Ron expressed he was filming movies after leaving TVB and will be shooting series and films next year. Asking if he will seldom appear at awards ceremony when mentioned about TVB Star Awards Malaysia 2016, Ron replied he watched it and had to see if he had chances to attend it.
When mentioned about Ruco Chan (陳展鵬) and Nancy Wu (胡定欣) won TV King and TV Queen awards based on A Fist within Four Walls (城寨英雄) series, Ron responded he did not watch it as he was not in Hong Kong and it was not easy for the series to win awards due to fighting scenes. He praised both of them: "I know her since young and filming Triumph in the Skies (衝上雲霄) series."
Mentioning about TVB, Ron said: "It gives opportunity to many newcomers and need not be always Raymond Lam (林峯) and Ron Ng. Newcomers stand to benefit when working together with the veterans." He added he was learning from Francis Ng (吳鎮宇) and Damian Lau (劉松仁) at that time.
