In this scene, the kidnapper Joesph was showering when he discovers that the kidnapped boy played by Coleman Tam was released by Kaka (Mimi Lo). Joseph immediately wrapped a large towel around himself and chased after Kaka and Coleman. Because Kaka wanted to stop him from capturing Coleman again, she stole his towel. This resulted in Joesph appearing completely naked, and relied only on a small wash towel to cover his private parts.
A Netizen discovered that when Joseph took the wash towel to cover himself, he was suspected to have flashed (indecent exposure) on screen. Netizens screen captured the scene and shared it on discussion forums and Youtube. There was also a message left on TVB.com "Bor Jai (Joesph's character) had an indecent exposure, truly sacrificing for performing arts! But how come TVB didn't cut it..." A more rational Netizen felt that Joesph couldn't have had something underneath to do the scene and suspects that it's just a shadow of the finger he used to grab the wash towel. Looking deeper into the screen captures, the 'move' is reasonable. There was also someone who praised 11th Brother (Joesph's character in Virtues of Harmony) to be very professional, sacrificing for performing arts...this episode got an increase of 180,000 clicks. Many people are curious of that scene and out of curiosity wants to investigate that indecent exposure too.
Happy to be praised sacrificed for performing arts
Reporters contacted Joesph on this matter, and personally explained the mysterious indecent exposure. He said: "I have also heard Netizens discuss about this hot indecent exposure topic. This is a 'beautiful' misunderstanding. I am really sorry to have disturb everyone, wasting their strength of vision. I am very certain that I did not expose indecently on screen. During the shooting process, I had on underwear and boxers. I feel gratified that people think that I appeared completely naked, and that I caught everyone's attention. It also proves that my acting was effective."
Some Netizens saw the mysterious 'third dot' shadow? Joseph said he had not seen the version online yet, but believes it's just a lighting problem that caused the misunderstanding. When they were shooting that scene, they NGed several times because his boxers were shown. Joesph said that when he received the script, he was also having a headache for two days thinking how he can give off an impression that he was completely naked and do it effectively. When it was time to shoot, he had on underwear and very short pants, and when he took the wash towel to cover himself up, it looked like bullfighting. There were many times during shooting that his short pants were showing, so he changed into boxers. The female artists and colleagues also present at the scene will have to watch him walk around in the studio in his boxers, it was already an unpleasant sight, so how can he go completely nude? He laughed: "Shooting films and going nude on the front end also needs tape, the TV scale is even more restricted, can't be that open. Also shooting in Tseung Kwan O's ocean area, there are lots of mosquitoes biting you, cannot go nude." Joesph said this was a 'beautiful' misunderstanding and feels happy to have strike remembrance for his own performance, attracting thoughts on how he's sacrificing for performing arts.
Reporters watched the clip of that scene again, and felt that the suspected 'indecent exposure' camera shot was just the shadow of Joesph's finger. When he was taking the towel to cover his important part, his finger was under the light and resulted in a shadow that became the so-called 'third dot'.
