TVB Entertainment News

Sheren Tang, who was recently rumoured to have been blacklisted by TVB due to her criticism about the company's working condition, recently shared her woes at a Christian sermon that was held in Vancouver, Canada.

According to Apple Daily website, the actress, who was invited to be the guest speaker at the event, talked about her insecurities and issues working as an actress at the Hong Kong's top television station, even mentioning the script that became the source of her recent troubles with the company.

Sheren revealed, "When I was given such an unfinished script, I didn't know how to enunciate my lines. Sometimes I just blindly memorised the words, to the extent that I couldn't give a good performance."

She even lamented about the time she was asked to play a mother to BoBo Chan and Leila Tong's characters a decade ago, saying that the producers are not very kind to actresses in their thirties.

"Once, a group of teenagers came up to me and called me auntie. That was the lowest point of my career, but I held it back because I would not have a job if I showed my true feelings."

She even admitted to feeling envious over "War and Beauty" co-star Gigi Lai's victory as Best Actress at the 2004 TVB Anniversary Awards. She said it made her feel small, since the first Best Actress award she won was for "Rosy Business" in 2009, despite having debuted 14 years earlier.

Rumour has it that actor-producer Eric Tsang is interested to make a movie star out of former TVB star, Fala Chen.

According to Sina Taiwan website, the actress is also rumoured to have been approached by various companies including the management giant EEG, and actress Kelly Chen's management agency Go East Entertainment.

However, it was reported that the "Super Trio" host has also been interested with Fala's development and allegedly wanted to sign her on for HKD 10 million (approx. USD 1,289,370).

Sources claimed that Eric is planning to promote her in various movies and will shape her career to be the new version of early '90s top female star, Maggie Cheung.

The insider stated, "Eric believes that Fala has many things in common with Maggie, especially in her potential as an actress."

Meanwhile, it was reported that Kelly Chen's manager, Claudie Chung is also trying her best to manage the "Triumph in the Skies II" actress, and even taught her a thing or two about the movie industry to show Fala her sincerity.

When asked to address the rumours, Fala admitted that both Eric and Claudie have approached her, but stated, "I still need some time to think. I hope to find a company with the same goals as my own, so that we could collaborate better. Claudie is great, and she is currently helping me by observing my work."

TVB actress Rebecca Zhu recently dismissed rumours of a supposed plastic surgery.

As reported on Hong Kong Sina, the actress looked slimmer during a recent appearance, and was said to have gone under the knife to look more like "Triumph In The Skies II" lead actress, Fala Chen.

However, while speaking to the media at the promotional event for her new series, "Always And Ever", Rebecca laughed off the surgery rumours, and stated that her new look was due to weight loss, caused by her strenuous kung fu training for an upcoming project.

However, the 25-year-old actress is not opposed to having plastic surgery to enhance her looks.

When asked what part of her body would she like to change, Rebecca stated, "I'm not sure yet. Wait till I get older. I would probably know what I want by then."

On the rumours that she has been trying to look like the "Tales Of The Dark" actress, Rebecca commented, "Actually I have spoken to Fala about this. She and I agreed that we have one thing in common, that is we look nothing like each other!"

Asked if they'll consider becoming a couple instead and earn more appearance money together? Priscilla BB expressed she's more than welcome to do so and declared she will treat Tony a little better from now on and won't argue with him anymore. "After we collaborated, we definitely have gotten more jobs together. We haven't been a couple yet, but since its well-received, I will treat him better and be more gentle!" Tony said: "I'm fine too! I told her she should stop calling me her brother and stop putting her arm on my shoulder when she talks."

Tony disclosed when he earns more money, he hopes to buy a little while home by the hilltop in Greece. Unexpectedly Priscilla forgot about what she said earlier and teased him: "You might roll down the hill though! You don't have to buy a house, when you get older, move to the old peoples home and I'll visit you!" Tony said: "Don't understand gentle!"

This is Michael's last TVB series before his contract expires. Asked of his future plans? He expressed he wants to concentrate on preparing for the Life of Friends Concert (歲月友情演唱會) held in November and everything else, he'll disclose in 2014. After reporters pursued the question, Michael finally blurted out he opened his own work studio called "Laughing Workshop" and may sign a management contract again. He also welcomes his friends to invest in his workshop. Asked if he'll ask Ekin Cheng, Chin Ka Lok and Jordan Chan to invest? Michael said: "They have their own companies." When asked about returning to TVB, Michael joked: "The condition is I have to work with Kate Tsui and having kiss scenes would be the best. I will be signing a per-series contract with TVB soon."

Eddie laughed and said there are too many big boys in the series, so he didn't have to show his muscles. "I'm the steel bar type, sturdy and no belly fat." Eddie revealed there are many car chase scenes in the series that he personally did himself. TVB brought heavy insurance for him and he had one accident where broken glass flew on his ear. When speaking of his TV rating expectations, Eddie said as long as the ratings surpass 30 points. "I hope to continue Triumph in the Skies II's upward trend!" Kathy also believed there won't be a problem in the ratings; she and Eddie have a relationship in the series.

Yesterday after the event, Kathy flew straight back to Beijing and temporarily won't have any more collaborations with TVB. She is currently concentrating on filming in Mainland and endorsements. This is DJ Andre Yue's first series, he played Kathy's ex-boyfriend in the series. He frankly expressed he was a little frightened when he saw the script. "My first scene was a kiss scene with my goddess Kathy. I was trembling in fear, but then I regret that we ultimately didn't have that scene. We still had strolling at the beach and proposal scenes though."

Actor Joe Ma, the lead star of "Tiger Cubs 2", recently admitted that the sequel is his most difficult project to date.

As reported in Mingpao Weekly, the actor, who reprises his role as SDU Senior Inspector Chin Hon To, lamented, "I have been acting for 20 years and this sequel is by far the hardest drama to film."

He explained that while the original was filmed during the fall, "Tiger Cubs 2" started filming during the hot summer weather.

"Imagine moving around in such hot weather and perform stunts while wearing really thick uniforms that are packed with heavy gear. We also have a lot of training scenes and most of the scenes are shot in the mountains," disclosed the actor.

He added that the mountains were especially hard to shoot in, as the climate ranges from extremely sunny to heavy rain, but added, "No matter how difficult, we should be optimistic in facing these challenges!"
