Yesterday, she wrote on her Instagram, citing her official departure from TVB, “Back to reality!”
Although Myolie is no longer a contracted artiste under TVB, she keeps her departure very low-profile. As it was TVB that groomed her to be a successful artiste today, she did not wish to leave her old company in an awkward position. She also refused to announce her new movement.
When asked about her feelings leaving TVB, Myolie said, “I am sorry everyone. My contract has indeed ended, and my feelings are complicated. I am very sad, but I can’t announce anything yet. I am still filming a drama, and I will meet everyone when I return to Hong Kong. Thank you for your concern!”
Rumours earlier said that several agencies had approached Myolie, and she decided signing a HKD 25 million contract with Stephen Shiu, Jr’s film production company, One Dollar Production Limited. She reportedly will focus her acting career on movies, and she will star in a western film with Karen Mok soon.
Since opening her relationship with her boyfriend, Philip Lee, there are also rumours that said that she would be tying the knot at end of the year.
Hong Kong media also reported that after her contract ended, Myolie would also be opening a bridal boutique. At the same time, she would be the spokesperson for her boutique and use her wedding as a publicity for her boutique as well.
Regarding Myolie’s decision to join Stephen Shiu, Jr’s agency, TVB senior executive Virginia Lok said, “It should not be counted as a truth if she didn’t say it herself. Actually, TVB and Shaw Brothers are also filming movies! It’s true that there are a few agencies discussing with her, and TVB is one of them. We have worked with Myolie for so many years, and I am very concerned about her life plans now. A female artiste has to marry the right person. As a friend, I give her some space to consider. I have arranged a discussion with her. I am confident.”
