Power Chan (陳國邦) and Mimi Lo (羅敏莊) film new series, (VR驅魔人) by ViuTV at Ap Lei Chau. He says: "It has been more than 10 years since we film drama together and considered our first time to act as a couple together this time. We used to film series with other artiste as couples and our friends comment they are unused to seeing it. I did discuss with the film producer and must act with Mimi as a couple since we are open all the way."

Mimi reveals she puts in full efforts in this series and says: "Power and I even rehearse together at home and approach our family for help. Everyone is aware we have a daughter and need to seek her permission before filming series. I arrange her to say at her granny's house last night as the maid is on leave today. Otherwise, how can I manage it?"

Asking about the forced withdrawal from TVB series, Justice Pao (包青天) due to participating in other drama, Power says: "It is the company and a person's problem. Honestly, the production and crew teams feel disrespectful but the news may not report it as they work behind the screen. (Feel very mad?) Nope but they should explain clearly even if we may not collaborate in the future. ViuTV's senior management did call to apologise to me and some TVB staff feel it is really not a problem. (Not working with TVB again in the future?) Perhaps they may have a change of management one day and some problem may not lie with the company but the way of handling it by other people."

Lately it has been rumored Mimi Lo was displeased with TVB trying to 'collect debt' from her and so decided to not renew her contract. Yesterday Mimi accepted a CRHK radio interview and said: "I've said before in another interview that its because of my daughter, especially the first year went by so fast, so I decided not to renew the contract. I have never said I got nothing out of the 10+ years I've been with TVB. I just feel that statement is what you were hear in Cantonese movies. Those words won't come out of my mouth and I didn't explode at TVB!" When asked about TVB 'collecting debts' from her? She said: "Not collecting debts, my contract didn't end yet. It is only called a debt after the contract ends. It was because last year due to my pregnancy, I stopped working and this year I have to make up for it. Of course I'm a little unhappy getting chased. (TVB made arrangements for you to renew the contract?) Not at the time. Maybe there is some misunderstanding, but later someone came to talk to me about contract renewal and I really just want to take care of my daughter. I just felt really pressured. (What does your husband Power Chan think?) He never stops me from making decisions about my work. I do whatever I like. My husband's position is just to comfort me."

Last night, Power Chan and his wife Mimi Lo were guests on TVB new game show 滿Fun情趣鬥登對. Since Mimi's maternity leave, she has been actively paying TVB back the "show debts", but her contract is expiring in August. She revealed she might consider leaving the company, she said: "There are too many people here, so I may not get my turn. Perhaps I'll just take on a few jobs, do some musicals and sing some songs. Ricky Wong's side has a lot of people too, who knows, I might just go over to ATV."

Mimi's husband, Power Chan gained popularity after his "Pang Sam Shun" role in The Confidant. IT turns out his contract is expiring end of this year, but no one has contacted him for a renewal yet. Power expressed if all goes smoothly, he will renew his TVB contract, but he doesn't want to place too much hope on it. He said: "I'm not discouraged, just thinking realistically. I'm not a newcomer who just debuted, perhaps I'll have to wait another 20 years and see if I can become like Wayne Lai or maybe see if I'll get another breakthrough role as big as Pang Sam Shun." Mimi teased her husband that he's already considered a veteran actor. Power claimed: "Veteran very soon!" Since Power became a father, he has turned into a talkative person and has wide smiles on his face. Mimi said she's not jealous of her daughter.

TVB artists Mimi Lo and Power Chan's 7.3 pound baby girl, Jan Chan, was born yesterday at the Hong Kong Baptist Hospital. The nurse praised Jan's big eyes and pair of beautiful long legs! When asked whether Mimi was emotional or cried? Power said: "She was rubbing her eyes and even said other babies crying sounds annoying, but when her baby cries, she thinks she sounds cute. I went in to cut the umbilical cord too. What I was most nervous was, I was afraid the scissors might hurt the baby! (Go for another baby?) I think we'll have another one in the next one or two years, so our daughter could have someone to play and grow up with her, but leave it all to fate."

When asked who the baby resembles more of, the mother or father? Power laughed and said 80% of the people think Jan looks more like her mother. Their daughter is named after Bruce Lee's character "Chan Jan" in the film Fist of Fury, which is also Mimi's favorite film. As a father for the fist time, Power reveals Mimi was crying when she told her mother-in-law over the phone and expressed they aren't young anymore, but are already matured when they welcomed the new life into this world.

As for Mimi's comeback? Power said his wife will be reducing working on-screen, but will have a performance in Mainland in December. He hopes the family of three can work together in the future, so her daughter can see more of the outside world and expand her horizon. When asked if Mimi is the type to get a tattoo? He said: "Tattoos hurt the nutrition. She'll be breastfeeding as well and also she's a singer, she can still sing even without tattoos. She won't mind." Also, Mimi posted a photo her with her newborn and husband Power on the hospital bed. She wrote: "Mission accomplished!"

Mimi Lo and Power Chan's little 'dragon girl' is due in October. To remember the joyous pregnancy moments, the couple decided to do a photo shoot. Mimi is already 8 months pregnant and changed into several different bikinis for the photo shoot. Despite her bulging stomach, she still wore 3-inch heels for the shoot.

It was seen Mimi went from an A-Cup to a C-Cup, turning her into a feast for the eyes, even her husband Power said surprised: "Wah! Wife, you have such big breasts!" This is Mimi's most sexiest appearance ever, but for big stomach and chest, she does not mind to make this sacrifice: "I had a two cup size increase, of course I don't mind looking sexy! Also my belly weighs about 30 pounds, so I no longer need to worry about my belly fat or trying to push in my stomach. It's great!"

As BRIDE's photographer (Arden) is responsible for the couple's photo shoot. He praised how professional Mimi was. She was able to completely give off the feeling of liveliness and happiness. She spent 10 hours taking pictures and didn't even show a sign of exhaustion, she just complained she was really hungry. Mimi laughed: "That's how pregnant women are. I eat a lot of food now because my stomach can hold it all! (Isn't the 3-inch heels dangerous?) I just want to look beautiful! There was nothing dangerous that happened, we safely completed the shoot! (Will you get a C-section in October?) I'm afraid of being in pain for long periods, so I decided to get a C-section."

As Mimi is very pleased with the photos, she will be choosing one to use as the photo book's cover. She also said she recorded most of her songs in her new album: "My album is scheduled to release at the end of the year, if suitable, I could use some of these photos!"

Yesterday 4 months pregnant Mimi Lo accepted a radio interview and talks about her pregnancy miseries: "This morning I was vomiting so much I cried. Two streams of tears were rolling down." She also said her pregnant look looks ugly, but she doesn't know if her baby is a boy or a girl yet. She said: "If the baby isn't a boy, then that's such a pity!"

Mimi reveals she'll be moving soon and is forced to violate the rules of pregnant woman. She said: "No choice, our current home is too small and only suitable for two people. Mimi Lo held the final show of her concert (羅敏莊真SING情演唱會) last night. Her husband Power Chan made a special trip back from Hengdian to give his wife a huge surprise. Mimi had tears of joy on stage. Because Power is busy shooting in Mainland for TVB series The Confident, he missed the first night to his wife's concert, but did send her a sweet SMS.

That night on the final show, Power suddenly appeared on stage, giving Mimi a surprise. Initially his work day was to end at 4pm, but the crew suddenly cancelled the filming for that afternoon, so Power immediately flew back to HK after he got off work at 9am. At around 7pm, he rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Stadium and made it just in time for the opening. The staff 'smuggled' Power into the stadium to avoid catching any attention. He only had a cap on and watched the performance in the control room. Near the end of the concert, Power went on stage for his surprise. Mimi was so surprised and happy that she cried.

During the concert celebration at 3am, Power only took a 1 hour nap before rushing back to Hengdian to continue working. Mimi said: "My husband is a tornado that goes back and forth, working hard, but he gave me the most fantastic surprise that was very memorable."

Mimi Lo held the first of two shows to her concert 羅敏莊真SING情演唱會 at Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Wan Chai yesterday. Many artists went to support her including Felix Wong, Jessica Hsuan, Maggie Cheung, Kenix Kwok and husband Frankie Lam, Teresa Mo and her husband, Evergreen Mak, Carlos Ng, John Chiang, and more.

Although Mimi is already two months pregnant, she still went on stage to perform as usual. The first song she performed, was the song that got her famous Challenger 挑戰者, but during the song Mimi appeared very excited, having wide smiles on her face and waved to audience: "I finally have my own concert. Did you all just finished praying up in the mountains before coming to see me? I have to walk slowly now because I have a minor issue with my health. For every step I take, you all are more anxious than I am." Following her opening speech, the concert officially started. The concert was based on Mimi's growth and experiences over the years. She performed songs from the vinyl era until today, including Sam Hui's Wine and Song 杯酒當歌 and Difficult to Forget You 難忘你, TV series theme songs Rainbow Round My Shoulder (1983) and The Fearless Duo (1984). When Mimi was performing, she also started dancing, but she clearly didn't dare to make any large movements.

Mimi revealed her 'career line' while singing, and claimed that its possibly going to be her only time: "I'm not sure if I'll ever have the opportunity to hold another concert again. This is my greatest limit to sexiness ('career line' reveal). (Were changes made to any of the concert segments due to her pregnancy?) For the majority of it, there were no changes. The staff are really afraid of me moving too much, but I don't really care, just want to share the course of events. Also, I basically don't have that many dances." She also didn't care and still wore high heels. She was only afraid she may forget and trip on stage.

Power Chan sends a sweet SMS to show his support

Mimi expressed her husband Power Chan is in Hengdian working and couldn't make it to the concert. However, he did send a sweet SMS to encourage her. It was the first time he wrote "I Love You". Mimi said: "He has never been a sweet talker, to praise that I'm beautiful." When asked if Power approved everything that happens in her concert? Mimi laughed: "I don't care about him. I know after becoming pregnant, I feel a small belly sticking out, so I told my costume designer to make changes because I don't want audience to vomit seeing me like that. I'm somewhat resemble the Roswell aliens." As for the bleeding that happened to her earlier? Mimi said: "Yes, I thought I lost my baby, but fortunately the doctor said the fetus still there. My doctor told me not to work too hard, but I have to complete these two nights first, so I could only tell my baby to hang in there!"

Mimi Lo announced that she's two months pregnant with her husband Power Chan's child. She expressed perhaps its because she's initally too thin, so her stomach is already slightly swelling up. She laughed: "Right now I get hungry very fast. In the past, after I eat my stomach bulges up, but then it would shrink back. Now, it doesn't know how to shrink back anymore, haha."

Mimi is considered in the first stage of pregnancy, and is often feeling tight and wants to vomit. She said: "Yesterday I was in the middle of practicing my singing, and just couldn't hold it. I hope when I get on stage, I'll be able to withstand it. I'll try as best as I could not to vomit on the microphone." She frankly said that there was some bleeding on the lower part of her body, and this led to her belief that there was something wrong with her baby. Fortunately, the doctor said the baby is healthy, but urges her to take more time to rest.

Since Mimi Lo performed her representative piece Challenger (挑戰者) on TVB's The Voice, her singing had been greatly praised. Next month on April 5th and 6th, she will be holding her first concert entitled 真Sing情演唱會. For this concert, Mimi has put all her efforts and heart into it. Whether if its the script, sequences or the sponsor, Mimi is participating in it all. She expressed the entire concert is her heart and soul, and she hopes to enjoy the entire process.

Mimi expressed her good friend Vivian Lai although won't be able to attend to show her support, but she still cares deeply about the ticket sales: "She's helping me borrow clothes and do promotions. Such a good friend! Chet Lam is helping me tailor a theme song for the concert." Mimi expressed what's most unfortunate is that her husband Power Chan will be working in Mainland and may not be able to get back to HK to show his support.

Talking about love on Valentine's Day is best to find a lover. Power Chan and Mimi Lo are married for a little over a year and are still as intimate as ever. During the interview, the couple suddenly kisses and when they were eating, Mimi grabbed a piece of beef and fed her husband. A very sweet couple.

Mimi suggested for cohabitation

Mimi has dated 3 times, all 3 times she was the one who pursued the men, including Power Chan. At the time, they were shooting Lofty Waters Verdant Bow, where they played a couple. When men are serious into their work, they are especially charming. Mimi saw that Power only needed to glance over the script and he would remember the lines, even the lines of his co-star, she began to deeply admire him. She fell in love with him both in and out of the series.

"I really admired him, I had feelings for him, why not take some initiative? I will not wait for people to pursue me. Hong Kong men are rather shy, after work I would say that it's convenient for me to give him a lift. In fact, it was not convenient at all, he lived in Tuen Mun."

She believes that men and women are equal. The girl pursuing the guy is easier to get together. Not even a month of dating, Mimi already wanted to cohabit with him and she was the one who suggested it.

"I felt bad for him, he lived so far away in Tuen Mun. Sometimes he would get home at 4am. Just take a shower and it's back to TVB City because we start working at 6am. It is basically not a life someone could live in, so why not find a place in Sai Kung and live together."

Mimi herself couldn't explain why she did that. She had always been a filial daughter living with her parents. Then one day she wanted to move out, upsetting her mother. Her mother stopped talking to her for a while.

"Before when I dated, I wasn't like that. It was like I had the "princess illness' that my boyfriend had to serve me. I don't know why, when I first met Power, I felt I had the responsibility to look after this person. I knew he liked to drink milk tea, so I would buy a cup every day and have it delivered to the studio for him. Not even a month of dating, I already felt that I had to take care of his meals and drinks, so he won't get sick. It's a weird feeling."

Father-in-law cries that daughter is marrying

During their 7 year cohabitation, forgetting for what reason that they had arguments, but Mimi took her 3 cats along with her and moved back with mother. Not long after, Mimi couldn't help but give Power a call to ask: "Why didn't you come pick me up?" He reacted calmly: "You left on your own, I'm feeling very comfortable home alone." Later, he started the car and went to pick her up. Their relationship turmoils resembles an ending you would see in a comedy series.

When Mimi and Power got married last year, Mimi's father was feeling sad that his daughter was getting married, so he threw a tantrum: "You are already helping someone else that fast? You don't love your father anymore?" His tantrum just came out, and Mimi blamed that her father ruined her wedding, but he wouldn't apologize. The groom then had to come in and be the middle man.

Power said: "Turns out that Father-in-law couldn't sleep for a few months because he knew his daughter was going to get married. I patted him on the shoulder and comforted him 'don't feel that you lost your daughter, actually you just got a son.'" Immediately after, Mimi's father embraced Power in tears. At the wedding, when he gave his daughter's hand to Power, he 'ordered' him to take good care of Mimi. Power nodded, but that wasn't enough, Mimi's father wanted to hear him say "I will".

The 43 year old Power is older than his wife by several years, so he calls her "BB". No matter if it's acting or life principles, he is her instructor, often lecturing her.

Mimi said: "Last Tuesday, February 4th was Power's birthday. That day it was also the second day of Chinese New Year. That evening, I said to Power 'Happy Birthday'. He said: 'It's enough that I have you, my birthday wish is for you to be happy.' He really is a very good husband....aiya, I feel like crying."

Experiencing the Financial Crisis

The couple both had their ups and downs in their careers, so they have learned to let go of many things that happen in life. In 1997, Power was majorly affected by the financial crisis and had a major drop of income. Later, he had some health issues and underwent 2 surgeries in a week, almost losing his life.

Even now, sometimes Mimi would comment that the entertainment circle is not fair, but then Power gives her a lecture. He said: "Society is basically not fair, but happiness is fair, just as long as you know to appreciate. I was in Malaysia shooting a series once, I saw the local children playing with a toy car that had a missing wheel, but they still played happily. I saw them and could not help my tears, their happiness is actually just the same as a person who buys a brand name sports car for their pleasure."

Unpopular in the Music Industry

Mimi also had a tough time in her music career. Since she was young, she always had a dream to be a singer. Finally she got a chance to enter the industry after participating in a singing contest. Her first song Challenger was composed by Mark Lui and won her the Newcomers Bronze award. The gold award went to Kelly Chen.

"When having a meal with Mark Lui, suddenly Aaron Kwok joined the table, I really couldn't believe it even in my dreams."

However, that time the music industry focused more on looks rather than singing skills. The promotion staff didn't distribute her pictures, the MV director kept praising that she had a pretty neck and shoulder, but didn't really get her close up shots on camera. She admitted to life and assumed that she was 'ugly'.

After releasing 2 albums, her record label had some dispute with another label, Paco Wong told her: "There is in fact a problem with your manager, we can't release any more albums." Her manager also wouldn't sign the contract, so she was forced to change careers.

7 Cats, No babies

The couple has a relationship resembling a mentor-student. "I admire him so much because I feel he's very mature and taught me a lot in many different aspects of life."

At home, the couple has 7 cats that they love like their own children. Friends ask them if the 7 cats are enough for them and that they don't need children?

Power said: "We are very open. Last night before we went to bed, we talked about this because a friend brought their baby to have dinner at our house. I happily played with the baby and then she asked me 'Honey, do you want a baby too?' I answered 'No' It's because that baby doesn't cry, so he's fun to play with. We both have the same thought, if we have a baby, one of us will not work anymore and focus entirely on being the caregiver."

Die First

Lovers fear of losing their other half from death, and afraid that if they die first, their other half will lose their loved one.

Power said to Mimi: 'I hope you die first because so I can take care of you until the very last moment of your life." Mimi said what she felt inside: "I also have this thought because I feel that losing him will be very painful, don't know how I will live on."

Power comforted her: "Sometimes we talk about how we will face death, it's not a positive thing to talk about, but should be mentally prepared. Before we were married, we had a 9 year old cat, [he/she] was her second cat, but unfortunately passed away from an illness. Mimi was very sad, but I told her: 'We treated [him/her] very well during [his/her] lifetime, very happy and active life. There are no regrets.' Our most loved will eventually leave us one day. She's currently by my side, I will cherish her presence even more."
