was not worth anything outside of his portrayal as the “Monkey King.”  It was rumored Dicky Cheung left TVB because of their response.

Through an interview with Oriental Daily, Dicky Cheung clarified, “I have to clear up something.  It wasn’t someone from TVB who said that to me.  This person was actually a senior in the movie industry.  He invited me to talk about a film at a coffee shop.  The role didn’t require gluing on hair.  It turns out some people can be very extreme when they want to lowball you.  That phrase hurt me deeply.  I got so mad, I immediately left.”  Dicky Cheung also says those words deeply impacted him when he was a young actor trying to hustle.  He says, “Back then, I really thought, ‘If I wasn’t the Monkey King, I wouldn’t make it?’.  Then, I thought, shit, I was already in my 30’s.”

Dicky Cheung wouldn’t reveal that person’s name, but said he’s not angry anymore.  He said, “When I think about it, I think of two “F” letters words.  It’s “forgive” and “forget.”  Once I forgive, I will delete the incident.  Even if I see that person again, it won’t be awkward.  When asked if he’s kept his head bald to prove that “Dicky Cheung without hair can still make it”, he says, “Yes and no.  At that time, I had to shave my head to film a Qing dynasty series.  Anyway, I rely on my skills…and a little bit of good looks.”

When talking about him taking one for the team by returning back to TVB even though he is worth a few hundred million dollars (HKD), Dicky Cheung says, “I have a cheap life.  So far, I’ve never filmed a series comfortably that would explode in popularity.  Every time, people will say this is the best of the best.  Filming is pretty exhausting.  So I think to myself, I was born with a hard life, but if I don’t suffer, how would we get all the fortunes in the world?"

The past few weeks have been plagued with news reporting that Vincent Wong (王浩信), 34, and Yoyo Chen (陳自瑤), 36, are at the brink of divorce. There’s been talk that the couple, who have been married since 2011, were experiencing problems in their marriage and are already living separately. Their 6-year-old daughter is also reportedly living with her grandparents.

In her first public appearance since the rumors first started, Yoyo denied all reports about their succumb to marital change. However, the actress was not wearing her wedding ring at the event.
“I really don’t know how a situation that even I don’t know about could be written in such a realistic fashion,” said the TVB actress. “Everyone has such creative minds.”

Yoyo then clarified that rumors of their separation were all false. “One, I never brought up divorce. Two, I never kicked my husband out of the house. And three, our little girl is still living with us. I don’t how these rumors started, but I want to say now that none of those stories were true.” Asking why Vincent had to move into a different apartment in their building, she said, “You can say that it’s his office. Besides being an actor, he also does business… sometimes it’s not as convenient for him to do it around the house.” On the reports that Vincent purchased a new apartment for his mother instead of for her, Yoyo said Vincent did tell her about it, and she supports his decision.

However, when Yoyo was asked if her relationship with Vincent is still loving, she said, “We never changed. Still husband and wife.” Pointing out that she’s not wearing her wedding ring, Yoyo explained, “I actually don’t wear it often! When we’re working or filming, we usually don’t wear the ring. It could get lost, so I don’t wear it.”

In regard to the rumor that Vincent had neglected her after winning TV King last year, she said, “That’s reasonable. He’s doing well in his career, and I am very happy for him. I also had a period of time when I filmed a lot. Maybe I neglected him then!”

Yoyo was unclear in her response about Vincent’s recent social media post, which showed their daughter drawing a picture. Asking if Yoyo was the one who was holding the camera, she said, “Maybe!” She added that they rarely upload family photos on social media anyways.

The actress did not wish to respond to any more questions about their marriage, saying, “The more I respond, the more people are going to talk.”

TVB actor, Hugo Wong (黃子恆), who gained some popularity through the series “OMG, Your Honour,” is in the news again for another scandal.  Hugo Wong’s previous scandal happened two years ago when it was alleged he was the third party in singer, Hiromi Wada’s (和田裕美) marriage.  Luckily, TVB still gave him work despite the rumors.  This time, it has been reported the 36 year-old actor was in a relationship with a fan of his from China.  It is said the two had an intimate relationship and once the fan found out she was pregnant, he went missing.  The female fan has incriminating evidence of Hugo Wong allegedly crying and claiming he was wrong in a voice recording and message chats.  Hugo Wong admitted yesterday that he did have a relationship with this fan, but insists they only had intercourse once.  He denies being the father of her baby and doesn’t mind getting a DNA test to confirm paternity!

Michelle, who is 28 years old this year, claims she is Hugo Wong’s super fan.  She first met him at his Guangzhou fan meeting on April 30, 2017.  The two had kept in contact with each other through private messaging on Weibo.  Michelle had quickly told Hugo Wong she had a present for him a week after meeting.  The two planned to meet at a service apartment in Shenzhen under the excuse of giving him the present.  Michelle claims, “At first, we were just watching tv.  Then, he told me to take a shower.  Later on, he came in too.  Though he wasn’t very direct in saying to have sex, but in the end we ended up doing it.”  When asked if she refused it, she said, “No, because I am young.  He is my idol, the person I like.”  After the encounter, Hugo Wong didn’t look for her in six months.  They would have short conversations from time to time, but didn’t mention the status of their relationship.

Since their relationship status was not defined, Michelle was really heartbroken.  She said she wouldn’t leave the house for three months or eat properly.  News about Michelle quickly circulated to the fans group.  The reactions were mixed with half of the group supporting her.  Michelle says Hugo Wong is just trying to protect himself.  He came out to diffuse the situation by admitting they’re good friends, but claims they had some misunderstandings along the way.  He even asked another fan to say good things about him, hoping Michelle would give him another chance.  Michelle says Hugo Wong told her he felt regret and wanted to commit suicide.

Michelle says the two became friends again in January.  They maintained that relationship until July.  The both of them met up again in Shenzhen and she alleges the two had intercourse again.  Hugo Wong disappeared once again after the encounter.  Shortly afterwards, Michelle discovered she was pregnant.  She says every time she looks for Hugo Wong, he doesn’t respond.  Michelle says, “He is a scumbag!  My goal right now is to destroy his career.  I am four months pregnant.  It’s a bit uncomfortable right now and I have decided not to keep the baby.”  When asked if she is getting an abortion, Michelle says, “Of course.  How old am I?  This is my first pregnancy.  Even though it’s dangerous, but it’s better to get it done quickly.”  As to Hugo Wong claiming they only had intercourse once, Michelle says, “He can say whatever he wants.  It doesn’t matter.  Nothing he says is true.”

The following is the conversation between Oriental Daily News and Hugo Wong:

Reporter: How many times did you two have intercourse?

Hugo Wong: It was only once.  The first time we met was last April at the fan meeting.  After that, we both went our separate ways.  A week after the fan meeting, she said she had a present for me.  That day was our second time meeting.

Reporter: The second meeting, did you receive the present in your hotel room?

Hugo Wong: No, it was where she lived.  It was a service apartment in Shenzhen.  Before the fan meeting, we actually knew each other.  We interacted on Weibo.  I thought the first time meeting each other at the fan meeting would be a good setting so it’s not just the two of us alone.

Reporter: Michelle says she’s pregnant with your baby.  Did you guys have protection during intercourse?

Hugo Wong: Yes, we took all the precautionary measures.  I wore a condom. We actually haven’t seen each other for year and a half.

Reporter: Will you report it to the police?

Hugo Wong: I did seek out legal advice.  This is more of a civil matter.  After all, we were friends  I once gave her hope.  We’ve tried it, but it didn’t work out.  I can’t do anything about it.

Reporter: Are you afraid she’ll do something crazy, like commit suicide?

Hugo Wong:  I can’t control how she thinks.  I just hope these rumors don’t continue spreading.  I actually have ways of proving myself.

Reporter: You’re even willing to get a paternity test?

Hugo Wong:  Yes.  I am willing to do it anytime.

Jeannie Chan (陳瀅) and Carlos Chan (陳家樂), who were seen having dinner a few days ago, were asked about their dating rumors today.  Even though the two were not at the same event, the two had corroborated their story well when reporters were grilling them about that night’s event.  Jeannie Chan said, “Actually we just got off work and decided to have dinner together.”  When asked why she drove Carlos Chan back to her place, she explained, “This I have to explain clearly.  Carlos didn’t drive that day, but we were both going to Hong Kong island.  The parking lot beneath my home is a subway station, that’s why I drove him.  After that, we separated.  It’s a good thing the news report said I was with my friends later on.”

On whether Carlos Chan is pursuing her, Jeannie Chan exclaims they aren’t.  When asked about Carlos Chan feeding her that night, Jeannie Chan said, “This is just the effect of the writing and camera skills.  It’s really for entertainment purposes.”  On whether the two are developing their relationship further, she said, “Because we’re both filming together and both are single, it’s easy to have rumors spread about us.  It’s happened to me a few times already.”
When asked if Carlos Chan is her cup of tea, Jeannie Chan says, “He’s a very hard worker.  Crew members says we look like brothers and sisters.  I really need to clarify because we’re just working together.”  Jeannie Chan also says she won’t avoid eating with her co-stars as it’s normal and won’t be cautious of it in the future.  She also says she ate with Matthew Ho (何廣沛) before just that it wasn’t filmed.
Carlos Chan’s Side of the Story
Carlos Chan was at the blessing ceremony for his new film with co-star and rumored girlfriend, Kathy Yuen (湯怡).  Reporters asked Kathy Yuen if she feels a sigh of relief now that Carlos Chan has new dating rumors.  She responded, “Can’t really say that, but I think it’s funny.”  When asked about the dating rumors with Jeannie Chan, Carlos Chan laughed and said, “I will have no more friends.  We were just eating dinner.  I was not feeding her, it was an angle issue.  She was only driving me to the subway station near her home.  We are not dating.  We’re like brothers.”
As for whether or not they have a chance to develop further, Carlos Chan says he’s not thinking about it now as he’s busy with work.

Chinese actress, Bai Baihe’s (白百何) ex-husband, Chen Yufan (陳羽凡), who is famous in his own right as one half of the music duo, Yu Quan (羽泉), has been arrested for drug use and possession of drugs.  The singer is currently being detained by authorities in Beijing.  Bai Baihe has been silent, while his partner, Hu Haiquan (胡海泉), vented on Weibo with ten “why” questions, alluding to why Chen Yufan would do such a foolish thing.

On November 27th, the Beijing police authority posted on Weibo that they arrested a male singer, surname Chen, 43 years of age, and a female, surname He, age 25 with no occupation, for drug charges on the 26th.  At the scene, they found 7.96 grams of methamphetamine and 2.14 grams of marijuana.  The authorities also said, “Through urine testing, Mr. Chen tested positive for methamphetamine and marijuana, while Ms. He tested positive for marijuana.  At present, Mr. Chen is being detained for drug use and possession of drugs, while Ms. He is being detained for drug use.  This case is currently being investigated.”
When the news report came out, it was a netizen who exposed the drug bust was on Chen Yufan.  To add to the credibility of the news, Yu Quan was supposed to hold a concert on Christmas, but it has been cancelled due to “the artist’s personal reasons.”  Chen Yufan’s company, Ju Jiang Entertainment (巨匠娛樂), immediately issued a legal notice on Weibo for netizens to stop spreading false allegations.  However, the post was deleted shortly afterwards.  Ju Jiang then posted an apology letter on Weibo admitting Chen Yufan was arrested for drug charges.  Their statement says:
“We feel immense regret and sadness at Mr. Chen Yufan’s personal actions.  We also regret the impact of his actions on the public.  Our colleagues, at the moment, are also feeling regret and sorrow.  We will wholeheartedly respect the outcome and the handling of the case by the relevant departments.  We will also fully cooperate with the relevant teams on handling the aftermath of the incident.”
Someone connected with Ju Jiang and the relevant parties revealed that the company wasn’t notified yet when the news came out.  As a result, they mistakenly treated the online circulation of Chen Yufan as rumors, which is why they had to delete the legal notice and issue an apology.

TVB artist, Bowie Cheung (張寶兒), attended a jewelry event today.  When asked if she was picking out her dowry, she laughed and said she doesn’t need to buy it herself.  Her boyfriend, Benjamin Yuen (袁偉豪), recently won both the Singapore and Malaysian versions of TVB’s “Best Actor Award”.  When asked if she’s ready to get married if Benjamin Yuen claims the third “Best Actor” award at the TVB Anniversary Awards show next month, Bowie Cheung says, “I think it’s hard to plan this, but right now is not an opportune time.  We’re both so focused on our careers.”

Bowie Cheung goes on further to say it’s hard to talk about the future, but as of this moment, she is working hard on her career.  When reporters brought up that Benjamin Yuen said he was ready, but is actually giving her time to develop her career, Bowie Cheung says, “He’s putting me on the spot.  His career is running so smoothly right now, he needs more time to do even better.  I’m throwing the ball back into his court.”

When asked if she has voted for Benjamin Yuen yet, she says, she hasn’t, but believes he has the ability to claim the title for the third time.  She also adds, “If he wins, I will need to think of a surprise for him.”  The reporters asked what she will do if he proposes on stage, Bowie Cheung says, “I think proposals are better done in private.  It’s best the moment is just captured between the two people.”

It has been reported 38 year old Hong Kong actress, Cecilia Cheung (張栢芝), has given birth to her third child, a son, on November 25th.  The mom of two had actually posted a video with a little girl on her Instagram in February of this year with the caption: “She’s too cute.  Before 2018 ends, I must have a baby.  This is my goal!”  Unfortunately her account is now private and no longer has any posts.

Cecilia Cheung was married to celebrity Nicholas Tse (謝霆鋒) until their divorce in 2011.  She has been taking care of their two children, Lucas and Quintus, primarily in Singapore.  Back in March, Cecilia Cheung’s mother had revealed her daughter was being pursued by a wealthy 65 year old Singaporean businessman.   It is said he is a shareholder of a Singaporean fast food chain corporation and also has a publicly traded company in Singapore.  He is said to be the father of Cecilia Cheung’s third child.

Reporters have been waiting outside the hospital for days, but haven’t seen Cecilia Cheung or her family yet.  Her manager, Emily, appeared at the hospital, but when asked about the news, she said, “No comment.”  Cecilia Cheung’s mother appeared at the hospital today and when the reporters asked if she was visiting her daughter, she said, “No, I am just seeing the doctor.”  As for Cecilia Cheung’s ex-father-in-law and veteran actor, Patrick Tse (謝賢), he said, “I don’t know.  I haven’t seen her in so long.  I’m not going to talk about it.  Help me congratulate her.”
Ex-husband, Nicholas Tse, was first approached by Apple Daily at an event today.  When asked about the pregnancy news, he smiled and said, “I won’t comment.  Thank you.”  Later on he was approached by Oriental Daily News when he was returning home.  When asked about Cecilia Cheung giving birth, he responded, “I don’t know.”  On whether he has seen her recently, Nicholas Tse shook his head and quickly went upstairs to his abode.

Chinese actresses Tang Yan (唐嫣) and Yang Mi (楊冪) were at the same fashion event for VogueFilm in Beijing yesterday.  This is news because Tang Yan got married in Vienna almost two weeks ago and everyone was expecting Yang Mi to be her bridesmaid since Tang Yan was hers at her wedding with Hawick Lau (劉愷威).  However, Yang Mi didn’t attend, fueling their discord rumors even more. The lifetime event we’ve all been waiting for has happened.  In a short clip shared online, Tang Yan and Yang Mi had no interactions whatsoever, seeming to avoid any contact with each other.  Aside from a group picture, where the two were standing apart, the two didn’t talk either.  Angelababy and her husband, Huang Xiaoming (黃曉明), were also at the event.  Luckily, Angelababy was standing near the two backstage, making it less awkward for each other.  Yang Mi was chatting it up with Angelababy, while Tang Yan was slowly walking away from the other two.

How did their rift start?
It all started three years ago when the two were vying for a role in the international movie “Bounty Hunters” with Korean actor, Lee Min Ho.  In the end, Tang Yan won the role.  Later on, the two were fighting for another role in the movie “Chronicles of the Ghostly Tribe.”  The director ultimately selected Tang Yan for the role.

Starting from last year, it was rumored that Yang Mi’s favorability with the public was decreasing.  It was rumored both actresses’ teams were fighting  for them to climb to the first spot of the Hot Topic List on Weibo.  It was said Yang Mi’s work studio was upset at some anti-fans badmouthing their boss.  Yang Mi’s fans were sure it was Tang Yan who was bothering their idol.

Later on, a staff member from Tang Yan’s work studio reposted an essay on Weibo that was criticizing Yang Mi’s acting.  This staff member claims his/her account was hacked, but no one really believed it.  From then on, it was said Tang Yan and Yang Mi’s relationship started to crumble and no longer contacted each other.

Looks like Kelvin Kwan (關楚耀) wasn’t that electrified by Kelly Cheung (張曦雯) as it has been reported the actor is dating a flight attendant and internet celebrity named Joann Law.  It is said the two have been dating for about a year, but the two have been very private about their relationship.  There hasn’t been any pictures of them together on social media.  However, their relationship was exposed due to Kelvin Kwan’s love of photography.  Joann Law had uploaded a picture of her holding his camera, which is the same one found in his pictures as identified by the camera strap.  It turns out the two were vacationing in Japan.

Oriental Daily reached out to Kelvin Kwan to confirm the news.  He said he feels he has matured and wants to handle his love life privately.  Because Joann Law is not in the business, he doesn’t want to impact her lifestyle.  When asked if the two were dating, Kelvin Kwan says, “We are in the stages of getting to know each other.”

Joann Law’s Instagram account is now private, but Oriental Daily was quick enough to grab some of her old photos.  It seems she had some work done comparing her old photos from her modeling days to now.

Jet Li (Lee Nin Kit) earlier appeared on a Mainland talk show and revealed the fear of facing death for the first time while shooting the film FEARLESS in 2005.

Lee Nin Kit revealed that at the time he almost died on a mountain. At the time he fell from a platform 12 feet above to the grass. He had no bone injury and at the time he felt fine. On the snowy mountain he was fine for the first day or two, but by the fourth day he realized that he lost control of bodily functions and his breathing became weaker. The crew rushed to bring a big oxygen box, but once it arrived they could not open it. The team rushed down the mountain and took three hours. In the latter part he was carried down. He still could remember the feeling now very clearly. At the time he even thought, "Now if you offer me an oxygen pillow for HK$ 1 million, I would buy it right away! Yet at this moment, what is money? Even if I have 1 million I wouldn't be able to get it."

Veteran artist Elliot Ngok Wah two days ago passed away at age 76. Ngok Wah spent half a century in film and television. He was the Vancouver Film and Television Artists' Society founding president. The organization yesterday issued an eulogy, revealing that Ngok Wah's wife and daughter were by his side when he passed. They held his hands and kept praying as Ngok Wah finally passed away with a smile. The Society even commended Ngok Wah on his HK$ 6 million charity donation.

The Society said that since 1993 Ngok Wah formed the organization with a group of artists who immigrated from Hong Kong and Taiwan there. At its peak it had over 200 members. The Society praised Ngok Wah for over 20 years of assisting the Society to raise over CA $ 1 million for the community, China and other nations without sparing any effort. He had everyone's deep admiration. In the end the Society said, "Brother Wah's love and kindness will forever in the hearts of everyone!"

Ngok Wah after completing the TVB series CAPTAIN OF DESTINY (CHEUNG BO JAI) has not made another series. In April last year, Helen Ma said that she has lost contact with Ngok Wah for over a month and worried about his health. TVB executive Tsang Lai Chun clarified on his behalf that Ngok Wah was resting at home. If he was in Hong Kong and did not have to work he would return to Canada. No one should speculate too much and they occasionally had contact.

Ngok Wah was rumored to have diabetes. He was afraid of the side effects of the medication so he chose natural therapy. However, Ngok Wah last year was still active in Canada as he appeared at a Film and Television Artists' Society event. At the time Ngok Wah had a cap and a cane. Although he was much thinner and more tan, he looked decent. At the end of last year, when Ngok Wah attended a Christmas party he performed a song and still full of energy. Ngok Wah's final public appearance was in August last year when he performed in a play for four shows. Although he was not as spirited as he used to be, he still gave his all to the performance. His professionalism was admirable.

Tian Niu yesterday was working on the Lunar New Year film TREAUSRE (YU JU YU BO) at Central. With her brother in law Ngok Wa's passing, Tian Niu looked solemn and declined any interview. Afterward director Andrew Lam Man Chung praised Tian Niu for still giving her all to the role very professionally.

After over 50 years in show business, Ngok Wah in the business was a greatly respected elder. Many artists like Law Kar Ying, Ruco Chan Chin Pang, Kara Wai Ying Hung, Helen Ma, Mandy Lam Suk Man eulogized him on social media. Law Kar Ying posted, "Big Brother Ngok Wah passed away. I heard that his health has not been great in the past few years as he declined to see others. The great hero of a generation left his past glory on the screen. He was a top student in Shaw's South Nation second training class, a classmate of Cheng Pei Pei. I was in the fifth class and respectfully called him a school elder. He was very hard working and willing to learn, kind, a very nice guy, his acting ability was truly high. He was able to play heroes and villains, dramatic and action roles. He was my role model. He originally was a diver. He started in film after arriving in Hong Kong, so he picked up martial arts very quickly and very well. When he immigrated to Canada he also became a Chinese community group president and toiled for Hong Kong immigrants. He made great contributions. School elder, have a safe journey."

Ngok Wah's co-star on series ALL THAT IS BITTER IS SWEET and CAPTAIN OF DESTINY Chan Chin Pang sorrowfully stated, "I just read the news and it is still very hard to accept. I didn't want it to be true. I have worked with him on several projects, and truly have learned too much from him. His professionalism, his demeanor, and this elder's care and attentiveness to everyone would make him my forever and ever role model, and have given me the presence of a superstar of a generation. His glory would always remain in my heart. I am thankful to fate for giving me the chance to work with you. Thank you for your contribution to Hong Kong. Brother Ngok Wa I will always remember you!"

Helen Ma posted a photo with her, Ngok Wah and Lee Lam Lam. "Brother Wah we will always remember you! I am very sad and miss you very much!"

Wai Ying Hung and Ngok Wah worked together on TVB series ROSY BUSINESS. She posted, "Big Brother Ngok Wah have a safety journey". Former Olympic gymnast Liu Xuan also worked with Ngok Wah and said, "In 2011 I worked on TVB's female driven kung fu series GRACE UNDER FIRE and had many great elders who gave me a lot of help. Mr. Ngok Wah was one of them. Elder Ngok Wah, have a safe journey."

Nancy Sit Ka Yin yesterday said at an event regretted not having a chance to work with Ngok Wah. "I am very saddened to hear the news of his passing. I very much regret not having a chance to work with him, but we would run into each other at the company and chat. We would also attend events together. He performed very well in the current late night re-run of THE GEM OF LIFE, now we have lost yet another outstanding artist. (When you met what did you talking about?) Casual stuff, he was very humorous, he would tell jokes but he was also very mild mannered. He was quite a gentleman. His acting was great."

Sister Ka Yin last saw Ngok Wah at the company two years ago. Later she found out that he returned to Canada to rest. She heard from friends that his health was not great and was much thinner. Later she no longer learn any news about him. She continued, "My condolences to his family and Sister Tian Ni, Brother Ngok Wa have a safe journey!"

With over 50 years in show business and over 100 films, Ngok Wah have played leading and supporting roles, from young actor to grandfather, from rich to poor, from hero, mobster, emperor, general, loyal and evil officials. Ngok Wah in an interview even humorously said, "Playing a villain is the most fun, I get to do all the bad things that I don't do in the film."

Ngok Wah was originally named Leung Lok Wah. In 1966 he signed with Shaw and made a name for himself as Sun Wukong in THE MONKEY KING GOES WEST. In 1966 he rose to fame with Chen Hung-Lieh and Cheng Pei Pei in COME DRINK WITH ME. In the 60's and the 70's, Ngok Wah was mostly in film. In the 80s Ngok Wah began appearing in television series. His first series was GONE WITH THE WIND (FAU SUN LOK GIP), later he performed in many classic series like FATHERLAND (DAI DEI YUN CHING), THE TWINS (JUET DOI SEUNG GIU), and LOOKING BACK IN ANGER (YI BUK YUNG CHING).

In the 90s Ngok Wah immigrated to Vancouver. In 2007 he returned to TVB and thus often commuted between Canada and Hong Kong. In recent years he starred in THE GEM OF LIFE (JU GUONG BO HEI), ROSY BUSINESS (GUNG GOK HIU HUNG), OVERACHIEVERS (MING MOON UM JIN), and STORM IN A COCOON (SAU YIP JEH). Recently TVB aired THE GEM OF LIFE late night. His character's romance with Ada Choi Siu Fun left deep memory for the audience.

Ngok Wah and Tian Ni wed in 1975 and were the "silver screen model couple". Several years ago they spoke with Che Suk Mui. He was introverted, she was direct. Ngok Wah even revealed that Tian Ni proposed to him. After giving birth to their daughter, they had to find a suitable place for the child to live. The family of three had two votes for Vancouver, since majority rules Ngok Wah followed the group and gave up his television career. He admitted, "I of course missed it, but I love my family even more. I remember it was June 89, the temperature has already turned cold. The new home was being renovated, we stayed at a friend's new home but we minded staying at the master bedroom. We stayed in the basement but didn't know how to turn on the heater. My daughter kept coughing and I felt really bad. At this moment, the radio played the television series LOOKING BACK IN ANGER's theme song......never expected what I lost, actually was already my everything. I cried!"

Ngok Wah said that his wife Tian Ni managed their finances all along. They did not randomly invest and do business. They lived steadily and happily for decades. They did not have too drastic rise or fall. Money was not too important to their daughter either.

A former Miss Hong Kong is being sued for her beauty pageant crown as part payment for HK$3.76 million (US$479,000) in unpaid debt owed by her and her husband, a court writ shows.

Winnie Young Yuen-yee, the 1995 winner, and her partner, Wong Shuai-fun, pledged Young’s crown as collateral along with a property in the United States to secure a loan three years ago for their Samoa-registered business Little Einstein Academy. The couple borrowed HK$2.4 million from Trinity Aim Capital Limited for the venture, which was based out of CC Wu Building in Wan Chai. The money was granted between December 2014 and November 2015, but due to their failure to repay in full, the debt has since snowballed to HK$3.76 million including interest, according to a writ filed last Friday by the creditor.

Trinity Aim Capital has lodged a civil suit asking a court to compel the couple to hand over the beauty crown and house in San Francisco, California. “Wrongfully ... the defendants have failed to deliver the pledged properties to the plaintiff, even after the ... default occurred,” the writ said. It is not the first time the former beauty champion has faced legal action. In March Young became the target of a lawsuit filed by a kindergarten of which she was a director. Steam International Kindergarten accused her of transferring fees amounting to HK$147,000 into Marker Spaces Limited, another company she owned. Her husband had earlier filed a winding-up order to close a kindergarten called Golden Gate, for which he was a creditor. Young had opened the business but later shut its doors. Wong’s order was an attempt to recoup part of the couple’s investment in the project, but the High Court in February refused the application.

In the present case, lawyers for Trinity Aim Capital said the couple’s company had first asked for a loan of HK$2 million in December 2014. They then repeatedly postponed the dates of repayment and failed to keep up with the instalments, the creditor said. A further HK$400,000 was requested and granted in November 2015, the lender said, but since then the failures to repay had continued, prompting the court action.

Mandy Cho, Miss Hong Kong in 2003, once told local media her crown was worth about HK$1.4 million. Lukfook Jewellery, which has been sponsoring the crowns for the beauty pageant, said in 2011 the price had risen to HK$3.5 million. The 2016 crown was reportedly worth HK$4.6 million. It is often decorated with diamonds and gold.

She was in Singapore last week and her husband, Real Ting (丁子高) took their son to Thailand for holidays due to an activity in Hong Kong. Hence, Miriam was in lion city alone this week and will be joining her family in Thailand thereafter.

Since Miriam mentioned about filming new series, Wonder Woman (多功能老婆) next month and checking if she stole the female lead role from Sheren Tang (鄧萃雯), she said: “Huh? I have no idea and the reliability of this new is extremely low. Everyone in Hong Kong knows my top priority is my family and I prefer to spend time with my son if not for the invitation. Honestly, Real knows the screenwriter, Ella Chan Bo Wah (陳寶華) well and my mother is close to Sheren’s mother too. Anyway, Sheren and my family are good friends and have dinner together at times.

From my understanding, I guess there is another series based on educational values for her and it will be embarrassing to see each other if we are strangers. Perhaps everybody is unaware of this but the truth is always hidden.” She looked forward to this series as it was different from her usual past role characters.

When asked if she was considered as a super wife, Miriam said: “The girls have no problem with multitasking now and we have many things to take care of despite being a single or married woman. A survey in Hong Kong shows that there is more women than men and we need to analyse the society problem. (How is the preparation for the series?) I have met up with Ella and want to increase my understanding of the role character. I am reading the script now and the filming will take place in a relaxing atmosphere.”

Wondering if Miriam missed her husband or son more when away for business trips, she said after thinking for a moment: “Will think of the appropriate person at the right timing.
(Miss your son during the shooting?) He is studying year 2 now and has many school activities. I have arranged the schedule for him and we will accompany him after our work. He also understands that I have my work to do.”
