Miriam Yeung (楊千嬅) attended an Italian brand, Tod’s event at night in Singapore on 11th April 2018 and the flagship store was opened after the renovation. She was in Singapore last week and her husband, Real Ting (丁子高) took their son to Thailand for holidays due to an activity in Hong Kong. Hence, Miriam was in lion city alone this week and will be joining her family in Thailand thereafter.

Since Miriam mentioned about filming new series, Wonder Woman (多功能老婆) next month and checking if she stole the female lead role from Sheren Tang (鄧萃雯), she said: “Huh? I have no idea and the reliability of this new is extremely low. Everyone in Hong Kong knows my top priority is my family and I prefer to spend time with my son if not for the invitation. Honestly, Real knows the screenwriter, Ella Chan Bo Wah (陳寶華) well and my mother is close to Sheren’s mother too. Anyway, Sheren and my family are good friends and have dinner together at times.

From my understanding, I guess there is another series based on educational values for her and it will be embarrassing to see each other if we are strangers. Perhaps everybody is unaware of this but the truth is always hidden.” She looked forward to this series as it was different from her usual past role characters.

When asked if she was considered as a super wife, Miriam said: “The girls have no problem with multitasking now and we have many things to take care of despite being a single or married woman. A survey in Hong Kong shows that there is more women than men and we need to analyse the society problem. (How is the preparation for the series?) I have met up with Ella and want to increase my understanding of the role character. I am reading the script now and the filming will take place in a relaxing atmosphere.”

Wondering if Miriam missed her husband or son more when away for business trips, she said after thinking for a moment: “Will think of the appropriate person at the right timing.
(Miss your son during the shooting?) He is studying year 2 now and has many school activities. I have arranged the schedule for him and we will accompany him after our work. He also understands that I have my work to do.”

Jerry Yan (言承旭) and Lin Chi Ling (林志玲) were exposed for reconciliation in 2017 and rumoured to get married in Bali in end March 2018. However, Chi Ling used 4 words to respond the gossips during an activity in Dubai around a few days ago: “Not expecting, not married, no Bali trip and no romance.”

Lastly, she announced she was currently single. Based on the information from Taiwan media, Chi Ling’s friend felt it was unfair to her and explained the reason for drawing a separate line with Jerry. Raymond joins TVB in 1999 and 2019 will mark 20 his anniversary years. Despite the minor roles, but his acting skills is definitely recognised and Raymond acts in several sitcoms such as Off Pedder (畢打自己人) and Best Selling Secrets (同事三分親). Based on the information, his contract will TVB ended on end March 2018 and Raymond decided to join Stephen Shiu Jr.’s (蕭定一) company. Jazz Lam (林子善) resumed his work immediately after holding his wedding banquet a few days ago. Mentioning about one of his brothers’ group member, Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎) got drunk and argued with the director and left with a black face at his wedding banquet during the promotion campaign for TVB (無綫) new series, Stealing Seconds (棟仁的時光) on 6th April 2018, Jazz denied it and was aware that Kevin left the venue happily. He said: “The reporter calls me about it in the next morning and I check with my brothers’ group and they say no. Perhaps they talk too loud only. I know Bob Lam (林盛斌) and Kevin are drinking happily and they may talk too loud at times. Anyway, no argument at all.”

Checking if Kenneth Ma (馬國明) helped Jazz to drink as he praised himself as a good drinker, Jazz said: “I do not feel it. Everyone knows when I propose toast on the stage and they should know they have to helpme to drink when I go around to propose toast. He does not need to do it anyway and what should I do? He is my guest and is drinking tea over there. Kenneth is not a drinker and non smoker. He is a joker and replies that he smokes 3 packs of cigarettes when others ask him. I guess he does not really have the intention to drink on my behalf.”

Ron laughingly said, "Tell Michael to charge less! He is too expensive...almost the entire series' budget. Regarding Bosco doing well in Mainland, he laughingly said, "Still cannot compare to Michael! We just came to accommodate him! (Very different from Mainland filming?) There are differences in terms of lifestyle, filming, and culture. There are also pros to filming in Mainland. Because [you] are filming in other places for a long period of time, would concentrate more when filming because [you] have no more friends...just go back to the room to look at the script after completing filming".

Hong Kong singer Edmond Leung Hon-man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after he crashed his Mercedes-Benz into a roadside railing in Hong Kong in the early hours on Tuesday January 23. Leung has been banned from driving for two years, ordered to do 160 hours of community service, and fined HK$1,500 (US$190) after smashing his Mercedes-Benz in a drink-driving crash.

Edmond Leung Hon-man, 46, was nearly five times over the legal limit when he into a private residence in Mid-Levels, at 1.50am on January 23. The Canto-pop singer escaped injury, but his black Mercedes was seriously damaged. A subsequent breathalyser test conducted at the scene found Leung had 104 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, against the legal limit of 22mcg/100ml. A second test at a police station less than an hour later put the measurement at 80mcg/100ml.
Under caution, Leung admitted to police that he had consumed red wine and whisky before driving the vehicle, which he subsequently crashed after driving up Garden Road, turning right on to Robinson Road, and then ramming a six-metre-long railing and the boundary wall of Garden Terrace. Leung pleaded guilty last month to one count of careless driving and another of driving a motor vehicle with alcohol concentration in breath above the prescribed limit.

Prosecutors said Leung “failed to pay due care and attention to exercise proper control of his vehicle”. In mitigation, the singer’s defence lawyer said the accident took place when Leung dropped his phone while driving, after having a drink with his wife. Leung recalled that he had needed to drive home because he planned to pick up his father the next morning. The lawyer argued that his client had a good driving record, with only a fixed penalty fine in the past. It was also revealed that although Leung had since apologised to the public in newspapers, that had not stopped him from losing advertising jobs.

Magistrate Veronica Heung Shuk-han had adjourned sentencing pending reports on the suitability of unpaid community service. She adopted a recommendation for 160 hours after receiving a positive reports. Leung was further fined HK$1,500 and banned from driving for two years. The star did not comment outside court after the sentencing. Careless driving is punishable by up to a HK$5,000 fine and six months’ imprisonment, while drink driving carries a maximum fine of HK$25,000 and three years’ imprisonment.

40 year old Jason Chan (陳智燊) and 32 year old Sarah Song (宋熙年) have been a loving couple since married in 2016 and expressed that they had been trying hard for a baby after marriage. On 3rd April 2018, Jason announced Sarah was expecting and shared photo of himself touching her stomach and there was a baby pram beside them.

During the live broadcast of TVB Awards Anniversary (萬千星輝頒獎典禮) in early 2018, TVB veteran Liza Wang (汪明荃) mentioned that there was politics and different groups were formed in the company. In the past years, TVB Executives, Virginia Lok (樂易玲) and Catherina Tsang (曾勵珍) have been fighting against each other and artiste become their sacrifices as a result.

A couple of days ago, TVB (無綫) participated in Entertainment Expo Hong Kong (香港國際影視展) and organised a major press conference to introduce their upcoming drama and variety shows. Nearly all staff including the management and artiste were present. At the point, East Week (東周網) discovered the intense tension between Virginia and Catherina had escalated to an openly declared war and both showed black faces to each other on the back stage. It was suspected there was a clash in conflicts and the scene was more interesting in comparison to palace rivalry drama.

In TVB, it was not the first public appearance between TVB Executives, Virginia and Catherina and they had been using smiles to conceal their disputes for the past years. However during the press conference, East Week seemed to discover Virginia opened fire at Catherina to her superior, (杜之克) first and it made Catherina’s face covered in smoke. Sensing the tension, the superior tried to act as mediator and Virginia left the scene thereafter.

Subsequently, a group of management team led the artiste to propose toast on the stage and Virginia and Catherina treated each other invisible. Both had zero interactions and proposed toast in different directions. Apparently during TVB Awards Anniversary, Liza hoped there will be less rivalry during her thank you speech for Lifetime Achievement and it looks like the rivalry between the senior management has accumulated long time ago.

Owen Cheung (張振朗) and Apple Chan (陳芷尤) have been dating for more than 3 years and going for holidays secretly to France and Netherlands together. In last August, Owen was rumoured to meet Apple’s parent in Singapore and the public believed their relationship was very stable. However on 2nd April 2018, both announced their separation news simultaneously online with the photos of their back views and looking at the beach separately with an empty seat beside them. The photo was suspected to be taken during their vacation and it was shocking to see they used it to announce their break up. He said: “Thank you for the beautiful memories for the few years and all incidents seem to happen yesterday. There is no third party at all. Although there is a change in our relationship, but we will continue to give our blessings to each other at a faraway place. Thank you for the concern for the past few years.” Good friend, Samantha Ko (高海寧) left a message with a sad symbol to express it was a pity.

Due to the sudden separation news, Apple replied to the media through text on 2nd April 2018: “We have separated for a while and decided to announce it at the right timing. We are busy with our work and have different perspectives. We are happy to remain as friends and please give us privacy. (Change to underground relationship?) We are focusing on our careers. Thanks.”

Owen also responded to the media: “We are friends now and want to continue to work hard for our careers. We are happy with the current state and please give us some peace.”

Owen and Apple graduated from the same acting skill class and started to fall in love after filming Come Home Love (愛‧回家) sitcom together day and night. They then cohabited and handled their romance in low key in order to focus on their careers. In February 2018, Owen and Apple wore couple outfits in blue and black colours at Sha Tin racecourse.

37 year old Lynn Hung (熊黛林) is currently expecting for 8 months and has stopped her work to rest at home. Michael said during an interview: “I learn how to cycle at the age of 2 plus and every child has his/her own bicycle in overseas. As my house is not in the same district as my school, it takes about 2 hours to cycle per day.” He loved to cycle around as his school had nice views and cycling became part of his life: “I get to enjoy the breeze, analyse things and treat it as a training since the cycling journey is not a smooth path. (Continuing your cycling routine until now?) I seldom cycle since working in China and Hong Kong. It is unsafe when cycling to home or school as Hong Kong is considered a small place.”

Reminding that Apple Daily (蘋果) took photos of his manager and himself at Causeway Bay a few days ago, Michael felt it was amusing: “The media is indeed very concerned about my life and thank you very much. She is my former manager and we know each other for more than 10 years and are not dating. (Dare not go out with girls now?) Some girls really dare not go out with me and it resembles to eating vegetarian now. Eliza Sam (岑麗香), Tracy Chu (朱千雪) and Jennifer Shum (岑杏賢) attended TVB (無綫) event on 31st March 2018 and interacted with the children well. Among 3 of them, Eliza was the favourite to the children and said: “Perhaps they treat me like a soft toy and I feel happy that they are willing to play together. I used to work with children frequently and have no stress at all as they are direct and innocent.”

When asked about her baby plan since she loved children very much, Eliza said: “I treat it as practice when playing with my friends’ kids. Having baby is better to leave it to destiny and not to give too much pressure. I am still a big child and need to learn how to take care of children. Everyone keeps telling me to have baby quickly including shopping with my elder sister. Please stop giving me pressure.”

Eliza also pointed her good friend, Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) and others did give their opinions: “I discover people with no kids will ask me about my baby plan but people with kids urge me not to have baby first as there is a complete change in life. But Linda shares with me the joys of having baby.”

Jacqueline Wong (黃心穎) films Big Coalition of Maids (丫鬟大聯盟) drama with her hoarse voice and explains she has not recovered from her flu and the whole team including backend take turn to fall sick due to cross infection. Roxanne Tong (湯洛雯) is also one of the “victims” and Jacqueline finally applies half day leave after puking on that day. It is embarrassing when the team in next studio asks if Jacqueline is expecting and turns out to be her boyfriend, Kenneth Ma (馬國明) is filming Big White Duel (白色強人) drama with that team in next studio. Kenneth acts as a doctor and asking if he specially takes care of her, Jacqueline says: “Once, my eyes become blood shot during the filming on that night and I decide to go to the emergency department in case of infection. Hence, the doctor (Kenneth) accompanies me.”

Earlier, Roxanne was out of love and praised Kenneth was a gentleman who brought food for Jacqueline frequently and included her share as well. Asking if she felt lonely as a single woman, Roxanne said: “Nope. I enjoy my current life and not really interested to date at the moment.” Jacqueline encouraged Roxanne not to lose hope in love and could try to know the “doctors” in the next studio.

54 year old Kenny Wong (黃德斌) joined show business industry for 31 years and decided to leave TVB (無綫) in 2017 in order to venture outside. He accepts an interview from the show, (是敢的) by Fantastic TV (奇妙電視) and discusses about his working experience as an artiste. Kenny admits to earning additional income from a model to an actor and filming action drama is his main focus. He feels he resembles to an action actor but his good life lasts shortly as TVB refuses to renew contract with him in 1993. It is a big blow to him and he decides to work backend operations instead. Kenny says: “I am working very hard and they do not want me but I am interested in backend operations though. I ignore my pride and focus on earning a living.” He confesses he suffers lots of hardships at backend operations but the ups and downs experiences make him turn out to be what he is today.

Due to his previous role characters, Kenny has been feeling down for a long period of time and suspecting to suffer from depression: “At that time, I do not feel I am sick neither see a doctor but it is a miracle though. On one day, I look at myself in the mirror upon waking up and cannot blame on myself for my looks. Hence, I decide to cheer myself up and be happy everyday.” He believes everyone should have positive mindsets and learn to be grateful. Kenny then decides to leave TVB in 2017 and starts the second round in his life: “I follow my heart and leaving TVB is to try more stuff. Perhaps I am sick of it and dissatisfied with my current life.” Mentioning about his regret for many years, Kenny reveals it is his deceased mother: “My mother loves to watch television and supports my occupation but my career remains at low peak when she leaves.” Kenny confesses his determination comes from his mother and her encouragements remain deep in his heart until now.

Karena Ng (吳千語), Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼), Jennifer Yu (余香凝) and Fish Liew (廖子妤) were present at a fashion event at Causeway Bay on 26th March 2018. It was Karena’s first time to meet the media after her separation with Raymond Lam (林峯) and she looked calm overall. She felt fine and admitted their separation happened some time ago. Karena had been working continuously last year and thanked everyone for the concern. She will be taking a break lately and filming drama, variety show and web series later.

Satisfied as a single woman

Karena had established consensus with Raymond whom announced the separation news but she rejected to reveal additional details as feared of saying wrong things. When asked if it involved a third party, Karena replied it was their personal affair and hoped to look forward and focus on her career now. She did not know Raymond’s new love, Carina Zhang (張馨月) and declined to reply about others’ affair. Reminding about her new rich boyfriend, Karena emphasised she had little suitors, kept a distance from her male friends outside and loved her current life as a single woman.

Checking if they seldom spent time together led to their break up, Karena said: “It is already over. (Is it related to his family?) Nope. It is our personal affair.” Karena’s family was not worried about her and she will go for vacation with her friends during her free time. When the reporters mentioned about the announcement made by Raymond on that day, Karena went to watch her idol, Jay Chou (周杰倫)’s concert and they were pointed to use the song to convey the message. Hence, Karena clarified she did not choose the song and all Jay’s songs were love songs. Lastly, she hesitated before answering yes when asked if she remained as friends with Raymond.

Raymond Lam (林峯) and Kelly Chen (陳慧琳) attended a brand event at night on 28 March 2018. He had been busy filming new movies and web movies lately. Although Raymond felt exhausted, but he remained in a good condition and avoided to talk about his relationship. He emphasised to place his career as his top priority several times and it appeared that he planned to handle his new romance in low key. Raymond said: “I am a workaholic and focus on my career all along. I will not use work to heal my relationship wound.”

Mentioning about his old love, Karena Ng (吳千語) hinted that they were no longer friends after the separation, Raymond rejected to reply as he explained it many times previously. When asked if they had a chance to work together in the future, Raymond said: “I am a professional artiste and will not resist it. I hope to meet new work challenges and give surprises to everybody.”

Vincent Wong (王浩信) and his wife, Yoyo Chen (陳自瑤) are pointed to separated earlier and he is rumoured to neglect his family due to his workload. Hence, their marriage flashes red light. Previously, Vincent has rumours with Sisley Choi (蔡思貝) and Kong Ka Man (江嘉敏). On 29th March 2018, a magazine reported that Vincent was drinking with his brother, Tony Wong (王瑋彤) at a pub in Repulse Bay a few days ago and Vincent kept talking to Tony upon sitting down and ordered drinks after a while. Both drank around 4 to 5 cans of beer and Vincent collected his vehicle nearby after 30 minutes later.

On that day, Elaine Yiu shared photo of herself filming new drama, Justice Bao: The First Year (包青天再起風雲) in Hengdian World Studio and in the photo, Yoyo was looking at peach blossom happily. Today on Weibo, Yoyo uploaded photo of herself in canola flower land and remarked it was a date with canola flower land.

As Yoyo is busy filming series, Vincent is forced to look after his daughter and also shared photo of themselves earlier. Based on the report, Yoyo is still mad at the rumours related to Vincent cheating on her and they have yet to share any loving photos. Also, Yoyo’s expression starts to change upon seeing Ka Man during a previous event and it looks like Vincent has to put in additional efforts to pacify his wife.

Scriptwriter, Ella Chan Bo Wah (陳寶華) makes her comeback to TVB lately and invites Miriam Yeung (楊千嬅) as the female lead in the new drama, Wonder Woman (多功能老婆) despite her last TVB series is around 10 years ago. Earlier, they announced it together during a press conference and Miriam remarked it was a miracle and destiny: “My last TVB series was A Taste of Love (美味情緣) with Raymond Lam (林峯) in 2001. Sandy Yu (余詠珊) approached my husband, Real Ting (丁子高) when I was holding the concert in last December and Ella wished to invite me to film the drama as the role character has a strong resemblance to me.”

On 29th March 2018, a magazine reported that the role character belonged to Sheren Tang (鄧萃雯) initially and she expressed she had reserved her schedule and waited for the script from Ella. However during the press conference on that day, Sheren was shocked that the female lead was not her and returned empty-handed eventually. Based on the news report, Real opened a manager company in 2017 and kept persuading Miriam to join him. Hence, she approached TVB and hoped to maintain a good working relationship. Ella believed it was fresh to collaborate with Miriam and the ratings record was a guarantee so Sheren lost a good opportunity as a result.

Subsequently, Sheren expressed her desire to speak the dialogue in Cantonese all along during an interview with a magazine. She had been liaising with TVB and waiting for the script since she had arranged her schedule. In addition, Sheren explained others believed she might return to film TVB series during last TVB Anniversary Awards and she followed their thoughts.

Real accepted an interview from Apple Daily (蘋果) on 29th March 2018: “It is a ridiculous report and the whole incident happened in last December. Sandy contacted me that Ella will be releasing a new series and we had dinner together. Although it was the first meeting, but everyone was interested and elated and we continued our discussion. The terms and conditions proposed from TVB was sincere and excellent and we decided to give it a try. It has been a long time since Miriam films series and I believe it is a breakthrough for her this time. The series title is Wonder Woman in English which conveys the same message as Miriam’s concert.” He added that everybody commented the role character had a strong resemblance to Miriam after releasing the story: “I do know Sheren and feel sorry for her although it is unrelated to me. It is odd to see this ridiculous report all of a sudden.”

Elanne Kong (江若琳) revealed that her fiance, Oscar Siu (蕭潤邦) invested in noodles restaurant with 7 digits figure so as to carve another career for her during an activity on 30th March 2018. She said: “He believes my taste. Although I am considered new, but he leaves the renovations, kitchen utensils and ingredients to me.
