Kate exposed that someone opened a Weibo account under her name, and after some of her friends from the industry chatted with the impostor, they discovered that the person was a fake. She clarified that fears of addiction, so for now she does not have intentions to open a Weibo. She hopes everyone will not follow the fake Weibos anymore.
Reporters discovered that this "fake Kate Tsui" started the Weibo on January 18th, and up until now there was no "V" sign to verify the account. The fake Kate Weibo had a black and white close up profile picture of Kate and there are approximately 2,000 fans with 18 followers, some of which are friends from the industry. The Weibo only started getting 'active' this year often uploading Kate's photos from the events she attended and leaving messages. The afternoon before yesterday the impostor left a message wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and uploaded a photo of Kate in a Santa Claus's hat.
Kate's friends from the industry who fell for the "trap" and followed the impostor includes Shirley Yeung, Nancy Wu and Macy Chan. When they learned of the fake Weibo, they were surprised and said they won't talk about topics that are too deep or private on Weibo. When Nancy knew the person was an impostor, she expressed that impersonating Weibos are common. Macy expressed that someone impersonated her on Facebook before.
Also at the event, Kary Ng expressed that having friends to spend Christmas with is not lonely. she reveals that for her concert on January 2011, she already found a personal trainer to keep herself fit and hopes to train to a beautiful figure.
