After Kenix Kwok had her daughter with Frankie Lam earlier this year, she has been overjoyed ever since. Her focus has been on beloved daughter Tania (affectionately referred to as Taniababy) so much that she actually forgot about herself being a mother. Therefore, this year, she only remembered to reserve a table to have dinner with her own mother, but did not think anything about celebrating the event for herself – her mother had to remind her that she has been ‘elevated’ to mother status now. Kenix is happy that this year that she is able to bring her daughter and Frankie to have dinner with both her mother and grandmother in celebration of Mother’s Day, thereby having ‘three generations’ celebrating together.
3-month old Tania has definitely been well taken care of, as she currently weighs 18 pounds and with her chubby arms and legs, is extremely cute. As for her face, Kenix says that her daughter’s facial expressions are different every day, so in order not to miss any opportunity to capture the different expressions, she has a camera with her at all times. Kenix says: “My daughter isn’t considered extremely chubby; after she eats, she goes to sleep, then when she gets up, she eats again – plus she sleeps through the night, so I haven’t had to get up and feed her in the middle of the night. Therefore, taking care of her hasn’t been too difficult, since I am able to get enough sleep as well.” (So since you have been able to recover pretty well, will you have another baby soon?) “We will, but we’re not in a rush right now. We’ll let the heavens arrange it.”
Since today is Mother’s Day, the reporter asked Kenix what type of gift she would like to receive from her daughter? She expressed: “As long as she is healthy, then I am happy. It’s too early to talk about schooling right now, however I will choose some ‘pre-schooling’ activities for her when she is ready – though I wouldn’t want her to take on too many activities at once.” (Is Tania very energetic and active?) “She is very sensitive to sound and light and really likes to ‘talk’ – every time I talk to her, she makes a lot of little noises, like she is trying very hard to communicate back. Right now, I talk to her in Cantonese, however I also try to teach her simple English words such as ‘bird’ or ‘bus’ so that she is exposed to it early, which would be easier for her to remember it in the future. In my opinion, learning languages is important, but I also really want her to learn to play the piano because when I was little, I really liked piano, but never got a chance to learn it.”
