Regarding the rumours of his marriage with 29 year old wife, Shi Yang Zi, Lawrence Ng, who is 50 years old this year, recently admitted through Weibo that there are indeed some problems between the couple, they are currently working to solve it. The family of three even went to a vacation on Malaysia after that, in attempt to have a deeper talk. Yesterday night, Lawrence revealed on a phone interview that he and his wife had actually been living separate for 3-4 years already. As for what the problem is between the couple? He said: "The main thing is the cultural difference. We cannot communicate or have a talk. These two years, we've been trying hard, but it isn't something we can solve in a moment's time! The problem arose between the two of us, cannot blame it on one side only." He honestly stated that recent reports on his wife always in contact with the opposite sex is very unfair to her: "The photos of her with the men, are all taken from her Weibo. One of the photos were even with the groomsman from our wedding! I don't want everyone to attack my wife!" He also expressed that his daughter is currently studying primary school, and wants to bring her to Hong Kong to study.

Shi Yang Zi also spoke out for the first time after the marriage trouble rumours on Weibo: "Before marriage, Lawrence and I had an agreement, hoping that I won't film anymore, and comfortably be a full time wife, and take care of the "logistics" at home well.... Loving is easy, maintaining it is hard. I hope we can guard this love we had in the beginning." She also expressed that she wants to return to the industry, because her daughter asked her why she's always at home. She does not want to depend all on Lawrence, and hopes to have an income that can raise herself, her daughter and the family.

Just when it seemed like the two's marriage had a chance of being saved, this morning, at 9:20am, Lawrence announced on Weibo that the two have decied to get a divorce: "As a man, not being able to manage my marriage well, this responsibility, I am incredibly guilty. For my daughter, we really did not want to go to to this last step, but reality is always against our wishes, it seems like divorce is what is best for us. For this, I feel deeply regretful and pained. I can only use the future days to raise my daughter with all my effort, give her the love she needs, and hope to diminish her pain to the minimum. Lastly, I want to thank all the friends who have shown their care to us once again."
