Jackie Chan’s (成龍) daughter with Elaine Ng (吳綺莉), Etta Ng (吳卓林), recently returned to Hong Kong as a married woman with her Canadian wife, Andi.  It has been quite tumultuous for her and her family as she came out as a lesbian and left home to be with Andi in Canada last year.  Her struggles in Canada were also documented when she and Andi were publicly asking for financial assistance and even tried to look for Jackie Chan as a last resort. 

“He’s actually not bad or good in my eyes because I don’t know him.”
Etta Ng and Andi recently sat down with Apple Daily for an exclusive interview.  They talk about their relationship and future and also bring up Etta Ng’s relationships with her father, Jackie Chan.  When asked if she’s ever seen her father before, Etta Ng, who has been given the moniker “Little Dragon Girl” by the media, responds, “I’ve never seen him.  You asking me if I’ve ever seen him is like me asking you.   The level of familiarity I have with him is about the same as yours.  He’s actually not bad or good in my eyes because I don’t know him.  I won’t judge a person I don’t know.  I know when I was younger I said some impulsive things, but right now my mental health is much more balanced.  I believe people will do wrong things sometimes.  However much wrong you did, is your life, not my life.  I don’t even care.  But it’s really weird.  Once I was born, everyone knew who I was.  I don’t even know who I am.  Everyone is looking at me and waiting to see how I die or how I end up.  I’m thinking to myself, what?”

When asked if it was stressful being Jackie Chan’s daughter, Etta Ng says, “It’s true.  That’s why I was really unhappy before.  It was the hardest for me when I was going to school in China.  People thought I had a relationship with my father and would say things like “rich girl, rich girl.”  I don’t even want to talk about that school, but those teachers are also useless.  I was on the ground being kicked.  A teacher passes by and says, “Don’t be like that.”  They stop and the teacher leaves, but they continue kicking.”

Jackie Chan once revealed in an interview that he was leaving half of his estimated 3 billion HKD fortune to his wife, Joan Lin (林鳳嬌) and son,  Jaycee Chan (房祖名), while the other half is being donated to charity.  In Jackie Chan’s latest memoir, there was no mention of Etta Ng at all.  On these comments, she expresses, “I don’t want anything from him.  And I don’t mind,  I’m not hurt.  It’s really none of my business.  It’s good that he’s donating to charity, but maybe I think too much, like where is his money going and how is it being used?  In the end, I don’t care.” 

About the video of her searching for Jackie Chan, Etta Ng says, “When I was looking for my father, there were a lot of things I didn’t know.  I wasn’t trying to get money from him or money from anyone else.  Everyone who watched the video said, “You want money, you want money.”  No, I was confused.  I was scared.  I have mental health problem sometimes.  I feel like a lot of things have made me lost.  In a way, yes, it was a cry for help, but it was a cry for help for information.  If I meet him, I’ll say, “Yo, what’s up dude.  That’s cool.  Can you give me some info? Like what happened when I was young?  Why is my mom like this? I need answers.”   

On Rumors of Jaycee Chan Reaching Out to Help
On whether she has met her brother, Jaycee Chan, Etta Ng says no, but the reporter presses on and mentions the rumors of him once helping her and even going out to have dinner together.  To this, Etta Ng says, “No, there was no such thing.  I don’t know him.  We have blood relations.  Like Mr. (Jackie) Chan, I don’t know you.  I don’t hate you.  I don’t love you.  I don’t have any feelings about him.  I only know if his existence.  That’s all.”  On why she changed her last name from Ng to Zen, she says, “I was never a Chan.  I want my own identity.  Zen is really just to remind myself to be calm.”

On Her Relationship with Andi
Etta Ng says about her relationship with Andi, “I understand everyone’s thinking. “You’re only 19 and don’t know what you’re thinking.  You’re rushing to get married.  You don’t know what you’re doing.  You guys will break up in a few years.”  No way.  I know what I’m doing.  She is perfect.  I don’t know how you want me to explain it.”

On the public’s opinion about Andi only being with her for money, Etta Ng says, “When we first met, she didn’t know I was the daughter of someone famous.  I tried my best to explain myself.  As for people saying she’s after my money, I don’t have any money!  So I don’t know what people think.  It’s funny to me.”

Etta Ng also shares she already knew she was gay in the 6th grade.  In order to appease her mother, she had once tried going out with a boy, but she felt it was wrong and hard to accept.  On Elaine Ng not accepting Andi, Etta Ng says, “I don’t think she would dare say it to the media, but I think she’s a traditional woman, it’s hard for her to accept.  When she sends me a message, it will say, “Tell your friend” not “Tell your wife.”  Andi is the person I love the most in the world.  My mom is my mom.  Every child wishes for their mom to accept their significant other.  I think this takes time to slowly adapt.  Maybe it’s too shocking all of a sudden for her to accept change.  So give her some time.  Of course I hope she accepts her, but we have to take it slow.  We can’t force things.” 

Jackie Chan (成龍) criticises the working attitude of a new female star and it is suspected that she is Anita Yuen (袁詠儀) who films Thunderbolt (霹靂火) movie with him in 1995. Five days ago on Weibo, Anita shares photo of Jackie and herself and the gift given by him. It shows that he has forgotten the unhappy past. She says: "The public has been suspecting that I am the female star who angers him and I finally know the truth due to the arrangement by Eric Tsang (曾志偉) on 17 August. Thank you to the gracious Jackie Chan and he even prepares a gift for me a long time ago. I am extremely touched and thank you to my brother. I will continue to work hard."

Jackie Chan (成龍) attended the opening ceremony of the hotel, Richard Mille as the shareholder and his son, Jaycee Chan (房祖名) as the director in Beijing on 15 June. Jackie Chan expresses it is impossible to be an actor forever and wants his son to become a businessman. As there is rumours between 16 years old Nana Ou-yang (歐陽娜娜) and Jaycee lately, Jackie rebuts: "You believe the rumours?" However, he feels it is not bad if the rumours is real since he works with Nana before. Asking if he is aware of Jaycee's preferred type of girl, Jackie Chan says: "Should have the same preference as me as we are father and son."

16 years ago, Elaine Ng gave birth to Etta Ng after an affair with Jackie Chan. Since Etta was born, she  has been called the “Little Dragon Girl”, and her move is closely watched by the media.

During a recent interview, Etta talked about her father for the first time.

“I have no feelings for him. This person is not in my life,” said Etta.

The 15-year-old teenager also spoke coldly of Jackie, “He is my biological father, but in my raising stage,  he is not my dad.”

Etta said that she would not bother about the “Little Dragon Girl” term, as she calls herself Etta Ng or Ng Chok Lam. However, her “Little Dragon Girl” identity has caused her to be ostracised and bullied by her classmates in school.

Etta also revealed that she used to envy her classmates who had their dads to pick them up from school, and she often felt sad without a father in her childhood.

“However, it doesn’t matter now. I am not angry with my father, and have never wished to see him. No feelings. As long as I have my mother with me. I don’t need my father.”

When spoke about her filing a police report against her mother recently, Etta said, “I admit it was an negligence and the approach was terrible. I have to be responsible, but it’s considered good for me and my mum. It’s a good beginning because everyone has to change. She has to watch her health and I need to share my inner thoughts with her more.”

Last month, Elaine Ng was arrested for alleged child abuse after her daughter, Etta Ng reported the case to the police.

After being discharged from hospital, Etta refused to move back home as she did not know how to face her mother. Etta then moved in with her godmother. Two weeks ago, Etta finally moved back home and reconciled with her mother.

Last week, the mother and daughter attended a birthday celebration. Etta confided in an auntie about why she had fallen out with her mother.

According to the source, the 15-year-old teenager has requested to meet her father, Jackie Chan.

“Etta said she had always wanted to meet her father, even if it was only for once, she would be satisfied. However, Elaine objected to it. Etta promised her mum that she would focus on her studies if her mum agreed. As Etta has always done well in her studies, Elaine has always wanted to earn more money so that she could send her to Harvard University to advance her studies.”

“However, ever since they return to Hong Kong, Etta has constantly read about her father’s news, and wanted to meet him. Elaine objected to it, and their relationship estranged. Etta began to act rebellious, and has no heart to study,” said the source close to Elaine.

Having problems at work and family, Elaine is under tremendous stress as a single mother. The source revealed that she had to resort to drinking to “numb” herself and many times, became very emotional and “lost control”.

“Etta was helpless seeing that she could not help her mum. So, she started to miss her father. She is not happy and could not find any solution, so she tried committing suicide. The school decided to file the police report after finding that she had many scars on her wrist.”

When asked recently if she would like to meet her father, Etta stood next to Elaine, looking embarrassed and said, “I can’t reply.”

Elaine immediately replied, “I am rushing to work. Can’t you see I have so many people to feed.”

Jackie has also recently spoke about his love child and expressed his guilt towards her. The 61-year-old star said that he would “let nature take its course” about acknowledging his daughter.

Jackie said, “If we happen to meet, so be it. I’m very easy-going.”

For so many years, Hong Kong star Jackie Chan has not uttered a singe word on his love child with Elaine Ng, Etta Ng. Even when Etta was suspected to be abused by her mother, Jackie remained unmoved and did not render any assistance to her. Many have also criticised him for having an “iron heart”.

Perhaps in his 60s now, Jackie has opened up more about his private life.

Recently, Jackie launched his new book, Jackie Chan: Never Grow Up, Only Get Older <成龍﹕還沒長大就老了> and shed light into his marriage, family, and his younger days. During a recent interview with Hong Kong media, Jackie spoke for the first time about his love child.

Earlier, reports said that Etta had been living an unhappy life. The 15-year-old teenager does not have much friends and only had a cat as her confidant. Through her paintings, they reflected her loneliness and anguish.

When asked if he really did not intend to leave a cent to Etta, Jackie said, “I believe she doesn’t need my inheritance. (Don’t you feel that she had been a victim all these years? She is innocent.) Yes, she has been hurt.”

Jackie also said, “Don’t you think that I am in a sorry state too? I have let both sides down.”

Asked if he would continue not to acknowledge Etta, Jackie lamented, “Some things are best not to talk about. Let nature takes its own course! If we happen to meet, so be it. I’m very easy-going. ”

According to the police, the 42-year old alleged suspect Elaine Ng(吴绮莉) was arrested on March 11 for abusing her and Jackie Chan(成龍)'s 15-years old daughter, Etta Ng(吳卓琳). The arrest started when Etta made a complaint to school about her mother hitting her shoulder at home. After considering the information, the school decided to report the information to the police. During the initial investigation, the police suspected of Elaine hitting her daughter on the shoulder to discipline her. Etta is currently resting in the hospital with no obvious superficial injuries. Elaine is currently arrested for child endangerment and the case is listed as child abuse.

At the same time, the police found a small amount of suspected illegal substance inside of Elaine's house during the investigation period. According to sources, the suspected drug could be marijuana but the police is still waiting for laboratory testings for confirmation. Elaine was locked in jail for 24 hours and was released on Thursday. She will have to return to the police station in May. Elaine is charged with three counts by the police including suspicion of child abuse. The case is currently being handled by the Tai Po District Criminal Investigation Team.

Since posting on bail yesterday, Elaine has already returned home. To avoid the media, Elaine refused to face the reporters directly. Instead, she made a comment behind the window curtains, “The alleged event never happened. My daughter is currently in the hospital but its not what you guys think. She went to the hospital because of discomfort. Children can make mistakes and it's our job as adult to take care of their problems. Please don't make any false accusation. I did not hit my daughter or possess any illegal substance at home.” In regards to her refusal to face the media publicly, her reason was that she didn't have any makeup on.

Jackie Chan and Stanley Tong attended the National Association of Public Television in Beijing event. They were invited to be special advisors. Jackie expressed he hopes someday productions can openly collects more resources, so a true story can be adapted into a script for TV or film.

Jackie Chan's new film Zodiac is scheduled to release on December 12, 2012. Jackie said: "In the past 6 months, I have been to 23 countries for martial art contests with other masters. Later, I spent a year advancing into the late stages of production." 56 year old Jackie also mentioned that this will be his last large-scale action film: "I am at that age. I don't want to be flying all over the place in the future."

Jackie Chan, Li Bingbing, Winston Chao (Chiu Man Suen) two nights ago attended the 1911 charity premiere. 1911 was Jackie Chan's 100th film. As for box office expectation, Jackie Chan instead wanted young people to know from the film that the thriving China now came from a group of self sacrificing forefathers. Has he taught his son Jaycee Chan (Fong Cho Ming)? Jackie Chan said, "I told him as the shoot went on, I learnt along the way myself. Actually our forefathers have done so much for us, I am truly appreciative. I hope he wouldn't pursue extravagance any further." Has Cho Ming achieved his demand? Jackie Chan joked that he was OK. What was his son lacking? Was he not filial enough? Jackie Chan explained that he was just a little short, but Cho Ming has been rather filial. He treated his mother the best. Jackie Chan sounded a little jealous, he said, "No, (is he a big spender?) His Mommy will keep a close eye on him."

He and Bingbing was chatting and laughing, Jackie Chan explained that because Bingbing revealed that she had a friend who was interested in bidding at the "Jackie Chan Cup" charity auction, in particular the Olympic torch that Jackie Chan held. However the bidder was not interested in identifying himself. Jackie Chan asked Bingbing whether the person would not pay, Bingbing said that she would pay on his behalf. Bingbing added that since it was for charity, she had to take action as well.

Speaking of 1911 being invited to be the 24th Tokyo International Film Festival special opening film, Bingbing said that she would be working and did not know whether she would be able to attend. Winston Chao felt that the sooner he knew the date the better, then he could make time.

One of the four famous actresses in Mainland (Jing Lei Xu) was rumored to have had an 'intense kiss' with international star Jackie Chan outside of one of Beijing's 5 star hotels.

Photos of Jackie and Jing widely circulated online. In the photos, Jackie appeared to have both of his hands on Jing and accompanied her to her car. Jing was smiling beautifully, clearly a little intoxicated. After Jing got into the car, Jackie reached over in the car, it appeared that Jackie had both of his hands on Jing's face. Then they started kissing. However a witness expressed that Jackie let go after kissing Jing and the driver sent them home. It was described, at the time, they were both completely drunk. In the car, Jackie started kissing Jing intensely.

Jing's company expressed that Jing was drunk at the time, that night there were many people at the scene, she and Jackie were just politely giving each other a Goodbye Kiss. The rumor on the internet is just too exaggerated.

Jackie's management expressed that they will not respond to Jackie's rumors. They are just regular friends, and greeting friends is a normal thing.

The day before, Jackie Chan commented on the HK tourists held hostage and killed by a gunman in the Philippines on Twitter, leaving 8 dead and 7 wounded. The comment was suspected to support the Filipino police and he extended a 'friendship hand', representing the people of Hong Kong that there is no hatred. Jackie's comment sparked public anger, saying that Jackie is not qualified to represent the HK People, even good friend Eric Tsang thought that he was really wrong this time and that he needed to provide an explanation to the citizens. Yesterday afternoon, Jackie expressed that the Twitter comment was made by his assistant from the U.S. and his actual intentions are different. He stressed that he is a 100% Hong Kong person, and is feeling sorry over the tragedy that must be investigated. Towards the misunderstanding caused through the Twitter message, he apologizes.

Jackie Chan Kong-sang is allaying fears the botched rescue operation in Manila would put Filipinos living in Hong Kong in harm's way.

In his twitter account, the Hollywood martial arts star extended his friendship to Filipinos and told them not to worry.

"We do not hate," he said.

Later, he added: "We already have so many natural disasters - typhoons, tsunamis, everything! We should be united and not kill or hate each other."

Chan also expressed sympathy for the widely derided Philippine police.

"If they had killed the gunman sooner, many would ask why they didn't negotiate first. And if they negotiated first, they'd ask why they didn't kill him sooner," Chan said. "So sad."

Manila officials, at least this time around, were quick to respond.

"Thank you, Mr Chan, for extending a hand of friendship," presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said.

"We grieve the tragedy. We hope the Hong Kong people will also understand our situation."

International star Jackie Chan has broken his silence on the allegedly cancer-causing Bawang brand hair shampoo that he endorses.

During an appearance at the Shanghai International Film Prototype Art Charity Auction on Sunday, the action star said: "Incidents like this, where shampoos are reported to have problems, are not new. Someone is trying to harm me and Bawang. It's like when I make a film, my opponents will surely say it is bad. This is very common."

Hong Kong media had reported in July that samples of Bawang brand Chinese medicated shampoo and products from its Royal Wind brand had been tested and found to contain 1,4-Dioxane, which is classified by the US Department of Health and Human Services as a probable carcinogen (cancer-causing agent).

These negative reports caused a public outcry and even resulted in Bawang's stocks being suspended from trading in Hong Kong after its share price dived by almost 18 per cent at one point.

Chan, the spokesperson for the Bawang shampoo which claims to have anti-hair loss properties, and Chinese singer Faye Wong, the spokesperson for Royal Wind, had also come under fire for endorsing the allegedly harmful products.

Due to legislation passed last year, they may be legally liable if the product one endorses is not up to scratch.

When asked why he took so long to tell his side of the story, Chan explained that he did not want to add fuel to the fire and believed that the truth would eventually come to light.

"Now the regulatory bodies have already issued statements that the shampoo passed their standards, so these rumours have been refuted without anyone having to take any action," Chan added.

"I have always been very careful with what products I endorse. But there are some media who are specifically gunning for me and a few other artistes, I am not sure why, as though it is better that we all just died."

Bawang had previously issued a succinct statement to clear the air on the matter and said that Dioxane is present in numerous other household products.

The Guangzhou-based shampoo manufacturer, which had been operating since 1989, also explained that the levels of Dioxane found in its shampoo is well below international safety guidelines and did not pose any sort of health risk to consumers.

Former studio executive Du Huidong has been making waves by exposing celebrity secrets in his new book.

Former superstars Brigitte Lin and Joey Wong were implicated and even the late Anita Mui was not spared.

Actor-director Jackie Chan's romance with the songbird Theresa Teng was a major talking point.

Theresa, who passed away in 1995, was one of the most prolific and loved singers in the 80s.

It was said that Jackie had met her when he was taking English lessons overseas and it was also there that their relationship started. However, things fell apart when Jackie's current wife, Joan Lin appeared.

In the book, Du seemed to imply that Joan had used underhanded means to force Theresa to give up on Jackie.

He also wrote that Joan was the one who sparked the infamous incident when Theresa refused to accept an award from Jackie and started crying during a prize-presentation ceremony in 1981.

The pair eventually split but even after almost 30 years, the two megastars' story remains one of the most talked-about in showbiz.
