Charmaine Sheh's popularity has been on the rise in Mainland, and is very honored to have been invited by The 18th Shanghai Television Festival's "Magnolia" Awards to be on the judge panel. She praised that Mainland dramas are of high standards. During her interview with QQ Entertainment, Charmaine mentioned the seriousness of Mainland productions and that they have quality actors. She's already very happy to be able to participate in one of the dramas. "HK dramas aren't nominated. Aside from Mainland dramas having such high standard productions, HK dramas are focused more on modern day, mainly on the HK hot topics, which Mainland viewers may not understand and therefore cannot relate to it." When Charmaine first decided to develop in Mainland, it was all because she started feeling a bit bored in TVB. She had just been collaborating with the same crew for too long and there wasn't anything refreshing. However, she did not completely leave TVB, and when Virgina Lok sees her, she would still happily greet her and say if she has time, she can come back to shoot a TVB series. It was said TVB is currently lacking FaDans, but Charmaine did not agree: "Myolie Wu, Fala Chen and Linda Chung's all have pretty matured acting." It was rumored Charmaine signed a 10million RMB, 3 year contract with a Mainland company? She said shocked: "Wow that much? No!" She hopes to get a raise every year, but she doesn't want to compare with other people. She currently wants to collaborate with Yimou Zhang (張藝謀) the most. "He really understands women, many of his productions are from the female's perspective. If I really could be in one of his film, I probably won't be able to fall asleep!"
