Steven Ma and Kenneth Ma were shooting a Beijing opera scene in TVB new series
Thunder of the Forbidden City. Before shooting, they hurried to practice the singing and hand motions with the Beijing opera instructor. Fortunately, Steven usually sings Cantonese opera, although there is still pressure, it didn't cause him irregular heartbeat. The pitiful Kenneth Ma had no experience with opera had his eyebrows wrinkled when he sang.
When it was time to shoot the scene, the "double Ma" successfully did the scene in 1 take. The Beijing opera instructor even praised: "Smart, Beijing opera is a national treasure, they are a pair of national treasure." After this experience of singing Beijing opera, Steven discovered that it's pleasant to listen to and suits him well. It also increased his interest in learning more Beijing opera.
