Joel Chan finally breaks the ice with Christine Ng; He describes it as reconciliation between the lovers
Christine Ng (伍詠薇) and Joel Chan (陳山聰) put the unhappiness behind together and share photo of themselves shaking hands together. Joel left a message at that time: "1 kiss forgets the hatred! No need to say everything and I love you!" On 19 June, Joel has dinner with Christine and Sharon Chan (陳敏之) at a restaurant and Sharon uploads their photo: "A reunion finally! #Very delicious# You are still food experts."
Christine Ng (伍詠薇) and her husband, Kasey Lin (練海棠) are married for 17 years and she helped him to explain the whole issue when Kasey met a lady with big breast secretly earlier. Christine was praised as gracious wife when handling the whole matter.
Six days ago on Weibo, Christine shared photos of herself having holidays with Kasey to Sanya and they resembled a loving couple. Looks like the scandal has come to an end now. In the photo, Christine looks young and maintains her body figure well.
Christine Ng's (伍詠薇) husband, Kasey Lin (練海棠) was pointed to have an affair with a lady with big breast earlier and Christine had to apologise to the media as a result. Lately, she shared many sweet photos of herself having holidays with Kasey in Sanya lately and it seemed that the 'cheating' case was closed.
Defended her husband: He did not do anything wrong
Today, Christine was filming food program in Tsim Sha Tsui in a happy mood and expressed immediately upon seeing the reporters: "I have nothing to say. Thank you! Thank you! (Forgive your husband?) He did not do anything wrong and how to forgive him? Thank you for your concern."
As tomorrow will be their 17 years wedding anniversary and asking if the holidays in Sanya was an advance celebration, Christine reacted surprisingly and asked how did the reporters know about their wedding anniversary. She then paused for a second and said: "Oh yes, I am the one who reveals it. (Try to make baby during the trip?) Hahaha! Thank you for your concern." Christine went up to the stairs to film program thereafter.
Hong Kong tabloids suggested that Christine Ng’s husband, Kasey Lin Hoi Tong was cheating on her after he was suspected having a tryst in his car.
Recently, Kasey was often seen with a 34D busty woman, and whenever they met, he would put on a mask to conceal his identity. Early this month, Kasey was also photographed driving the same woman. After he dropped her off, he also gave her a goodbye kiss.
Three days later, Kasey was again seen with the same woman on a movie and dinner date. After that, the duo went to a beach in Kasey’s 7-seater vehicle. The pair got down the front seats of the vehicle and went into the passenger’s seat. Kasey and the woman was said to be in the vehicle for two hours. After that, Kasey was seen to have removed his outer clothing, and even went down the car to get a drink.
Today, Christine was recording a variety programme and was grilled by the reporters on his husband’s alleged affair. The 47-year-old actress admitted that when she first saw the video, she was shocked, but remained calm in front of her husband. She even woke her husband to watch the news together. Christine said that as she had to work early in the morning, she only managed to talk to her husband for a while.
However, she admitted that she was quite upset when she first saw the clip. “I was indeed unhappy when I saw the news. On the other hand, I reminded myself that I could not blame him. Did I neglect the family or is it because I am too busy recently?”
Christine said that she would understand the situation from her husband when she returned home. When asked if she would get a divorce if her husband was really cheating on her, Christine said, “Different age has different thinking. It’s not easy. I already understood half the picture, and I have asked the most important question! After knowing the important point, I can then come out and work in peace.”
Christine said that she did not know the woman in the clip, and she would rather not know the woman. “There is always a reason for every incident. I will not blame the other party. I will also reflect on myself and spend more time with him.”
Entering into their 17th year of marriage next month, Christine will stand by her husband. “Although I have not got the full picture, I still need to support him. If I ditch him at this time, how are we considered a family? Thank you everyone for your concern. I am sorry that everyone is worrying for us. I apologise on behalf of Kasey.”
Christine also said that after work, she would return home to “interrogate” her husband.
“Actually, I am a very sweet and understanding woman. I will hear his explanation. I won’t just believe one side of story. Be it a friend or husband. I have to give a chance. He said that he felt bad that I had to respond on his behalf when he went for a meal. I become his manager. He said he felt bad but he did not apologise. If he apologised, he would have done the wrong thing. I hope he would not say sorry to me. He went for a meal, and I had to respond, so I have to be very calm when I answer questions Thank you to all the reporters for your concern.”
Yesterday was Christine Ng's (伍詠薇) 47 years old birthday. Yesterday morning, Christine Ng uploaded photo of herself, her husband, Kasey Lin (練海棠), brother, Richard Eng (伍經衡) and Remus Choy (蔡一傑) and the others celebrated her birthday on Weibo. Christine Ng was given kiss by her hubby and it was very sweet. Christine Ng wrote: "Today is my birthday. Thank you to my parents in heaven. This year, my brother and I celebrate together and feel very happy. (His birthday is on 25 February)....Thank you to sister in-law, Irene and Remus Choy for attending. Yi Sheng He Qiu (一生何求)."
Christine Ng (伍詠薇) and husband Lin Hoi Tong (練海棠), years ago were happily married in Vancouver and is known as an envied couple in the entertainment industry. Today was their 16th year wedding anniversary. Christine wrote online her declaration of love: "We have been together for 16 years, it is not easy. Please continue to hold my hand to roam this earth. Thank you". She even shared a sweet photo of her and husband wearing their wedding ring together. Upon seeing the photo, Ada Choi gave her blessings to the couple: "Holding hands....everlasting love!"
It was rumoured that Christine Ng (伍詠薇) originally had a role in new series, Lord of Shanghai (梟雄), and many scenes with Anthony Wong (黃秋生) as well. However, she requested for additional scenes from film producer in order to compete with Myolie Wu (胡杏兒). TVB then withdrawed her from the series instead. As such, Christine accepted an interview and expressed that she was shocked and laughed upon knowing it. She said: "It is so exaggerating! They did approach me if I am interested in the role and this happens at an earlier stage. At that point of time, I have no idea Myolie Wu will be acting and why should I request for additional scenes?" Christine added that she approached the film producer once only.
When asked about being 'freeze' by TVB, Christine replied that she will be taking part in a stage play and applied leave from TVB long ago. She also emphasised that her relationship with TVB was pretty good.
Artiste Christine Ng (伍詠薇) and artistic instructor, Ricky Kwok (郭慶彬) shared the accessory tips for Autumn season at an event and it was obvious that Christine had gained weight. She expressed that she could be fat or slim at times and felt that health was most important. Christine said: "At my age, health is the most important and gaining slight weight will not cause death. Pounds in weight does not matter to me. (Your hubby prefers fat or slim?) He loves me no matter what I am. In fact, guys prefer girls to have more meat and I feel that girls look better when they have more flesh. Too skinny means too dry."
When mentioned about workload, Christine disclosed that she will be the guest performer for Joe Junior's concert and her first time to sing English song as well. She said: "I am very nervous which probably causes me to have water retention." She added that Joe Junior invited her many times to be the guest performer before and said: "I have no confidence in myself. Thus I turn them down but I am practising my singing skills and English pronunciation now."
Artiste Christine Ng (伍詠薇) attended an opening ceremony for a Medical Group. Christine has good experience for skin treatment and would also share beauty tips, but earlier she undertook a liposuction procedure. She said: "I know recently there have been a lot of medical and cosmetic accidents. I would not worry because, I have also been selling beauty products and the companies who create the products are no problem". (Does liposuction hurt?) No pain, half anesthesia around the belly button area. The procedure wasn't long.
When asked about Sheila Chan's (陳淑蘭) recent cosmetic incident resulting her in slurred speech, she said she has also noticed about the news. "I know Sheila, but I did not ask her. I am a very careful person and I hope she will get well soon".
Christine Ng (伍詠薇) accepted an interview from a radio station and disclosed that her ex-boyfriend cheated on her before. She said: "Everyone assumes that I will explode and turn evil upon meeting the third party. In fact, I can be very calm and cool." Christine expressed that her ex-boyfriend admitted he was in the wrong and said: "I am not afraid to say and even give him a slap, but did forgive him and patch up eventually." She added that such playboy was not a good choice to become husband.
Artiste Christine Ng (伍詠薇) has recently been actively practicing yoga and has resulted her in gaining back muscle lines. However, sometimes she will have back bone pains, but luckily she has a good way to relieve the pain which is using a bamboo clothes stick! Christine even demonstrated herself with an uploaded photo and left a message saying: "I love the bamboo clothes stick, stretching is a good help, very soothing". Even her good friend and yoga instructor Almen Wong (黃佩霞) left a message praising her of having a pretty back muscle line. Almen also said: "Look at my sister's muscle line. All her hard work has been paid off". Christine responded by thanking her trainer saying: "Yes, thanks to my tough trainer who gave me the best results. I will work harder!"
Christine Ng and her husband Kasey Tong attended a store opening ceremony of a skincare brand. Christine pocketed 7 figures to be the brand's spokesperson. 44 year old Christine laughed and said her skin quality is as good as those age 40 and below. She said: "My husband uses the skincare products with me. I take the sponsored skincare products and share them with my husband. We look beautiful together." She expressed for the first half of the year, she will not be accepting any TVB or Mainland work. She hopes to spend more time adjusting her body and mind.
It was rumored because Joel Chan was pursuing Florinda Ho, he had a fallout with his god-sister Christine. Now that Joel is making a comeback in TVB series, Christine said: "Good. (Collaborate in a series?) I don't have any plans in the first half of the year, but that's no problem." She expressed she does not keep in touch with Joel, but won't feel awkward if she bumps into him. "When I meet someone I don't like, I won't talk to them or care about them. I will treat them as if their invisible. (You won't say anything to Joel when you see him?) No. When I see him, I'll greet him. I have manners. He also isn't an invisible person."
Rumour has it that actress Christine Ng has boycotted the promotional activities for her latest TVB drama, "Will Power", to show her dissatisfaction towards TVB's preferential treatment to Fala Chen.
HK Channel website reported that the 44-year-old actress was nowhere to be seen during the two promotional events last week, allegedly due to TVB's decision to emphasise Fala Chen's role in the drama rather than hers.
Sources claimed, "Christine is unhappy. In the series, her role is linked to lead stars Wayne Lai and Moses Chan in that her character has had relationships with them. Christine thought she would get more screen time. But TVB instead asked the producer to add more scenes with Fala and cut Christine's in a bid to get Fala to renew her contract with the company."
As a result, Christine spent her time vacationing in Paris with good friends Julian Cheung, Anita Yuen and Calvin Choy instead of attending TVB's activities, and said that TVB intentionally gave her roles in smaller productions despite the fact that she has stayed with the company for 17 years and starred in over 20 TVB dramas.
However, the producer of "Will Power" denied the allegations, "Although I do want the whole cast to attend the promotional events, [Christine] told me that her husband has some business in France and she needs to help him."
Friends think Christine Ng is the "female Anthony Wong" or the "female Eric Tsang", but she's actually not. She is not like the former, frequently trying to be the "Super Righteous Man" nor is she like the latter who makes the wrong comments and offends people. You can say she is conducted with propriety. Some people might think, just by her physical appearance, that she can really be offending or she likes to spread gossips. Looking back at her record, Christine rarely has any gossips, except for the high-profile fall out with former good friend Joel Chan. Towards her job, friends, gossips or the media, Christine will always just touch on it and leave it there, making sure she doesn’t overdo anything.
Self-Recommendation
From 2005 - 2010, Christine was nominated every year for the best actress and best supporting actress awards, but she leaves empty-handed each year. Christine said she doesn't take it to heart, but still has hope. "Actually I'm personally in the calm state already, but I want to emphasize awards is absolutely not the reason why I decided to participate in Beauty At War."
Christine said she waited 9 years for this sequel to happen. "I watched War and Beauty and at the time I thought to myself, wouldn't it be great if I could be in the sequel. I waited so many years, I'm old now and thought it would never happen! Later, I found out Beauty At War was a proposed series and they were recruiting artists. I went to meet TVB executive Catherine Tsang and producer Jonathan Chik to recommend myself." Because of this series, Christine Ng recommended herself to the producer for the first time. This is something most artists are unwilling to do, especially for those at Christine’s level, this action is called ‘casting’. "I said to them, if you are casting, I am willing to accommodate you. They felt surprised, for what reason would I want to do this ‘casting’? I also told them, ‘you can still audition me’. In the end, they didn't do the audition, lucky. Haha."
The FaDan Assessment
She expressed when thinking about the awards, we cannot just look at Beauty At War, there are other series and FaDans too. Christine has been in the industry for 24 years and should have the qualification to assess the current FaDans. She expressed: "Ah Yi (Tavia Yeung) is strong and grounded; Myolie Wu is rather modern, she can do some exploring and try out other things; Sharon Chan, I'm definitely familiar with her. She has a lot of room for development. I think she's too tall and her legs are too long, hahaha. Many guys are not as tall as her." Previously Kate Tsui was rumored on bad terms with Christine, what does she think about her? She said: "I collaborated with Kate in one series. I watched her improve continuously, but I don’t know her well enough, so I don't dare to say too much about her."
Purely A Game
Don't dare to speak? All along, everybody thought there isn’t anything Christine wouldn’t dare to say.. She's given us the impression like she's very casual, straightforward and does things as she pleases. Just like at the Mr. Hong Kong shows, Christine behaved like a wolf, like a tiger, but it turns out everything she did was just to accommodate the show and to create some atmosphere. "The producer told us if the atmosphere was like this or that, it would be great."
We thought Christine is a person full of enthusiasm, but she's the complete opposite: "You think I'm a person with a 100 friends, but actually I don't even go out. I don't like lively atmospheres, I like peaceful atmospheres. For instance, Sharon Chan loves lively atmospheres, but I just can't follow through with her extreme liveliness. She might say to me, 'Sister, let's go eat. I want to see you everyday, I love you.' I say to her, ‘I love her too, but I can only see you once a month. Can you still be my good friend?’ If so, then carry on. I am that type of person. If you invite me out for dinner and I say I need to go home and take a shower, then you can just count me out. Haha. Or perhaps you ask me, why are you not enthusiastic with me? I would ask you enthusiastically, 'Why do you think I'm not enthusiastic?' It's interesting, its a like flirting personality."
Not Talking to Joel Chan
Can other people easily upset Christine? She said she’s not a person who easily gets upset: “I know what you’re trying to ask. Its not easy! Not easy!” Exactly, I did want to want to ask about Joel Chan. We never mentioned his name, but the conversation implied it. Christine added: “I look like someone good at arguing and falling out with someone, but I only had very few fall outs in my life. I just want to tell you, I’m a peaceful person. Honestly, you’ve seen me in the industry for so long, I rarely have any enemies because that’s my personality, I don’t like having enemies.”
“But if someone pisses me off, I won’t talk to them. I would be really, really upset and say ‘I’m not talking to you!’ If you ask me about that person, I’m still not talking to them, no comment. When I’m not forgiving or talking to someone, then I definitely have my reasoning. It should be said this way, I am not a reckless person. Each individual has some kind of chemistry with the other person, whatever happens between them or whatever episode they get into, I don’t think its necessary to be so frank about it.” In all honesty, will Christine really not forgive Joel? “Actually I don’t want to talk about him. All the questions relating to him, that you previously asked me, I’m not responding.” OK! FINE! No problem, I’m just trying to ask the questions I should be asking.
Christine Ng had always been a bold and straightforward person, even if her husband Kasey Tong is by her side, she still has the courage to speak her mind. Last night, Christine and her husband appeared in Macau to watch TABOO The Show of Secret Fantasies. When Christine saw two sexy and hot Western men, she got so high. The MC teased Christine, she might get too excited and run up on stage! Kasey said: "No fear, prepared for that!" She started hugging and touching the half-naked men and pretended to kiss one of them. Christine laughed and said she's watching this show to learn some tips on how to perform super sexy dances and because the couple wanted to try something new. She joked: "I'm very old school, I just wear a sleep dress, close the windows and pretend to pole dance. It's a funny version!"
When speaking of Beauty At War, Christine had one scene where she was about to commit suicide with scissors, but Netizens later took that and made it into a spoof, telling her to "hurry up and go die!" Because of this Christine and Netizens got into a war of words. She said, still with an upset tone: "The Weibo world is freedom to publish. Whether people like me or not, I don't mind. But telling someone to go die, don't mention whether I'm upset or not, I want to ask why do artists have to withstand these things? I'm not upset, I was just telling them that there should be mutual respect and I wanted to defend artists from getting scolded randomly. One Netizen said, 'eat too many salty fish, deserve to get thirsty'. I didn't care about that, it's just everyone has their own limits."
Lately due to TVB new series Beauty At War, lead actresses Christine Ng (Miss 5) and Sheren Tang have been on the headlines. Yesterday it was reported Miss 5 exposed she used to smoke marijuana; she joined the triad; and she's been "the other woman" before. In regards to this, Miss 5 expressed during a phone interview that it is all true, but the article's content were taken from her pass interviews, where she mentioned these facts. She said: "The reporter called me and asked if I'm like this or that. At the time, I was at my hotel room party and even put the call on speaker for my girl friends to listen. They (reporters) just took my past interview recordings and put it together. I basically didn't do any exclusive interview with them."
It was rumored Miss 5 developed a deep relationship with her Beauty At War palace maid sisters, they partied together and didn't even invite her on-screen elder sister Sheren Tang. Miss 5 expressed although she does not have a sisterly relationship with Sheren nor do they have a deep friendship, but they are definitely not on bad terms. She said: "First, I did invite Sheren to my hotel room party, but she's just too busy and didn't have the time. Sheren has a lot to do, she's really really busy. Actually you all shouldn't make it so complicated. Whoever has time, then they're welcome to come, but I did develop a good friendship with the group of palace maids while we were shooting the series. I can really party crazy with them. When I was filming the series, I really didn't get many opportunities to get in touch with my sister (Sheren)."
Miss 5 stressed she didn't pay for the hotel room party, she joked she just has "good benefits" from having too many friends and good people relations. She said the party was sponsored. When speaking of having a lot more gossips because of her increased popularity? She laughed: "Prepared for this, it definitely will be this way! The most important is being able to help the series."
Yesterday Christine Ng was on a radio interview and promoted the premiere of her new series Beauty at War. She expressed she is very satisfied with her role and although she has over 20 years of acting experience, filming for this series made her feel like a newcomer. Christine said: "The two directors were always telling me on how I should do this and that scene. If people heard this, I slightly feel like I have no face. Also, I didn't dare to look up directly at Sheren Tang." However, Christine feels that learning never ends for an artist; always seeking for new improvements.
Does Christine hope to win an award based on this role? She said: "If so, that would be like a bonus, but I'm used to it." She also praised Tony Leung having 'fire' for jumping in joy when he won the Film King award, despite this being his fourth time. Christine expressed if she won an award, she would jump even higher than Tony.
"Miss 5" Christine Ng has been feeling excited lately because her new series Beauty At War is airing on April 22nd. War and Beauty was a huge hit back in 2004 and now that the sequel is finally airing, as one of the female leads, of course Christine is feeling anxious.
Christine frankly expressed she personally enjoyed watching War and Beauty and this time, she's apart of the sequel and feels especially excited. "I've always been a Jonathan Chik fan. I had already noticed him from the films he produced in his early years, but after so many years we only collaborated in ATV's The Movie Tycoon (1994); TVB's Cold Blood Warm Heart (1995) and CIB Files (2006), and still didn't really know each other well. This time, because the script was written on the spot, we had more opportunities to chat and get to know each other more."
Christine described her role 'Shun Tai Fei' (Consort Shun) as a woman with heavy resentment because right after she married the Emperor, he dies and she immediately turned into a widow. Because she had never been loved or got favored by the emperor, she turned into a ruthless woman, the one causing all the trouble in the palace. In reality, Christine has been happily married to her husband Kasey Lin for 14 years and had always maintained an energetic and positive attitude. She frankly expressed because her role is the complete opposite of herself, it was a challenge for her. "Usually when I start a new series, I do my preparations half a month before, but this time I spent 2 months prior to do the outline for the role. I watched the original War and Beauty and watched several other palace related dramas to use as reference. At home, I practiced how to walk with the shoes from the Qing dynasty and because I knew the script would be written as we are filming, I just had to practice my walking and then focus on my lines. But, honestly this time around it was quite difficult for me. The dialogue was really long, the language was too complex, I didn't even know some of the words and to top it off, the script wasn't complete before we started filming. That period, I really felt like I was taking exams, I had to memorize my lines every night. It was so stressful."
Christine expressed this is the most difficult series that she has ever worked on, but she didn't get depression like Sheren Tang did. "I really didn't think Sheren had any issues though! Perhaps because, that time we were all just so concentrated in memorizing our own lines, so all got anxious! I'm personally quite positive, very optimistic and I have never gotten so into character that my mental health gets affected too. (When you go home and see your husband, you forget everything?) This time, it has nothing to do with him! Its when I see my two beloved cats so cute, they made me so happy that I forget everything!"
When speaking of her husband Kasey, he makes surprise visits to the set and constantly takes pictures of his wife. In reality, Christine is certain she won't be a distressed woman. She laughed: "I'm not that stupid, I let all my unhappiness out! (You have such a great husband, there must be a lot of girls surrounding him?) If there are, that's normal. This means I have good taste! (Kasey cuts in: I don't let anyone get near me!) If he really does find true love, I would let him leave and won't stop him. I believe he would do the same for me. It's been so many years, we have mutual trust. We respect each other, so there won't be any 'imperial orders' nor do we check on one another. We take initiative to report of our whereabouts because we don't want the other to worry. All along, he has never done anything that crosses the line."
Yesterday Wayne Lai and Christine Ng were shooting for TVB new series Will Power. Christine collaborates with Fala Chen once again in this new series, coincidentally the two have the same birthday -- February 24th. Christine was asked if she took a day off to celebrate her birthday? She expressed work comes first: "I collaborated with Fala before, we both have the same birthday. Back then, I asked her if she's taking the day off, but she said no. Fala never takes off on her birthday, this junior reminded me that I have to make work my priority. Fala is a very professional artist! (How will you celebrate?) Not doing anything. First there's so much to do and secondly I don't want to bother my friends. At most, I'll just have dinner with a few friends or just spend the day with my husband!"
Wayne reveals while he was driving, he heard on the radio about the government making improvements on the housing policy for the new year. He feels there isn't enough substantive measures and that the HK housing problems are severe. When asked if he'll buy a home for his son? Wayne said: "Children should rely on their own efforts. I'll give him whatever I have left."
