A few days ago, Joe Ma and Linda Chung were shooting an explosion scene for TVB new series
Tiger Cubs II
and had an accident. The two were sent to the hospital right after they
completed the scene. Joe's MRI showed he had a tear in his ligaments in
his right hand. Yesterday morning, he wrote on Weibo letting everyone
know he's fine and was discharged from the hospital that afternoon. He
expressed he's fine now, but will need some time to rest. He was
initially suppose to head back to Mainland to shoot a new drama, but
because of this accident, he may have to turn it down.
Joe said:
"The doctor said I had 2 out of 3 ligaments torn, and if the third one
was torn, it could have resulted in a dislocated joint and I would have
had to get surgery."
Joe recalled the accident, "The moment
after the explosion, I'm not sure if it was because of the steam in the
air, but I just naturally fell forward. I didn't want Linda Chung to get
even more injuries, so I put all my weight on my shoulders and placed
my two hands on the ground. That's how I got my injury!" He expressed
after the accident, he just knew it was very painful, but believes the
severity of the pain wasn't too serious. Also, that day was the last day
of filming, Joe didn't want to delay the filming progress, so after a
quick break, they finished up the scene before sunset. Joe expressed he
asked Linda if she was okay after the accident, and suggested she get a
full check up to ensure there aren't any muscle or bone injuries.
