As reported on Mingpao, on 16 December, "The Hippocratic Crush 2" actress, as well as actor Kevin Cheng won the newly added China's Most Popular TVB Male and Female Artiste awards, as voted by the fans, hours before the TVB Anniversary Awards.
Previously, fans were asked to vote through a poll on iTVB, Youku.com, and Tudou.com for their favourite TVB artistes. Among the actors that were finalised for the awards include Kenneth Ma, Julian Cheung, Bosco Wong, Linda Chung, Charmaine Sheh, Kate Tsui and Myolie Wu.
Tavia, who has yet to break into the mainland market, expressed her surprise after beating all the other contenders with 41 percent of the votes, and joked, "This is very literal as the Chinese viewers were only able to evaluate my performance based on my TVB dramas."
Tavia also expressed her interest and hopes to be able to work in a mainland series in the future.
