TVB Entertainment News

Bosco Wong and Ron Ng are handsome actors from the same time frame, but the two actually have not collaborated much. Since filming a series in 2003, there has been at least 14 years that they have not had an opportunity to encounter each other. It was not until leaving TVB that they portrayed brothers in a web drama. Ron laughingly said that he took this rare opportunity to use the four months of filming the web drama to finally make up for the many lost years of his relationship with Bosco!

After leaving TVB one after the other, they reunited in Shaw Brothers' web drama, "Flying Tiger", last year, portraying brothers who share the same father but different mothers; there were many partnering scenes. Regarding bringing about this time's collaboration, apart from Shaw Brothers executive Virginia Lok, the two also laughingly said that senior Michael Miu was appealing. Ron laughingly said, "Tell Michael to charge less! He is too expensive...almost the entire series' budget. For every explosion, the director shook his head, saying that they have gone over budget again! (Want to meet the Hong Kong viewers again?) Also want this series to have an opportunity to broadcast on TVB. If they do not broadcast it, may not be able to make up for Michael's pay".

Regarding Bosco doing well in Mainland, he laughingly said, "Still cannot compare to Michael! We just came to accommodate him! (Very different from Mainland filming?) There are differences in terms of lifestyle, filming, and culture. There are also pros to filming in Mainland. Because [you] are filming in other places for a long period of time, would concentrate more when filming because [you] have no more friends...just go back to the room to look at the script after completing filming".

Looking back at the project in which the two actually had partnering scenes, it is already 2003's "Find the Light". Ron laughingly said that, when the two were in TVB, they always missed each other: "Since debuting until now, our relationship had been lacking. Filming this series for three or four months gained it all back; thus, when working, our relationship was particularly good. While eating together, thought about when we just started filming series back then. Really different from now. The ability to comprehend and the performance reaction have really grown up". Many netizens frequently collectively hope to gather all the 'Olympic Six Stars' for another collaboration. Ron laughingly said, "I think I had a part in doing something. One time, I saw fans put our pictures together. Seeing the picture, I also had to make a comment out of personal feeling, so I made a post saying that I hope to film a project together one day. Actually, it's almost impossible to film together...perhaps film our own and then group together again!"

He praised both of them: "I know her since young and filming Triumph in the Skies (衝上雲霄) series."

Mentioning about TVB, Ron said: "It gives opportunity to many newcomers and need not be always Raymond Lam (林峯) and Ron Ng. Newcomers stand to benefit when working together with the veterans." He added he was learning from Francis Ng (吳鎮宇) and Damian Lau (劉松仁) at that time.

He did not have time to discuss the renewal with the company but emphasised TVB was his priority choice: "I have been in Mainland all the time and do not have ample time for discussion. (Feel many male artistes left TVB?) See many people when switching on television. (Affect your decision when seeing many artistes from the same batch leave?) Nope. It depends on my own decision and the opportunity given by the company. (Salary is the main factor?) Salary is one of the factors but developments is more important."

Ron added his remaining series with TVB was Lord of Shanghai (梟雄) and will try his best to promote the series.

He added TVB did not chase him for contract renewal as it knew he was busy with his dad's matter: "But the drafting for contract is completed. I have stopped working for sometime and will continue working after settling my dad's issue. (When you will resume working?) Should be soon and there is no definite date for me to start work yet."

Yesterday, he attended a swimming function and directly revealed that his contract is ending very soon and that the company has already started discussing with him for the past few months. When asked about his intent in contract renewal, he replied: "I will place TVB in the first place, if it wasn't for TVB, there wouldn't be Ron Ng today, we will be discussing about our collaboration style." Asked what conditions he is looking forward to, he smilingly replied a raise in salary: "Raise my salary a little, just enough to live! Actually money is not the most important, the most important is to develop through different collaborations and I wish to film in both Mainland China and Hong Kong." Rumored that he is earning 100000 RMB per episode, he was asked whether he was earning a lot, he didn't deny. To compare, even though TVB filming hours are long, there are many viewers that watch their series.

Mentioning Myolie Wu's (胡杏兒) rumor of not renewing her contract and signing with another company, Ron expressed that he wasn't clear. On the contrary, he did hear about Bobby Au Yeung's (歐陽震華) contract renewal controversy and believe that there must have been some verbal misunderstanding and that it is currently being handled. Asked whether the company does not cherish their veterans, he said: "Not really, the company's biggest asset is the actors."

Previously having rejected to participate in TVB new series Trainee Angel (實習天使), he said that he knew the producer specifically tailor-made the role for him, but unfortunately, the series clashed with the filming of his Chinese drama.

Artiste Ron Ng (吳卓羲) accepted an interview from radio station and disclosed he was currently filming a modern romance series in Shenzhen (深圳). When mentioned about his role in the series, Lady Sour (醋娘子), Ron disclosed that Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) and he had established great rapport since acting in series, Triumph in the Skies (衝上雲霄), together and said: "We create some laughter during filming and work happily together." He added: "The most amusing scene is Myolie Wu used the flute to play fast songs to encourage me when I am blind. I then tell her: 'I usually play slow songs.' However, she seems proud of herself and enjoys herself too." When asked if TVB 'frozen' him, Ron laughed and said: "They will not give me opportunities to earn money if they 'frozen' me. In fact, the company treats me good and accept series in Mainland China on my behalf and please stop worrying for me."

He said: "My mum asks me if I think of having children and it did cross my mind. I may get married suddenly. She tells me she wants grandchildren as I am the only son." He added that he wanted to date but did not have the heart, and said: "I am so busy that I have no energy to date. (No energy?) Not in physical but lacks of time to date. ( Ask friends to introduce?) All their friends have partners already."  Ron disclosed he will be filming series in Mainland China soon and said: "I am not sure about the details but it is a modern romance series. (The lead?) Anyone and professionalism is the most important. (Rewards?) I am very satisfied."

Having played many cop roles before, Ron Ng (吳卓羲) in new series Black Heart White Soul (忠奸人) plays an atypical cop. Besides scenes of investigating cases and thrilling chases, his role in the new series places more emphasis on describing the contradictions of human nature and the dark side of humans, stressing the actor's inner acting skills. He said: "This time my cop role is really different than my previous ones. The role is very humane, has a lot of psychological acting. It talks about me on a mission and accidentally injuring Roger Kwok (郭晉安). Because of guilt, I did a lot of things stepping over the boundary."

Ron expressed that Black Heart White Soul is his most recent work that he is really satisfied with. He didn't really hard sell the series to his friends to support him but there were still more praises compared to criticisms. In fact, Ron's acting has ascended to a new level. Asked if Ron hopes to receive an award through the new series, he said: "Didn't thought of getting an award. If I do something just for the sake of an award, it will have an impact and also gives me pressure. Don't want to film series just to get an award. Much more important that the audience likes it and has a good word-of-mouth."

TVB artiste Ron Ng (吳卓羲) went to attend the movie premiere in Tsim Sha Tsui (尖沙咀) and expressed that he took the opportunity to watch a movie during the break. When asked the reasons for not bringing his girlfriend to watch movie, Ron laughed and said: "Yes, friend and his wife. I have to rely on friends since I have no family now. I am very dry. (Wish to try one?) It is very hard and I do not have time to date as well. So have to rely on my friends to accompany me first. (Fancy anyone now?) She must fancy you first before you fancy her. (So you fancy someone?) Nope, I do not have time to know and understand so it is better not to waste time." Ron explained that the rumours were only for promoting the series.

Ron also expressed that he did take note of Sire Ma's (馬賽) leaked out erotic dancing video. He hoped the matter will be over soon and it was best not to push her, and did not have her contact details as well. When mentioned about Sire SMS to the older male artistes, Ron laughed and said: "I do not belong to the senior group and have no share. We seldom have scenes when acting in the series, Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles. but I do not really believe it."
