Stephy Tang has a break up with her female friend, Teng Yan Min; She denies it and says they keep in contact
Stephy Tang and Alex Fong are rumoured to get married next year? She says everyone believes it is true
Mentioning that she is turning 34 years old on 15th October, Stephy reveals she is busy promoting 3 films and will be attending movie festivals in Busan and Kaohsiung. Hence, she does not have time to celebrate with her friends and no plans to look for a boyfriend as well. Regarding to the rumours about getting married with Alex Fong (方力申) next year, Stephy says: "I find that it is amusing and I happen to be in overseas when the news report is released. My friends tell me about it and it is obviously fake news. Why does everybody including my close friends and relatives believe it? Nobody dares to ask and perhaps the news is written too perfect. Anyway, I feel it is never ending. (Worry about linking to your old love forever?) Anyway, it is not within my control and hopefully no more misunderstanding."
Asking if he showed concern for his rumoured girlfriend, Laurinda Ho (何超蓮) who went to Australia, Alex said: "It is already over and you are still asking? It is past tense and friends keep in contact anyway. (Stephy comments you are devoted?) We understand it and my conscience is clear."
When asked if any dates on Halloween Day, Stephy said: "Nope. Very dry." Mentioning that she showed support to football Charmain personally, Stephy replied they were friends and he sponsored her volleyball team. When asked about her attitude towards her suitors, Stephy said: "Please do not say suitors. Everything starts from friends and we need to understand each other first."
Stephy expressed she tried to exercise in order to reduce weight and say: "I love to exercise and quit eating red meat. I will not try other methods to slim down. Pakho disclosed he had been trying to keep fit while focusing on his singing career and drank protein powder before: "It caused rashes on my face and back and it was very irritating. It is not suitable for everyone to drink and I change to exercise after that. I tried eating pills to gain weight too but I had stomach pain as a result.
Will focus on the career now
When mentioned about Alex Fong (方力申) dropped his tears during an interview at radio station and expressed his apology by saying it was all his fault earlier, Stephy said: "It is pointless to apologise since we refrain from mentioning it." She emphasised they did not keep in contact and mentioning about many netizens wished for their reconciliation, Stephy said: "I did read it but focusing on my career now. (Some netizen commented Alex had been trying to salvage the relationship lately?) I understand the concern and time will heal the wound. (Any hopes to reconcile?) I am focusing on my career now."
Yesterday, Stephy returned from her Taiwan trip and addressed her breakup at the airport. An emotional Stephy even broke down many times during the interview.
Looking very emotionally drained, Stephy said that she and her mother went for a trip together a few days ago. Her mother returned to Hong Kong first, while she went to Taiwan on her own. Stephy also said that she dared not read about her breakup news as she wanted to calm down first.
Choking back on her tears, Stephy said, “It’s not so easy to respond on it. We decided it quickly. We had to announce and respond at the same time. I did not have time to digest, so I took a break for about 10 days. I wanted to calm down first before facing everyone. I hope everyone understand that relationship is between two parties. We were together for so many years, and it’s really not easy to explain the cause of our breakup in 2 or 3 sentences.”
“Everyone thought that we had a fairytale story, but we are also like a normal couple. We need to face many problems. When problems accumulate, it’s hard to explain and solve.”
Stephy also clarified her relationship with her female volleyball coach.
“Pictures of me and a female friend were taken. If you use normal angle to look at it, the matter will not be so complicated. (Are you afraid of being seen as a lesbian?) I did not think of such thing. She is just one of my female friends. Please do not speculate. Besides hurting us, it will hurt my friends too.”
Asked if there would be any chance to reconcile with Alex, Stephy did not rule out the possibility and said, “It depends on fate. We are very good friends for now. I hope that we can continue to collaborate and maintain a good relationship.”
Stephy left a message: "We got together because of love 10 years ago and break up because of understanding after 10 years. Alex is the best boyfriend but we do not have the destiny to grow old together. We can only blame it on fate but no regrets at all. Please do not guess about the reason and there is no third party and separate is to fulfil the wish. Fulfil is the greatest love and to find someone more suitable."
Stephy and Alex were together for 10 years due to filming series and it is indeed a shocking news. Stephy kept apologising and hoped everyone will believe in love: "My world does not consist of fairy tale but love as it is real love. Although our relationship has changed, but I will continue to protect him as family and give him real love and blessings in different way. Hope everyone will continue to believe in love."
Cherrie accepted the interview and said: "Paul (ge) was supposed to return to Canada and accompany his wife but he helped me to film some episodes. Stephy was a good helper who did not receive any wages at all. Hope the investment for next film will increase and give more opportunity to Hong Kong."
Stephy laughed and said: "I do not need to act overly insane person but many emotional scenes which was challenging to me." When mentioned that Alex Fong (方力申) felt uneasy when filming kissing scenes with Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) in the series, Limelight Years (華麗轉身), Stephy said: "I am very open and did not give him any pressure."
Regarding her accidentally burning her forehead with a curler the other day, Stephy laughed at herself: "The injury is still very fresh, it's already my second time. Feel very stupid, I was rushing, so I burned myself. (Left a scar?) I'm scared!" Asked if her boyfriend comforted her? She immediately "complained": "No, he only said I am very stupid!"
Yesterday [Oriental Daily] spotted Alex driving Stephy in his BMW back to their 'love nest' in Bisney Road. About 10 minutes later, Alex walked out of their residence with Stephy after changing into a coat and long pants. Alex and Stephy drove to Cyberport for a meal and then a movie.
The two only ate for half an hour before heading to the cinemas to watch a 5:30pm movie. During their walk to the cinemas, reporters approached the couple and asked whether they had already tied the knot? Alex couldn't react fast enough and blurted out: "Yes!" Stephy quickly said: "Stop speaking nonsense!" Alex knew he messed up and tried to recover: "Yes it is a knot (結), but I didn't mean the character for 'tied the knot' (結婚), it is the character for constipation (結宮)." Stephy continued denying: "He said he tied the knot, but I haven't. I don't know who he tied the knot with!"
Alex parents lived near the couple's new 'love nest', asked whether its for the convenience of babysitting grandchildren in the future? Alex was more alert this time, and asked the reporter back: "Babysit your babies?" Asked if they are in a hurry to have a 'Horse baby' (2014 year of the Horse)? Alex and Stephy sweetly smiled, but did not answer. They then walked into the cinemas for their movie and went home right after the movie.
Although at that time, the Hong Kong singer-actor had revealed that there were no marriage plans, word has it that the two lovebirds have recently held a low-key wedding in Japan, Okinawa last month.

Stephy denied the rumor through her management and that she retains the right to take legal action. Alex stressed they never got married nor did they ever divorce. He said he has always been living with his family, and only lives near his girlfriend. The day before, Netizens exposed Stephy and Alex's whereabouts. Once Stephy got to Paris, her purse was stolen, which had her passport and wallet in it. The thief made a quick getaway and Stephy was left with no choice, but to report to the police. After dealing with all the paperwork, the couple had to cancel the trip, what a disappointment.
In the afternoon hours at 4pm in Paris, [Apple Daily] reporters were in a car driving to report about the Fashion Week, and spotted Stephy and Alex dating sweetly near Le Louvre. It was rumored that Alex is not renewing his contract with Gold Label and is going to take Stephy along with him to leave? Alex denied: "The contract between Gold Label and I still has a few years, we haven't discussed on contract renewal yet. Stephy and Gold Label's contract expires earlier than mines. If we really are leaving together, then she would be taking me along with her." He does not know if Stephy will continue her contract with Gold Label because they rarely talk about this topic.
Stephy attended another event and clarified that she didn't go look at houses with Alex, but because they live close to one another and have been neighbors for a year already. She also denied that they announced their relationship, she said that her attitude towards the rumors had never changed. She will only make an announcement when she gets married. Asked if Alex is perfect in her heart? She frankly said there is room for improvement.
