The highly anticipated series, “Forensic Heroes IV” (法證先鋒IV) had a press conference yesterday to promote the reshooting process due to the “OnSum Cheating” scandal. While Jacqueline Wong’s scenes are being shot with her replacement, Roxanne Tong (湯洛雯), producer, Miu Siu Ching (梅小青), expressed, “We immediately edited the script because different actors will have different portrayals. Also, there might be some scenes we can’t capture anymore. There are some scenes where we can do better as well.”

The series was originally promoted as one of this year’s TVB anniversary series, but has been postponed because of the reshoots. Miu Siu Ching shared, “We were originally classified as an anniversary series, but we need to have it approved by the Chinese film administration. We are filming in June/July and need to allow time for editing, so on principle, the series won’t be airing this year. Mr. To hopes the series will air early next year.”

Roxanne Tong also shared with the press that she had already alerted Jacqueline Wong beforehand. She said, “I sent her a text previously so she has a heads up. I don’t want to comment too much about this. She needs some privacy too, so I don’t have much to comment on this.”

Raymond Wong Clears the Air
Raymond Wong also cleared the air about the earlier rumors about him cursing and getting mad after finding out about the reshoots. He explained, “This time is the real response. I didn’t purposely respond previously because the involved parties were already affected. It’s not convenient for me to say too much. My family and I also went on vacation. When I found out about the news, what I was most worried about was not myself, but the actual “Forensic Heroes” team, worried about whether the series will air or not.”

When asked if he had cursed, Raymond Wong responded, “Why would I curse? To who? With the bathroom? I was really worried. At the time, I did send a text to Sister Siu Ching (Miu Siu Ching) asking her if I could help.” (Are you mad at Jacqueline?) “There is nothing to be mad at. We are not in contact.” (Not mad or can’t be mad?) “We are not mad. We are outsiders, won’t respond on it. What I am most worried about is whether the series will be able to air or not. It’s not suitable for me to comment. We are friends so it’s definitely not suitable to comment. It’s just a pity because everyone’s hard efforts are going to waste.”

Raymond Wong (黃浩然) accepts an interview at radio station and promotes TVB series, The Forgotten Valley (平安谷之詭谷傳說) on 26 January. He does not expect his role character has more breakthrough than he can imagine: "I am happy that the online ratings record is satisfactory and many dare not watch it alone at night as we create an eerie atmosphere in the beginning. I like my role character despite focusing on women and discussing stuff based on women perspectives. However, my role is quite challenging as I  live in the village and have a wife whose's thinking is similar to Western so my thoughts start to change when facing my father and villagers. There is a high peak coming soon and it is my main focus. Hope everyone likes it."

In addition, the villagers have their own activities while waiting for the filming to start and Raymond says: "The women will gather around and keep talking and the men will tell them to be gentle once it is cut."

Raymond is filming Apple-colada (果欄中的江湖大佬) series lately and praises the theme is realistic: "It is the first series focusing on fruit markets and we really create a fruit market and it looks very real."

Raymond is famous for being a good father and concentrating on accompanying his family now: "I have an advertisement work and have brought my kids for vacation as they have exams in mid year and we will stay in Hong Kong for Lunar New Year. (Worry about your son's health due to ongoing flu bug?) It has been one week since he returns school and he feels much better now. We wear masks when going to bed and the two brothers sleep together and I am worried about catching the bug from each other. My younger son starts to get sick after his classmate and my elder son is becoming sick too. Fortunately, my wife and I are alright and we wear masks all day other than eating and everyone must take care of themselves."

Raymond Wong's assistant recently confirmed that the TVB actor, who was recently diagnosed with Behcet's Disease, has been discharged from the hospital on 18 September.

According to Oriental Daily News, the actor's condition has slightly improved and he was allowed to leave after nearly two weeks of hospitalisation.

Reportedly, Raymond's condition was quite worrisome when he was first admitted. Aside from not being able to eat or drink, the actor had to depend on saline drips and needed assistance to move around.

However, his assistant Ms. Lee recently assured that Raymond's condition is slowly getting better each day. He is now allowed solid foods and can walk without any help.

Ms. Lee also stressed that though Raymond was diagnosed with Behcet's Disease - an autoimmune disease that can lead to inflammation throughout the body, he was lucky to only suffer from throat ulcers and blurriness, unlike known severe cases where vital organs are at risk of damage.

No information has been revealed as to when the actor will return to work. Raymond had already withdrawn from the upcoming pirate drama "Cheung Po Tsai" due to his illness, and was replaced by Tony Hung.

Yesterday Raymond Wong, Priscilla Wong, Evergreen Mak and the rest of the cast of TVB new series Karma Rider attended the promotional event. The series is premiering on the same day as grand production Triumph in the Skies II, but Raymond still had confidence in the ratings. He stressed the genre of the two series are different. Just as long as they can successfully attract the audience to "fall for" the series during the premiere week, then its a success! Raymond said: "Otherwise the premiere week might be lower, after all the cast is weighted differently. Karma Rider is a little breakthrough, the positive story is told using a gray tone, but audience will have to have some patience. It won't be difficult to understand though." Raymond described the series as a good faith production. He and Priscilla had already done their promotions and the other cast are helping online.

Priscilla does not dare to have expectations on Karma Rider's ratings, but she did stressed she is not afraid of TITS2 and it is actually a benefit that the series is airing with TITS2. This is Priscilla's first leading role, the majority of her scenes revolve around her relationship and her crying scenes. She said "I felt just as nervous as first time producer Chan Yiu Chuen. Many producers want to use TV ratings to safeguard artists, but Chan Yiu Chuen took up the courage to cast me in his series. I was very scared and hope it didn't impact anything. I hope the audience will notice me while they watch the other artists."

"Slow Boat Home" actor Raymond Wong shares Sheren Tang's recent woes about the piecemeal scripts in TVB, but expressed that it is a sad truth that all TVB artistes should have already accepted.

As reported on Jayne Stars, the actor stated, "TVB's system of handing scripts to their artistes at the last minute is a problem that could eventually result in bad acting, but this has been an issue for a long time."

Raymond expressed that life as a TVB actor is never easy, as not only do they have to memorize long scripts, they are also lacking in rest and sleep, resulting in mood disorders. In the end, the end product is a bad and tired performance on television.

But he added, "It has always been like this in TVB. It is indeed hard work. So if you want a more comfortable life and capable of doing so, then head to China! You can even get a good eight hours of sleep every night. If you want to stay [in TVB], then you can only accept the system."

The actor also hinted that with the birth of his baby, his financial burden has increased, thus taking up mainland projects is a better prospect.

"But I also intend to take a break after every 5 months of filming so that I can spend more time with my family. Eventually we need to find a balance in life. Work should not take up our whole life. Our family should be the most important."

When Raymond Wong debuted, he was spotted by director Johnnie To, who brought him into the film industry. However because Johnnie saw no improvement in his acting, Raymond went through a period of time where he had absolutely no jobs. This happened about 6 years ago before he joined TVB. From this past experience of seeing no future, Raymond learned to cherish his career and family.

Fear of Having to Pay the Crew's Lunch Bill

Reporter: Before entering TVB, how did you get through 9 months of no work?

Raymond: I relied on my family and savings to survive. People are inert. When one does not know what type of job they will be facing, it is difficult to try and advance on anything, so then just hea your life away! Actually I felt really discouraged those 9 months before entering TVB. I basically just had enough for basic living expenses. I went to work first by taking the subway and then connecting to a bus. During my lunch hour, I would eat elsewhere because I didn't dare to eat with the staff, I was afraid they would ask me to pay for the bill!

Reporter: When you first went from the film industry into the TV industry, did you feel like you got demoted?

Raymond: I didn't think that way. I just wasn't used to a lot of it and it seems like my acting was worse than before! In the beginning, I was avoiding work and it was a pretty big deal! It wasn't until Sweetness in the Salt that things started picking up again. My interests came back then.

Reporter: Avoid going to work, that big of a deal! Have you thought of giving up?

Raymond: Nope! I was under a contract! I was feeling unhappy, but it was just because of the transition, I thought I could handle it.

Reporter: You're not a 'biological son' (TVB management artist), why did TVB still let you take on the leading roles?

Raymond: Five years ago, the competition was still very fierce. In the recent years, Kevin Cheng, Ron Ng, Bosco Wong and many Siu Sangs went out to make more money, so more opportunities landed on me.

Handsome is Useless

Reporter: You've been married for 7 years, do you and your wife still have romantic times? Has your wife complained you're boring?

Raymond: For many years already! My life is totally boring! My wife likes to go out and try different foods, but I'm always eating at the canteen. I won't try out new things. My wife says: "You weren't like this when we were dating!" I answered: "Every man isn't like how they were before marriage. That time I was trying to marry you!" But I think its good to try out new things from time to time, so nowadays I usually invite friends out to eat and have them do the recommendations.

Reporter: Does your wife usually accommodate you?

Raymond: She does! She's the one who gave up on her dream, I can still pursue mines.

Reporter: What is her dream?

Raymond: She wants to open an art exhibition, but actually she studied oil painting at the art school Emily Carr Institute in Canada before. The same school Wing Shya studied in. The school only accepts a few Chinese students each year. My wife also hopes to develop her career further, but she has to look after our two sons now, so she doesn't have the time anymore.

Reporter: Your wife came from a wealthy family, was there pressure on you?

Raymond: My wife and her family are completely financially independent. Back then, she worked part-time while studying to make her own money because her father was 10 times more strict than my father. My father-in-law believes discipline will help his kids be able to survive where ever they go, so my wife is trained well. She's very tough, she can take care of the entire garden on her own. People in the industry know she's very strong. Even if the director did something wrong, she will go tell him off!

Reporter: Consider having more children?

Raymond: No more, can't handle it! Don't even mention the financial issue, can't distribute the love evenly! Luckily my oldest son loves his little brother a lot. Usually he's very rough, but then he'll go secretly give his brother a kiss, smile and then walk off. It's rare, but this was one of my hopes.

Reporter: Do you think you're handsome?

Raymond: In terms of my five sense organs, of course I cannot say I'm ugly, but there are so many people in the country, there are handsome guys everywhere! I think its useless being handsome in this industry. The reality is the females cannot make it to the front line without beauty, but the males can still be on the front line without being handsome! As an artist, the most important is to encounter a good role and acceptance from the audience. Also, its about how much effort you put into the performance, the looks are secondary.

Kevin Cheng Warns Him to be Careful

Reporter: How do you counter entice from the opposite sex?

Raymond: It is difficult to maintain a marriage. I might be going to Mainland for work soon, many people warned me to be careful, especially Kevin Cheng. He said: "Brother, you have a wife. You really have to be careful, you might get into trouble at any point in time!" Today, I came here to do this interview with you, I still hope to keep my family forever, but perhaps two weeks later or two years later, the media might catch me with another girl. Life is difficult to predict, it's hard to promise anything!

Reporter: If it really has to happen, then it could happen in HK too!

Raymond: I don't have too much of a craving for this! I try to avoid as much as I can. If I don't have a close friend or my manager with me, I try my best to avoid nightlife. Even during social gatherings with drinking involved, I keep it at a minimum and decline to others' request of taking pictures with them. Also, when I'm out at night, I keep my alcohol expenses low, around HK$2000 or HK$200. Unless I'm out to meet girls, otherwise without a purpose, I could just tell my friends to come over to my house and we drink there! Working in this industry is so tiring, is it really worth taking the chances to lose everything all at once?

Yesterday Raymond Wong, Priscilla Wong and Whitney Hui attended the costume fitting of TVB new series Master . Understands (tentative). Raymond reveals he'll be shaving his head soon, "I'm very happy to be the lead actor again. (Will you sign a management contract with TVB because of this?) TVB had always been giving me opportunities. I will be focusing more on shooting TVB series, but I want to maintain this relationship for now." He expressed once he finishes shooting the two series he has on hand, he will be taking a break and go on vacation wit his family.

Priscilla Wong takes on a leading role once again, but can no longer use the 'newcomer' excuse, which puts greater pressure on her. When asked if she's afraid she may get a lot of gossips? She said: "I'm already prepared for these types of news. I hope to do better!" As for the rumor that she has Yu Wing Shan (head of the TVB Variety Shows department) backing her and is getting boycotted due to this. Priscilla said helplessly: "Can't help it. I'm just a small potato. Audience can remember me more if I have some sort of nickname. However, I have nobody backing me." She expressed earlier on her birthday, she had a crab fest celebration with the cast and crew of Heart Road GPS, which proves she's not being boycotted.

First time in a costume drama, Whitney Hui (2011 Miss HK second runner-up) expressed she does not mind having to hide her beauty because she plays a female constable in this series. She boasted that she has good Chinese and won't need a translator. She just has bad memory, so she has to copy down all her lines for it to absorb.

Raymond Wong and Jessie Shum attended a Father's Day event in the shopping mall yesterday. The two played games and gave out gifts to the audience. Recently, it was rumored TVB intends to sign Raymond to become their 'biological son', he denied: "We had always been calculating by show. In the short-term, this relationship won't change. (Rumored you're paid HK$10,000 per episode?) Very little, perhaps not even. I'm just kidding! (Have other TV stations asked you to join them?) CTI didn't contact me, perhaps I'm not qualified."

Jessie expressed she got a text message from CTI before, but never got an official invite. As for Father's Day, she said her father is out of the country on vacation, and will only be able to celebrate with him when he gets back. However, she has alrady prepared the Father' Day gift. Raymond said: "On Father's Day, I have to work. I will only be able to celebrate with my son in late-July."

Since Kevin Cheng became TVB's TV King, he has been surrounded by more and more gossips. Aside from the rumors that he is madly pursuing Annie Liu, recently his new series Gloves Come Off (GCO) has been getting positive feedback, but there are just as much negative news. Following the speculations that GCO plagiarized the filmA Fighter's Blues, lately it has been said that the action director for GCO, Master Sin Ho Ying publicly criticized Kevin, describing him as a good actor, but he's too self-centered and does not know how to respect others.

It was understood that when the two were filming GCO, they already had conflicts. Off-cameras, Kevin didn't talk to Master Sin's two apprentices Raymond Wong and Brian Wong at all. Up until Master Sin's recent switch over to Ricky Wong's CTI, he had no more apprehensions and freely exposed his previous grudge. Also, Netizens criticized Kevin's performance in GCO, that he was only able to 'chok' and even crowned him as 'Rubber Wing' (Kevin Cheng Ka Wing).

A few days ago, Kevin was back in HK for promotions, but after work he didn't go home to rest, instead he headed to Causeway Bay for a dental cleaning. Perhaps its because of the abundance of negative news lately that he has to wash them all away with a dental cleaning. Kevin said: "After so many years in the industry, must have some maintenance, same goes for the teeth." The day before, he went for a haircut, it looks like the most important is to maintain his handsome looks. As to publicly criticizing Sin Ho Ying, yesterday Kevin was back in Mainland for work and responded over the phone: "Different people have different views. People that don't know me will misunderstand me, I won't comment too much. After all, it's enough that people who know me well, knows the situation."

GCO's producer (Law Wing Yin) expressed he has seen the reports. Regarding Kevin's words being too over and severe, Producer Law said: "Sin Ho Ying voluntarily helped us by being our boxing adviser, of course there will be different opinions among us, but the shooting process went smoothly. Master Sin has his own principle that he has to express his opinions, while Kevin can get very tense towards his work. Towards filming he won't go easy and gets very tense. This type of personality, you can't say it's good or bad, but after discussing as a group, Kevin still does it. This time, I can see where Master Sin is coming from, Kevin's words were a little too severe. I will talk to Kevin about it!"

As Master Sin's apprentice, Raymond Wong, strongly supported his teacher and said Kevin has an ego: "When we were filming, I didn't hear any arguments between them. (What do you think of Kevin as a person?) We usually just nod as a greeting! He is self-centered! We don't come into contact much, and when we do, its at the boxing stage because we are opponents in the series!"

Kevin is one of TVB executive Virgina Lok's favorites. Yesterday in regards to Master Sin madly scolding Kevin, she said: "Martial artists are just that direct!" Then Virgina expressed that Raymond has been learning martial arts with Master Sin, but its new to Kevin, so having to box like a pro in a short period of time is not easy: "Kevin has been injured after all, so he wants a clear understanding of all action scenes. He's not like Raymond Wong, who has such good chemistry with Master Sin!"

Female Co-Stars Support Kevin

Kevin's female co-stars Selena Li, Natalie Tong and Kate Tsui strongly supported Kevin's character. Kevin's girlfriend from the series, Selena actually praised him instead: "I didn't see any arguments between them. It's just for the good of the series that they all have opinions. The Kevin I know is not like that, actually his personality is very real and direct. We can actually become true friends. (Master Sin was madly scolding him?) I don't believe he would say that!"

Natalie expressed there are several boxing scenes in the series and they all are feeling exhausted and just don't have the strength to argue. As for Kevin described as being self-centered and arrogant, Natalie said: "I haven't heard of that. Each artist has their own views and attitudes. Artists need to have some self-centeredness. I don't think Kevin would take out his bad moods on other people." As for guest star Kate Tsui, yesterday she said over the phone: "Is there some sort of misunderstanding? I have known Kevin for so long, I know what type of personality he has, he's just rather frank."

Niki Chow and Raymond Wong gained some momentum after their series Bottled Passion. The other day, the two visited an elders home as a 'couple team' and sent early Chinese New Year greetings to the group of elders. They also gave out the so-called 'milk candy' from the series. Niki and Raymond hope to collaborate one more time as a couple in a comedy series because Bottled Passion was just way too tragic. Comedies can make people feel happier.

The finale of Bottled Passion reached a high peak of 40 points. Raymond immediately teased Niki saying that she promised before that she'll wear a bikini to celebrate the high ratings and this is something audience want to see the most. Niki said: "I never said that, I said anything except for a bikini." But Raymond continued to teased her: "Even want you to take off the bikini? Let's not go there! (You really want to see?) I will avoid!"

Lately Niki has been busy shooting for new series, Policewoman's Love Battlefield and sprained her ankle while shooting for a chasing thief scene prior to this event. She said: "Because I had to chase a thief in the cultural center with heels on. At the time, it suddenly started drizzling and I had to jump a few hurdles, so I accidentally sprained my ankle. (Because you don't exercise on a regular basis?) No, actually I like shooting action scenes. In the past, I have tried hanging on wires, this time it's just that I'm wrestling with male artists, so bruises are difficult to avoid." Raymond, who was besides her, joked again: "Actually you can't really move, not sure why they asked you to be a police officer, but there is someone worse in TVB, that is Natalie Tong." However, Niki expressed she loves being a policewoman: "It's not that big of a deal, just need to be in a bath and loosen the muscles."
