Since Hawick Lau (劉愷威) and Yang Mi (杨幂) announced their divorce last year, he has kept a low profile and hasn’t had any dating rumors. The times paparazzi have spotted Hawick Lau was when he was either shopping for his daughter or picking her up from school. Yang Mi, on the other hand, has been involved in dating rumors a few times already.

It looks like it’s Hawick Lau’s turn to get involved in dating rumors. According to Hong Kong news outlet, Next Media, they claim Hawick Lau is secretly dating TVB actress, Roxanne Tong (湯洛雯), 13 years his junior, after being setup by Rosina Lam (林夏薇) at a gathering at her place earlier this year. Next Media says they don’t want to reveal their relationship because his divorce is still fresh and wants to maintain his image.

The reports continue saying Hawick Lau traveled with Roxanne Tong to England and France in May. Rosina Lam and Roxanne Tong became good friends after starring in the series, “Daddy Cool” (逆緣). The reports claim Rosina Lam lent her Victoria Peak mansion for them to use as a love nest and arranged a car to pick them up. Next Media also says Hawick Lau would pick up Roxanne Tong to go on dates in Shenzhen as he is always working in the mainland.

Reading all this already sounds so bizarre. There aren’t any interactions between the two. At Rosina Lam’s birthday gathering in July, Roxanne Tong wasn’t present either. When Sina Entertainment reached out to Hawick Lau’s team about the dating rumors, a staff member expressed, “Fake, completely fabricated.” No word from Roxanne Tong yet, but it probably won’t be needed as this dating rumor is just not plausible.

The two got married in 2014 and had a daughter, Noemie, in June of the same year. The divorce rumors were especially rampant this year when the two former couple’s online interactions were reduced. Not only that, Yang Mi had posted a picture of only herself during Mid-Autumn festival, making many question why Hawick Lau and Noemie were missing.

The official statement says:

“Thank you to everyone for your love and support for Hawick Lau and Yang Mi. Through both parties careful consideration, they have decided to relay the following message through our management company: The couple have already signed the divorce papers, amicably splitting up this year and ending their marriage.

This decision was carefully considered with respect by both parties. Although they won’t be living together as a married couple anymore, both parties will take on the role as a family member to take care and raise their child together. At the same time, they will wish well of each other’s future as friends.

Both artists used the media’s public resources for their own personal affairs, troubling everyone. For this, we extend our sincerest apologies. At the same time, in order to protect the child and both families, after this statement is public, both parties will no longer respond to this matter. We hope the media and the public will respect their wishes and give them their own space. Please don’t bother their child or either party’s families.

We didn't invite friends from the industry because its hard to match the schedules for so many people. I don't want to trouble anybody. (Hold a wedding banquet in HK?) I still have two jobs on hand, haven't planned for a HK wedding banquet and don't have time to go on a honeymoon.
