[Watchdog] writer (Choi Ting Ting) announced the whole creative process of writing the story to the public at the conference yesterday. She expressed that in 2007, the first draft for the series had already been written, at the time entitled [Good Dog On the Beat - 好狗出更], the story was inspired by her feelings about having a dog as a pet. In May 2007, the production crew thought of using police dogs and the villiage as part of the theme to the series. Ms. Choi said: "During the whole creative story writing process, there a copied component at all. If you want to say I stole the story, then I stole my own story with my dog or the stories my friends had with their dogs." She expressed that the producer of this series had put in a lot of effort and now is injured because of this no evidence charge. It is a great insult and we must get our justice back.

Catherine Tsang expressed that "stealing" is a serious allegation, the production crew charged without any evidence is an irresponsible judgement, she said: "In the past the Media wrote how our series were 'similar' to other series, we could take it as an component of the entertainment world, but this time getting accused of stealing is hard to accept."

Leading actors and actress Steven Ma, Kent Cheng and Linda Chung all supported TVB's decision of taking legal action for accusing the [Watchdog] crew.

Linda Chung: "Creation is not a difficult task. I don't think it is stolen. Actually there are so many series out there, of course there will be some similarities. Earlier it was said that one dating scene was a copy, now the story is copied, actually writing a story really isn't that difficult! (Already been in several series, do you worry about the scripts too?) Not really, we are already pressured enough from work, worrying about the behind the scenes issues too is going to be too much. I just want to do my best on my own part, that is enough!"

Steven Ma: "I already talked to TVB over the phone about this and I feel unhappy to hear about this. The spirit and efforts of the production crew are slandered. I hope the media don't write things out of context, now even accusing us of stealing? I can also say that there's a really famous film called [老友狗狗] in Japan, are we copying them too? Our original series title wasn't [Watchdog] either! So, I really do support TVB taking action for justice. Ms. Tsang and everyone who had been in production for so many years, encountering such incident, of course they are angered!"

Pinky Cheung felt unfortunate ATV's version never happened
On contrast, ATV's Pinky Cheung who was going to apart of ATV's version of [Watchdog] expressed that it's unfortunate that the series never happened. She said: "For the role, I went to the dog centers several times, the place was quite far too, but in the end we never started shooting. It's unfortunate, but there's no choice, I have been ok with it. (In TVB's version, which character were you going to be?) Linda Chung's role, but my role isn't as tomboy as hers."
