Ever since Nicholas Tse (謝霆鋒) and Faye Wong (王菲) rekindled their relationship in 2014, they’ve kept a relatively low profile. There aren’t too many pictures of them together in public either. However, there have been viral rumors circulating online recently stating the two have broken up and that Nicholas Tse is dating Chinese actress, Yang Mi (楊冪). The rumor also states Nicholas Tse is planning to announce his new relationship in March.

When confronted about the rumors, Nicholas Tse expressed, “Nonsense! We are doing very well. Don’t believe these rumors.” On his relationship with Yang Mi, he says, “We are friends. She also supported “Chef Nic” (十二道鋒味) before, but we only see each other once a few years. The last time we saw each other was at an award ceremony. I really don’t know why there are rumors about us.” When asked if this would affect his relationship with Faye Wong, he said, “Nonsense!” On whether he would get married with Faye Wong because of this incident, he responds, “No.”

Ever since Yang Mi announced her divorce last December, there were several rumors of her dating male celebrities such as Chinese actor, Li Yifeng (李易峰), socialite, Wang Sicong (王思聰), and now Nicholas Tse. Given Nicholas Tse’s responses and attitude towards these rumors, he is very serious about his relationship with Faye Wong.

After years of marriage discord and divorce rumors, Hawick Lau (劉愷威) and Yang Mi (楊冪) have finally announced their divorce in an official statement today. The two got married in 2014 and had a daughter, Noemie, in June of the same year. The divorce rumors were especially rampant this year when the two former couple’s online interactions were reduced. Not only that, Yang Mi had posted a picture of only herself during Mid-Autumn festival, making many question why Hawick Lau and Noemie were missing.

The official statement says:

“Thank you to everyone for your love and support for Hawick Lau and Yang Mi. Through both parties careful consideration, they have decided to relay the following message through our management company: The couple have already signed the divorce papers, amicably splitting up this year and ending their marriage.

This decision was carefully considered with respect by both parties. Although they won’t be living together as a married couple anymore, both parties will take on the role as a family member to take care and raise their child together. At the same time, they will wish well of each other’s future as friends.

Both artists used the media’s public resources for their own personal affairs, troubling everyone. For this, we extend our sincerest apologies. At the same time, in order to protect the child and both families, after this statement is public, both parties will no longer respond to this matter. We hope the media and the public will respect their wishes and give them their own space. Please don’t bother their child or either party’s families.

Chinese actresses Tang Yan (唐嫣) and Yang Mi (楊冪) were at the same fashion event for VogueFilm in Beijing yesterday.  This is news because Tang Yan got married in Vienna almost two weeks ago and everyone was expecting Yang Mi to be her bridesmaid since Tang Yan was hers at her wedding with Hawick Lau (劉愷威).  However, Yang Mi didn’t attend, fueling their discord rumors even more. The lifetime event we’ve all been waiting for has happened.  In a short clip shared online, Tang Yan and Yang Mi had no interactions whatsoever, seeming to avoid any contact with each other.  Aside from a group picture, where the two were standing apart, the two didn’t talk either.  Angelababy and her husband, Huang Xiaoming (黃曉明), were also at the event.  Luckily, Angelababy was standing near the two backstage, making it less awkward for each other.  Yang Mi was chatting it up with Angelababy, while Tang Yan was slowly walking away from the other two. 

How did their rift start?
It all started three years ago when the two were vying for a role in the international movie “Bounty Hunters” with Korean actor, Lee Min Ho.  In the end, Tang Yan won the role.  Later on, the two were fighting for another role in the movie “Chronicles of the Ghostly Tribe.”  The director ultimately selected Tang Yan for the role. 

Starting from last year, it was rumored that Yang Mi’s favorability with the public was decreasing.  It was rumored both actresses’ teams were fighting  for them to climb to the first spot of the Hot Topic List on Weibo.  It was said Yang Mi’s work studio was upset at some anti-fans badmouthing their boss.  Yang Mi’s fans were sure it was Tang Yan who was bothering their idol. 

Later on, a staff member from Tang Yan’s work studio reposted an essay on Weibo that was criticizing Yang Mi’s acting.  This staff member claims his/her account was hacked, but no one really believed it.  From then on, it was said Tang Yan and Yang Mi’s relationship started to crumble and no longer contacted each other. 

Hawick Lau (劉愷威) and Yang Mi (楊冪) are married for 3 years and rumours of their marriage crisis have been circulating around. On 20 February, another news report that Hawick and his family celebrate Lunar New Year with his daughter on day 2 but Yang Mi is absent.

Three days ago on Weibo, Hawick urges the public not to speculate: "I hope everyone will not speculate. I know it is hard for the reporters to do OT during Lunar New Year and hope you will publish my full explanation if you are going to report it. I used to say coming back and return already and that situation forbids me to stay longer without much consideration. Subsequently, the reporter from the magazine calls my father and we reply that coming back and spending vacation together. Celebrating Lunar New Year is family affair and please stop using it as publicity. Happy new year and hope everyone has an enjoyable time!"

The letter stated that the account user on Weibo released fake news and it continued to circulate around despite clarifying it several times. As a result, it damaged the reputation, image and normal lives of Hawick and Yang Mi. Many netizens showed their supports for them as well.

Hence, Hawick was very mad upon and rebutted the rumours upon knowing it: "Nonsense!" Yang Mi's work studio replied: "Their relationship is very good and thank you for your concern."

In addition, Li Yifeng's company denied about falling in love with Yang Mi news and said on Weibo: "Somebody tried to increase the movie ticket sales by smearing the main leads of the movie. This is despicable and please do not be mislead and participate in the gossip."
