As reported on Mingpao News, the actor, who spoke to the media at a public event recently, stated, "I think the chance [to win TV King] is low, as there are other nominees with higher chances."
Asked if his decision to withdraw from the company earlier was the reason for his statement of defeat, Raymond denied it and said, "I just think that people need to show some improvements."
"I believe I can perform better, and I am looking forward to showing people my future work," he added.
Raymond also revealed that he will not be attending the awards due to his busy schedule.
The actor, who is nominated for his role in "Line Walker", will be facing a stiff competition from the likes of Roger Kwok ("Black Heart White Soul"), Ruco Chan ("Ruse of Engagement"), Lawrence Ng (Tomorrow is Another Day"), Kenneth Ma ("Ghost Dragon of Cold Mountain"), Wayne Lai ("Overachievers"), and many more.
The 48th TVB Anniversary Awards will be held on 15 December 2014.
