It looks like Hong Kong broadcast station TVB is finally doing everything they can to salvage the career of one of their stars, Raymond Lam. Raymond's usual squeaky clean image took a hit when a Chinese tabloid published photos of him in bed with Chinese model Pan Shuang Shuang. Furthermore, Shaw Movies' creative director Huang Jia Xi also critiscised Raymond as a "lousy actor" and a "box office bomb" last year. It is believed that TVB intends to schedule Raymond and Charmaine Sheh's upcoming drama My Sister of Eternal Flower at a prime timeslot, hoping that it will help save Raymond's tarnished image with the general public. Furthermore, Raymond is currently filming drama Back to the Three Kingdoms. It is believed that the broadcast station intends to run the drama during TVB's anniversary month, a period which is believed to garner higher-than-usual viewership. This would make Raymond eligible for the Best Actor award during the TV Awards Presentation in December. Raymond is also assigned to sing the theme song for Back to the Three Kingdoms and TVB specially invited Japanese musician Kitaro to compose the song.
TVB believed that the theme song and Raymond's solo concert in Hong Kong, to be held in July, will help to increase the actor's popularity. It is also believed that TVB has helped Raymond secure a movie role in producer Raymond Wong's upcoming movie, tentatively named Generals of the Yang Clan. The film will feature a stellar cast of Louis Koo, Ekin Cheng, Wu Chun, Vic Chou and Deng Chao. When reporters caught up with Lau Kar Ho, the producer of Back to the Three Kingdoms, he confirmed that Raymond will be singing the theme song for the drama, "should there be no accidents". Lau added that the drama will complete filming in June.
