Two years later, Flor Chan is finally filming another drama. This time, she will be playing an all-round secretary in TVB's new drama, "Good Morning Boss", which revolves around survival in the office. She will play a married couple with Ben Wong. She said: "I have known Ben for many years, but this is the first time we are collaborating. In the drama, he falls love at first sight with me, but afterwards our marriage takes a turn, and I even catch him cheating in bed."

Flora revealed that this is the last drama she has before her contract with TVB ends. She has just recently finished her Masters in English at HKU, and is planning to apply to continue her studies for a PHD. She said: "I never said I would retire from this history, but will juggle things for a long period of time. Before, my daughter was still young and I wanted to spend more time with her. (Will you have another child?) I haven't thought about it yet. I am very satisfied with this daughter. She is very talented at drawing, and good at school. Having a child isn't something you can simply get just by saying it. I will think about it again later on, although I know I can't think too long." Flora expressed that the drama will start filming soon. Luckily her daughter is very understanding, and she is already very happy that she is filming in Hong Kong, so she doesn't need to be apart from her daughter for too long. Asked if she will renew her contract with TVB? She replied: "I will think about it later on, decide after filming is done."

Upon accepting an interview by TVB Dinner Confidential, Flora's upper left eyebrow was covered with a bandaid and explained that it was the cause of bringing her daughter for cycling. Flora then said "Knee pads and helmets are placed in the car and I plan to cycle together with my daughter. I forget that I open the car door slightly and hit by the car door when I bend down. I cover myself as it is extremely painful and my fingers is covered with blood out of a sudden. Fortunately, my daughter remains calm and I tell her to ask her father to come over."

Flora's hubby immediately sent her to the hospital and found a familiar cosmetic surgeon to stitch for her wound eventually. When asked if there would be any scars, Flora replied "Most likely it won't be as the place where the wound is has many blood vessels but even if there is, a minor scar is all right.

When pointed out that the cause of her injury was due to family violence, Flora said with an agitated tone "No such incident and I guess nobody will believe that. I do not think I need to tell everyone about my relationship and there is nothing for me to hide as well. Most importantly, my fans know I am fine and the main reason for appearing in this programme is to let everyone knows I am okay."

Right now pursuing a Master degree, Flora jokingly said the more she studied, the more addicted she was to studies. She will be submitting the papers in July and will graduate if everything went smoothly. She even revealed that she might be pursuing a Doctorate as well and will consider filming if she had the free time.

43 year old Flora Chan's (陳慧珊) second husband Mike Chung (鍾家鴻)  announced bankruptcy two years ago. Flora did not mind the problem of bankruptcy and even moving out of living from a big house to a small house because it did not affect the family situation. Flora is currently enrolled at University of Hong Kong and plans to become a teacher in the future, as long as the family of three is in a financial stability. Flora has been away from acting for a few years, she will soon be returning for new TVB series 'M Club' alongside Carman Lee, Rachel Lee, Fennie Yuen, Gloria Yip and more.

Flora Chan's life is very low key, that often after filming she heads home and rarely to be seen in public. A few days ago around 6pm, Flora was spotted dressed in casual, wearing a pair of sunglasses and a backpack with her 6 year old daughter and her maid as they went grocery shopping. Most of the time Flora was carrying her daughter and the maid was responsible to carry the groceries. Surprisingly, the reporters found Flora with a bruise near her eye and even with a bandaid on her upper left brow, but as soon as Flora saw the reporters she quickly faced away from the cameras.

The next day after being exposed of her bruises, Flora did not attend the new store opening of Ada Choi's (蔡少芬) uncle and even the busy mum didn't pick up her daughter from school, but instead it was her husband Mike Chung who had to be the mum for the day. At 2pm Mike drove home and took a rest for half an hour and then had to leave to pick up his daughter studying at an international school and afterwards father and daughter went straight home. Reporters tried to ask about Flora's well being, he replied by SMS saying "Flora is well recently, she is living normally and she is only focused on her studying and taking care of the daughter". Mike was also asked about how Flora got her injuries, but had no reply.

Additionally, TVB series M Club's producer accepted a phone interview regarding Flora's well being, he expressed that Flora is always professional in her acting. He also said that "I haven't seen her since the completion of filming and originally we have made plans to meet up today but she said she is busy with her studies, so we had to reschedule our meeting.

Flora Chan is currently back in school studying at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) for her Master's Degree. She once expressed her husband's bankruptcy did not affect her and she's maintaining the same quality life, however, according to a report by [Good News], Flora did not mind filling Veronica Yip's shoes (being the second choice) in TVB's new proposed series Aerobic Girls. The series is scheduled to start in June.

Aerobic Girls' producer Chan Wai Kwoon admitted in a phone interview that this is true and he had already discussed the script with Flora. "We chatted before, she has to go to school, but won't start the semester until September. The series will start shooting in June until sometime in October, the schedules may overlap a little. (Is she filling Veronica Ip's shoes?) No, I have to clarify this, Flora's role is not Veronica Ip's one. There are a few female leads in this series, Flora's role was written based on her character." Yesterday TVB executive Virgina Lok responded and said Flora's participation in the series is not confirmed yet, but TVB will try to accommodate Flora's schedule for school and caring for her daughter as much as possible. As for Flora, she has not responded yet.

Flora Chan has been through two marriages. Since marrying her manager Mike Chung in 2006, she appeared very loving in public with her husband. In 2007, Flora and Mike had their daughter Mira and the family of three had been living a happy life. Flora concentrated on looking after her daughter and rarely appears on-cameras. Earlier, problems arise in Mike's marketing company as he encountered disputes. As a result, he filed for bankruptcy with the High Court, which formally went into effect in March. Bearing the burden of supporting the family, Flora remained loyal to her husband and is willing to go through the hardships with him. On Flora's 42nd birthday, she decided to just celebrate economically at home. At around 4pm, Mike drove to the supermarket to prepare for his wife's birthday celebration. He was seen buying a $30 frozen chicken and then some fresh vegetables.

This year Flora didn't get to have any major celebration for her birthday, but she is still happy to have her husband and daughter to accompany her. Yesterday, Flora was spotted taking her daughter to school as usual. When Flora discovered that reporters were following her, she was in a good mood and waved to them. When asked if she celebrated her birthday? She smiled widely: "Yes. (Did your husband give you a birthday gift?) Yes. (How about your daughter?) About the same!" Following that, she jokingly asked reporters: "Actually, do you even know its not my birthday today?"

It's been a long time Flora Chan. No, it's been a long time since we've seen you on TV since we usually see you on the print media. However, often times, they are troublesome or 'debt' negative reports. Also, with the news of your husband's bankruptcy, Fans are very concerned and are interested in gossiping about the inside story. Each time we see Flora, she is in a hurry to leave, but this time it's a rare chance that she gets to sit down and chat with Cosmo.

As for Flora's HK fans, who have been waiting to see her again, wait no more, Flora is making a comeback.

"It's just, people do different things during different stages in life. Several years back when I was still at TVB shooting series, I placed most of my time on work. Today, I allocate my time to family and my own personal wisdom. My daughter is now 2 years old and I have decided to concentrate on taking care of her. This November, she will be starting pre-school and won't need her mother, and I can have some time to do my own things, such as physical activity or reading. I also still really enjoy acting and have done some Mainland series, it's just not broadcast in HK."

The Westernize Flora working in Mainland, it definitely will be a challenge for her to adapt to life in Mainland. However, she loves a challenge: "Whether if it's Mainland or HK, I am still an actress. You can say there is no difference or you can say there is a great difference." She explains: "In HK, the crew are usually the same few people, and when I get to the set, I already know how the situation will be like. However in Mainland, we are always working with different crews, not just the different actors and directors, the culture and system of values of all the Mainland staff differs from HK. When trying to adapt to the new environment, I am able to take an another step to further build up myself. I do all my homework and can create new sparks with the co-stars."

When she says 'do all her homework', she means for the role she will have to get herself into a new life. Flora said: "There could be 20 different types of Professionals because the role has her own background and past. Her past will affect her specific reactions, so I will take this background and create a new personality." Flora expressed acting to her is always new and fresh because each role is very interesting.

This TV Queen, understands the television awards and also does not think too much about it. She said: "Even if artists' put in great efforts and contributions, they may not get any awards. Honestly, artists are just for business use. In that year, whichever artist was able to help the boss make a profit, then that artist will get the award. That's how the game works in award ceremonies, all are like that."

Entertainment news readers probably knows about Flora's husband and manager Mike Chung's bankruptcy due to a failed business. The lead female generously faces the whole situation and hasn't 'left during a crisis'. Outsiders should not speculate too much.

"The media had always report the negative and less of the good. I just live my life. My husband is a confident person that knows what he wants. It requires a lot of confidence for a man to go out to the supermarket and buy groceries. Likewise, being a homemaker also requires a lot of confidence. Just as long as the important people understands and friends know, then that is enough. I will never force others to understand me or like me."

Mr. and Mrs. Chung have a deep relationship and a beloved daughter. "My daugther's name 'Leut Yin', the 'Leut' is the word for established law or discipline. It's my husband's idea, he hopes she can become an useful person. Her English name is Mira, which is a combination of my husband's English name (Mike) and my name (Flora)."

As a mother, it represents Flora has already reached the second half of life. Her first and foremost goal obviously relates to the next generation. Flora said she will raise her daughter to become an useful person and contribute to society. In series, Flora often plays intelligent women and often lingers between her career and love. In reality, she won't hesitate, her family is the top priority.

Despite placing family in first place, Flora does not disregard her health. Today seeing Flora close up, we discover her delicate and graceful facial appearance, 10 years still the same. Her mother helped her come up with a secret to skincare. Flora said: "Life balance. That does not just mean on the outside, but the inside is also very important. Maintain a balance. For whatever it is, it cannot be forced." Flora stressed: "I am very happy, happier than before because I know what I want. I possess true confidence. You can say, the choices are on my hand." Sure, you have choices, you are the boss right?

'Boss Chan' decides to treat aging like it's nothing. "I have never been worried about my age. You cannot stop time, so why not just keep moving forward. The rule to skincare is to do appropriate things in the appropriate time. For example, when you are in your 20s, still have a lot of youthfulness, basic skincare is enough. When you get older, you need some products." Flora laughed, she's not trying to act smart, it's just because as Neutrogena's spokesperson, she was asked to promote their products. She does genuinely believe that Neutrogena's line of Anti-Wrinkle products really did help her.

"Whether if its the skin or mentality, there is no need to put too much pressure on yourself. That is the direction of taking good care of yourself." Flora's core stress reduction is to have self-confidence: "When facing any situation, having self-confidence can lead you to a solution."

Indeed, someone filled with self-confidence and love for oneself, why would they fear the gossips circulating in the public?

In 2006, Flora Chan secretly married her manager and good friend (Mike Chung) in the United States. That following year, Flora gave birth to their daughter Mira Chung. Since then, Flora focused on looking after her daughter and rarely appeared on-screen. Occasionally, she shoots advertisements and Mainland series, and seldom appears in Hong Kong.

According a friend of Flora, although she does trust her husband Mike, but they are both financially independent. Earlier Mike lost a lot of money from the marketing company he opened and became a sinner. He basically couldn't handle it any longer, but it's not that Flora didn't want to help her husband, it was just because their daughter is still young and a lot of money needs to be set aside for her. So, the couple decided to file for bankruptcy.

Flora took advantage of the time where TVB is fishing for FaDans to make comebacks, and has decided to shoot Triumph in the Skies II in June. Earlier, she attended Neutrogena's event and her appearance leveled off by a half compared to before, so she does hope to grab in more advertisement jobs in attempt to earn the money back and leave it for her daughter's future schooling."

Early February, Mike filed for bankruptcy with the High Court and the hearing is set for March 20th. It was understood that Flora initially had plans to send her daughter Mira to study at an international school in Shanghai, but because of the bankruptcy, her plans went to the trash. Flora's friend expressed: "All along, Flora really hoped to send her daughter to study in Shanghai because the education system there is perfect. Also, the school is at international standards, I heard the tuition is several $10,000 a year. Now that Mike is bankrupted, she has to come back out to shoot series and change her plans. Her daughter will remain in the Hong Kong international school. Although Flora is unhappy, but she is understanding and believes its the same wherever her daughter studies at."

Regarding Flora's return for TITS2, the media contacted Mike and he said: "When the time comes, you all will know. It is not convenient for me to say. After all, Flora did say she wanted to go back and shoot series, what more is there to say?! It is me that is bankrupt, nothing to do with her, don't ask anymore!"

Two celebrity mothers Flora Chan and Karena Lam attended skincare brand Neutrogena's event. Flora's husband and manager Mike Chung had recently filed for bankruptcy. At the event, Flora kept her face to the side when facing the media and pictures. Later, she had no where to 'escape' to and helplessly stood for pictures. It has been a long while since Flora appeared at a public event, therefore she was rather nervous on stage and often stuttered on her words. She expressed her daughter (Mira) is 5 years old now, so she can make a comeback without too many worries. As for if she's rushing to make money? She said: "I don't care, just been working as I did over the years."

41 year old Flora admitted she had financial support from her husband, but she does not need his support in other areas. She expressed she is proud of her husband: "He had ideal contributions and it's just a temporarily down time for him. We will remain proactive and face the issues. (Bankruptcy?) It's not that big of a deal. (Better relationship?) We have always had a good relationship." However, Flora declined to comment on if she's feeling pressured on her daughter's school tuition. She only expressed she will still be studying at an international school.

When speaking of her work plan, she just completed a series in Mainland and expressed she does not mind flying back and forth between HK and Mainland. Flora said NOW and CityTelecom have both approached her, but she will first have to fulfill the 'per-series' contract she has with TVB: "There will definitely be a chance to shoot a series with them, but I'm not sure if its going to be Triumph in the Skies II." Reporters mentioned CityTelecom's Ricky Wong makes an extravagant offer, but Flora expressed she won't just look at the money.

After the event, Mike saved on the taxi money and drove his wife to Central in a compact car that belonged to the company Flora's with.

Flora Chan’s (陳慧珊) husband and manager, Mike Chung (鍾家鴻), filed for bankruptcy at the the High Court several days ago. Aside from being extremely frugal on household expenses, Flora had to take care of the living expenses of her husband and their daughter, Mira. After dropping off Mira at her school in her Audi car, Flora was spotted grocery shopping at a supermarket the other day. Due to the financial burden of having to support the entire family, Flora appeared haggard, lacking her past liveliness.

Graduating from Boston University with a degree in Journalism, Flora Chan returned to Hong Kong to pursue a career and was once a top fadan at TVB. Since marrying her second husband, Mike Chung, in 2007 and giving birth to their daughter, Mira, Flora significantly decreased her acting output. Occasionally, Flora filmed commercials, had cameo appearances in mainland dramas, and returned to film TVB series, Suspects In Love <搜下留情> in 2009. With her husband’s bankruptcy, Flora’s semi-retired and leisurely lifestyle underwent a dramatic shake-up.

Flora Chan Actively Seeking Work to Help Pay Bills

Earlier, Mike Chung stressed that his bankruptcy filing did not involve his wife, Flora Chan, and will not affect the lives of his family. However, with Mike’s bankruptcy, Flora naturally became the family’s economic pillar, shouldering immense pressure. In fact, Flora actively accepted numerous jobs to earn more money, while continuing to take her daughter to Stubbs Road ESF International Kindergarten school and shop for groceries.

Extremely Price Conscious

At 1 PM the day before, Flora Chan wore a quilted jacket, jeans, and no makeup, appearing at a City Super store in Times Square, Causeway Bay. Flora selected fish, frozen meat, pasta, bread and biscuits. For each item that she selected, Flora would first look at the price sticker and then the expiration date, carefully planning her purchases. Staying for only 15 minutes at the supermarket, Flora left in a hurry.

Moving From a Large to Smaller House

Earlier, Flora’s family of three resided in luxury 1,000 square feet apartment, which cost several tens of thousands (HKD) in monthly rent. Due to Mike’s bankruptcy, the family has moved into a smaller establishment. The Audi car that Flora was currently driving was purchased for $290,000 HKD in 2003, under the name of her own company, Talent and Hues Management Limited. Mike did not possess any shares in Flora’s company.

It was rumored that Ricky Wong’s (王維基) City Telecom (CT) was interested in recruiting Flora to film for them. The rumored project resembled TVB series, Triumph in the Skies <衝 上雲霄>. However, Flora still had an outstanding contract with TVB. In a telephone interview, Mike noted, “Actually, we possess the inclination to work [with TVB] again, but the timing did not work out earlier.”

Former TVB fadan, Flora Chan’s (陳慧珊) husband and manager, Mike Chung (鍾家鴻), recently filed for bankruptcy at the High Court. The court did not disclose any details regarding the bankruptcy filing. Asked to confirm the rumors, Mike Chung acknowledged that he did in fact file for bankruptcy, which did not involve his wife, Flora Chan.

After a discussion with his lawyer, Mike decided to file for bankruptcy, considering that this was the best decision for his family and himself. Wanting to protect his family, Mike hoped to minimize the extent of damage. Flora understood the entire situation and supported Mike’s decision.

A Personal Decision That Has Nothing to Do With Flora Chan

As a responsible person, Mike Chung felt there was no need to conceal his bankruptcy petition and deceive people. Indicating that unfortunate businessmen filed for bankruptcy for their own reasons in Hong Kong on a daily basis, Mike indicated that [his own situation] was not worthy of outside attention. Since Mike was Flora Chan’s husband, he also became a public figure. Due to the personal nature of the matter, Mike did not intend to reveal further details. Mike emphasized that the bankruptcy situation involved his company and did not implicate Flora Chan. Mike replied to the press’ questions to prevent unsubstantiated speculation, which may vilify his reputation further.

Aside from being Flora’s manager, Mike Chung was the owner of a marketing company. He acknowledged that in recent years, the company was not functioning smoothly, with some projects resulting in disputes. Since the company was not a limited company, Mike had to bear personal financial responsibility. Filing for bankruptcy, Mike hoped to veer the situation in the right direction.

Independent Finances

Mike revealed that Flora Chan possessed her own company. Thus, his bankruptcy filing will not affect her career and company. Flora has been very supportive of Mike’s situation. The bankruptcy filing did not affect his family’s life. Flora has been semi-retired in recent years. If she were to come across suitable work, she will consider it. Flora prioritized her daughter’s future development and how to provide a warm family life for her.

Flora Chan’s Two Marriages

Raised and educated in the United States, Flora Chan pursued her career in Hong Kong. The intelligent beauty left a deep impression with the audience. In 2000, Flora ended her 6-year marriage with her first husband, Chung Wai Ming (鍾偉明). At the helm of her TVB career, Flora was romantically linked with Moses Chan (陳豪), Bowie Lam (林保怡), Joe Ma (馬德鐘) and Producer Gary Tang (鄧特希). In 2002, Flora Chan won the TV Queen Award for her performance in Family Man "絕世好爸".

In 2003, Mike Chung became the most important man in Flora’s life. In 2006, Flora and Mike got married. After the birth of their daughter, Flora focused on child care while placing her work as a lower priority.

Flora Chan was once a TVB first line FaDan, but recently she switched over to the Mainland market. She is currently in Beijing shooting for a new series Mother In Law is Coming (丈母娘來了). The recent poaching crisis has left TVB scrambling to convince their artists to stay and bring back more talents. Flora admitted TVB recently invited her back to sign a long contract, but she didn't want to be restricted, so she declined the offer. Even if there is money, she rather have her freedom and focus on her family. Flora said: "If my schedule allows, I will consider shooting another TVB series."

Flora expressed she turned down several TVB series in the past because most of the roles required her to cry and weep, which greatly separates her from reality. For example, she turned down Born Rich before because the role went through too many ups and downs, perhaps she had to do rape scenes or fail in her career. Flora is no longer interested in these types of roles.

It was rumored that Flora was the financial support for her entire family after marriage. She said: "The rumor is false. I don't want to say too much. I just feel very happy now and I'm just out working now purely for my own interest." Asked if she's as powerful as in the series when with her husband at home? Flora laughed: "I have my own opinions, but I will also be a virtuous wife."

After 6 years, Flora Chan has returned to TVB to film the new series [Suspects in Love]. Yesterday, while attending a promotional event for the series with co-stars Joe Ma and Sharon Chan, she said: “The filming of this series was a very happy experience. If there are other suitable scripts, I may consider doing another series.” Asked whether she would let her daughter watch her series, Flora responded: “My daughter is only 2 ½ years old, so for now, I don’t let her watch TV. However, sometimes I do let her watch some educational cartoon DVDs.”

Flora wants to have another baby to keep her daughter company – boy or girl doesn’t matter; she says: “I am ready any time!” She feels that since the birth of her daughter, she has changed a lot – the most obvious change is understanding how to empathize with others as well as being less stubborn.

Also in attendance was Sharon Chan, who expressed that she is currently finishing up filming for the series [Can’t Buy Me Love]. Afterwards, she will be filming a new series with Myolie Wu and Joyce Tang; in the series, she will be paired with Sam Lee, which will be interesting for her.
