Recently Ruco Chan has been rumored with his Brother's Keeper partner Ankie Belkie, but both of them have denied. Ruco said she is just a friend and there is no opportunity to develop further. Ruco is still single and his career isn't rapidly moving either. He just grabbed the "My Favorite TVB Male Character" award at the Singapore StarHub award, but is not looking forward to the TVB Anniversary Awards, he rather save up enough experience and be like Wayne Lai, climb up to the TV King seat.

As a "suen poon", Ruco was photographed in the same car with Ankie Belkie as they went together to see Louis Cheung's concert. Their rumors started from there and plus they're often flirting on Weibo. Ruco firmly denied: "We are not dating, just good friends."

This year Ruco has reached a good place in his career, not only does he has Brother's Keeper, but also Reality Check and Slow Boat Home, along with three other series that hasn't aired yet. Will this help him seize an award at the TVB Anniversary Awards this year? Ruco was not hurried at all, he made it clear he didn't want the "Most Improved Actor" award. "I really don't want this award because I've been in the industry for 20 years, this is an award to encourage newcomers, I don't want be hindering others from getting this award!"

Ruco's goal is placed on the "Best Actor" award, he modestly explained: "I really think I am still far from getting an award. I rather spend a few more years accumulating experience, portray more different roles and really have the skills, just like Wayne Lai, before I get an award. When everyone praises and agrees, then the award is meaningful. Also this year, there is Chilam Cheung and Francis Ng, how am I qualify to compete with them!"
