Charmaine expressed that there is a challenge portraying this role because she has to be a girl with a mental age of 10 and develop a relationship with Raymond. She said: "My role is the female version of Ah Wong, but Roger Kwok's role already left a deep impression on viewers. I'm already 30+ years old, trying to portray a mental age of 10 girl, making it convincing is the most challenging. I went to visit the mentally challenged schools and learned the children lifestyles there."
Disappointed of low ratings
Raymond has always been supported as the candidate for the TV King title this year, but unfortunately his new series Growing Through Life is not getting good ratings, he frankly said that he is a bit disappointed: "Somewhat disappointed, we filmed the series for 5 months and I had to prepare for my concert in between, it was pretty difficult during filming. I feel the ratings were affected by the unfamiliar Mainland faces coupled with the fact that the series already finished broadcasting in Mainland. (Affect your chances of becoming TV King?) Don't stir it up so fast! Don't stir it on me! Every year, I really don't know what to say, I just want to focus on doing my part. I am also most happy that I was able to learn from Damien Lau and improve my acting. (Don't want to mention TV King because afraid of gossips or to attract criticisms due to your popularity?) It is boring, afraid to say too much."
No mood to celebrate
Can't Buy Me Love although received high ratings, Charmaine has no mood to celebrate due to the Philippines hostage incident. Also the national mourning in the Philippines is not getting anywhere. She hopes that Can't will bring happiness to viewers and relax a bit. Also, Wayne Lai accepted Eileen Cha's interview and when asked about Can't's good ratings, he expressed that it's bringing pressure to the haven't been broadcast anniversary series No Regrets.
