Four days ago, Joey Meng (萬綺雯) attended Hospice Care's mid-autumn festival event. The 2014 Miss Hong Kong Pageant Final was held on Sunday night, but many Hong Kong citizens are unsatisfied with the results, and believes that the judging standards do not fit with the "each person one vote" system. Citizens were only giving three choices to vote for, and netizens pointed out that before the Top 3 were announced, the TVB fun app (voting app) already had the three contestants' names on it, making it suspicious of being a fixed result. About the results of the pageant, Eric Tsang also admitted that he was very shocked, and not his ideal choice.

No. 11 Sofie Ng was a big favourite prior to the finals, and won a lot of support from citizens; however, in the end, she lost and didn't even make it into the Top 3. Many netizens felt it was unfair to her, and some even expressed their suspicions of a fixed contest. Regarding this, Eric Tsang responded yesterday and admitted that only choosing three contestants for the audience to vote for is too little. They should have chose a Top 5 for voting. He laughed saying this year's results shocked many people, including himself.

Top 3 do not think results are unexpected

About the hosts being shocked of the results, the top 3 winners all do not think the results were unexpected, as beauty is in the eye of the beholder. First runner up Erin Wong expressed that Natalis Chan and Chin Ka Lok both supported her throughout. Asked only given three choices to vote for, is it like the audience wasn't given a choice? Erin Wong laughed grimly, while champion, Veronica Shiu expressed she respects the panel's decisions. Second runner up No.7 Katherine Ho received 24903 votes, first runner up No.9 Erin Wong received 28894 votes and No. 15 Veronica Shiu won by a mile with 156191 votes for first place.
