Alex To's father is a Hispanic-Filipino mix, he just returned to HK from Taiwan yesterday. Alex expressed that his whole family were at home watching the incident happen live on TV. He said: "I heard there were hostages that died, really hard to believe. I will pray for them. (There were some hostages rescued?) Lucky that there were survivors, the earlier reports said that all the hostages died, really terrifying. This kind of things cannot be said so randomly. The hostages' family members who see the report really can get frightened to death. If I were them, I would definitely have fainted."
Speaking of the slow rescue by the Philippines police, Alex could not help but blast at them: "The police should have worked faster in the rescue. They were too slow in the operation, too afraid and no planning. How can they use a rope to pull the door down? It's a whole team of police officers against one person, it's a pity that those hostages were killed, there wasn't even a helicopter. They should have use two big lights blasting into the tour bus, how can they just throw a few glow sticks and go in like that? Useless! My father seeing the Philippines police being so inefficient is very disappointed!"
